Brilliant I used to wag school and go to Clifton junction in the early 1970s or late 1960s very sad to see it go when did it stop running there..

Shocking!
Have you done your Ancestry DNA and built a tree? Chances are these people are linked to you genetically, and that’s why you feel it so deeply.❤
@@lemonbade I have traced mine back. They all come from Ireland, but I think they mainly settled in ancoats, so not too far away. I’m sure they would have knew about little Ireland. Thanks so much for watching ⭐️ 🇮🇪
@@daftmonkey7296 have you come across a black-and-white documentary filmed in the early 60s about the Irish in Grafton Street, Manchester? Possibly made by Granada?
@@lemonbade I haven’t, would love to see that!
I certainly would lay 🎉on they're resting place if I lived near the area ( I live in Leeds Yorkshire) God rest they're souls. Henry must have been in terrible fear when found, unimaginably tragic life for both Mother and Son. Thanks for the story and poem.

Brilliant vids mate watched a few...my theory with a little research here goes....my partner and i are really big hikers and know dove stones really well and done the walks many times. the weather for the 11 Dec 2015 in London was 14 c around the time he set off.. really mild for that time of year and one of the warmest on record..hence why he didn't have winter clothes on and just slip on shoes not heavy walking boots..... it was a Friday ...i think he was meeting someone for the weekend and was not planning on killing himself as he had a return ticket.you dont buy a return ticket if you want to do yourself in...he got to the pub around 2 pm..to do the walk from the pub to half way up the hill would take around one to 2 hours walking...there are 2 to 3 lay byes going up the hill and Indians head is on the other side of the ravine where you walked..and half way up the hill...dovestones can get really busy at the weekends and on holidays and as a lot of non English people walking round Muslims /Pakistani people..only mentioning this as he lived in pakistan...so if your wanting to meet anyone without being seen its a great place no cctv... might have some now but non in 2015....the poison does not add up..he would not have been laid there with arms crossed and peaceful ...if the police would have checked his net usage for the months before and his phone they might have got a little closer to solving the mystery..cheers mate great work...
@@PtangYangKipperbang thank you so much mate for the information and comment! You really have made some great points there. It’s such a complex case and it could go many ways. Food for thought though most definitely. Cheers once again and take care ⭐️👍🏼

Brilliant mate. I’m an Irish Mancunian who went off to Canada years ago. Avid historian and you lads did an amazing job 👍
The person who said they lived in Marple Street, struck a bell with me. My Grandparent Tom and Clara Ratcliffe live with my G-grandmother Mariah (Grandads mother ) she by the time of their marriage in 1917, had become a Widow, lived in Marple Street. My Dad Tom and his Sister Lillian would live with taking it in turns, months at a time. My Grandparents had relocated to Leeds due to my Grandads job. My Dad had fond memories of Salford, amazingly Mark my Son was a Student at Salford University, are some of high rise flats still Halls of Residence for the Students. He's still mates with Students he met at Salford University, one of them being his Best Man last year at his wedding. Great video 🍻
I was a first year apprentice with Fairclough builders of Swinton in 1979. And arrived to work at 8am on Manchester Royal Infirmary job to see police everywhere, they’d found one of his victims behind the site cabins.
Can hear you
i watched that whole precint being built from hanky park every block of flats from thorn court to precint
Absolutely lovely . Please make some more videos 😊

I’m Mancunian born and bred of Irish stock. I was educated at a Catholic convent and learned about Fredrich Engels. I was doing my homework and my Mum pointed out to me that the poor unfortunate people I was writing about were probably my ancestors. It really brought it home to me (I was 13) that there but for the grace of God I could have been one of them. We must have been strong to survive and bring up a family, most of whom would have died, and that we should be proud to have descended from such a valiant people. Thankyou love for bringing it into focus for today’s children. I’m pretty sure it isn’t taught in school anymore. Xx
I really really LOVED it! It brough tears to my eyes.
