- So i decided to do a little follow up video from my Latest one i did on Manchester Public Enemy No.1 - Bob Horridge. Given that Jerome Caminada is buried Southern Cemetery, i decided to pay my respects to him. As i read and delve into the history of some of these stories, it's hard to be become attached to them in a strange way. A sort of connection is made the more and more you research into their lives and find out more about them, it's almost as if you them sort of... i felt it was only fitting to take a trip to the cemetery and bring you guys along with me!
I know it's only short and sweet but i'm sure some of you will find it pretty interesting....

Great tribute to an un sung hero ..he saved the lives of so many young kids who would have ended up in prison…a true visionary of what he could see happening..
Really well put! I agree totally. He was decades ahead of his time and a true inspiration that changed policing as we know it. 💯

Nice touch to follow up the video. It’s a shame you can’t find out more about Bob and how he met his demise. I wonder how he spent his later years??
I know mate, it’s wrecking my head! I’m starting to think he might have been buried in a paupers grave. It’s so difficult to find out but I’m working on it 🫡

I think it's nice that you went out to pay the man your respects. It makes you wonder if he has any relations that are still living and pay his gravesite a visit. These are the things I think of while visiting my dad's and father-in-law's grave sites. Where my father-in-law is laid to rest there are some headstones of family friends. I could tell no one had been out to see them in over 20 years, so I made it a point to cleanup and polish their headstones last time I was out there. Seems their kids and grandkids moved out of state which explains the state of their headstones.
Well the story doesn’t end there. If you watch “The Scuttlers” video I did I mention Caminada in that and his daughter married a scuttler who killed another gang member and he was sentenced to the death penalty by hanging. They are both buried in southern cemetery where Caminada is! He must have been so ashamed. Aww that’s so kind of you Paul. I’m sure they would be very grateful to you for doing that. A little respect goes a long way. 👏🏼
Just think this is a great conclusion to last week's video, I've actually watched this twice now, so fascinated by Angel Meadow, the streets, the ragged schools. A fine resting place, top stuff mate👍👍

It's really wonderful that you've done this VLOG and taken the time to visit his grave. What an absolutely shame that his name is so badly worn from his memorial! Surely this is something Southern Cemetery, Manchester Council, GM Police (?) should be restoring when this man has given such service to Manchester? ... but I guess that's you and me again on the importance of gravestones! 😂 So glad you did this.

Would there be any info on Bob Horridge in the Manchester Police museum on Newton St?
I’ve tried mate but me and a few people are working on some detective work in the background 😉
There is a Robert James Horridge buried in Southern Cemetery. Buried 17 April 1919. Section D Grave Number 953.
Not sure if it is 'Bob' though.

I wonder if his name has faded because so many people have run their fingers over it over the years and essentially rubbed it out.
Kinda ironic.
Quite possibly, I still don’t know the answer. I found it odd that just his name had faded. I don’t think his family are alive anymore. I would love to pay to get it sorted out.
