My little 2 up 2 down is still standing from 1790 with its smoke blackened stone and its original floorboards and open fires. Fab. 😊

I discovered your channel this week while researching the scuttlers. I subscribed right away because walking around with you and listening to your accent made me a little home sick.
I love your editing skills, brilliant! Production quality is first class. Great subject matter too. I hate the adds but understand why they're there. I'm working my way through your catalogue because it's not only interesting and informative, but like I said, it's like having a walk around town with a mate showing you stuff you didn't know about.
Grew up in Charlton-on-Medlock, (1950/60s) and Fallowfield in the 70's. Had my 18th birthday in Strangeways on my way to Hindley. But I've been a good lad (more or less) ever since. Haven't lived in Manchester since 1983, haven't visited the UK for about ten years. Wasn't sure it felt like I belonged anymore, too many changes. Only normal I suppose.
Anyway, thanks for what you're doing, really appreciated. BTW...I always fort there was an 'r' in war-ter an all.....Ha ha ha!

Absolutely brilliant as always Anthony. I learned so much about the hidden curiosities of your great city. It's always a shame though to see how much of our past is swept away with little concern for heritage. Too much is lost in the destruction of older buildings. Brickdust, shards of slate, the very hand-writing of a city. Blood on our hands.

There are subtle clues to find all 13 peeps, if you know and understand the significance of there names then you can work out there locations, like the peep you filmed on the canal bridge which is called Canal privy. which was a public toilet back in the day. I've listed the rest, maybe you will make a video. Royal passage, (Canal privy ✔) Mary's room, Pickleometer, Dixon's resonator, Time piece, Jactin floats, Drive, Clocking off, Murry's claxon, Plastometer, Machine room and Grovernor field. keep em coming like what you do 👍

I always go into town for a look around .Went to the Northern Quarter last year ..Tib street brought back so many memories ..all the pet stores we went to as kids ..in the 50s ..am I giving away my age lol ... Loved this! Having worked in the Northern Quarter almost 40 years, I know these streets well. Knew about Bradley St cottages (I work on the street behind) and they are beautifully restored. I went on a walking tour of Ancoates quite some years ago and knew and saw a few of the peep holes at that time, but you've made me want to go back and find more now! Mr Smith is a new one on me...I'll be off to look for that after work one afternoon! As always, well presented, informative and enjoyable with expertly researched historical facts...and not forgetting a little of your charm and humour. Well done yer again, you never fail to please your audience x

I used to wander around Ancoats quite often. Clocked a few of those peepholes and wondered what they were but never went in for a closer look. Will have to go for an explore! Great video as always bud.

I'd love to visit Manchester, one of the city's in this country with some amazing history and still managing to hold onto some for future generations to experience and appreciate. Another awesome vlogumentary Anthony makes it more exciting to want to visit your home city.

Another great video. I really like the concept of the peep holes as a way to look back at the past and help convey the history. I am guessing that the peep holes are like the old black box dioramas we used to make as kids. These were simply a box, painted black inside, and with a small hole to look thru. There was a photo of building or other feature and maybe a few model railroading trees, people or cars to give the affect that you are looking at a real scene. This was actually a elementary school project we did, but we had such a fun time making them, my friends and I made several more. If that is what indeed these peep holes are, you can set them out anywhere. It is too bad some have been vandalized, perhaps if more people knew about them and why they are there, maybe they wouldn't vandalize them. It would be great to create a Geocache walking tour of all the peep hole locations for visitors to Manchester. I also like the old cobblers flat the massage parlor (LOL). I think with some of these newer buildings going up, these older buildings/apartments/shop may come back in style and be repurposed as a chippy shop, coffee shop, dry cleaner, bicycle repair shop, etc... It seems to be the latest trend around here where property is expensive or hard to come by.
