- Sorry for the silence over the last week or two people! I have been hard at it at Daft Monkey H.Q Filming, Editing & Digging really deep into researching my latest video “The Angel Of The Meadow” on top of a full time job. But let me tell you it’s worth every second!
The video is coming together nicely and to be completely honest it’s S**t me up in parts 🙈 as I have gone for a cold, true crime documentary feel, and I have really bought out that chilling, unsolved murder mystery vibe to the table.
I’m trying my best to revive the story and capture that 1970’s Manchester Era - The coughed and spat on cobbles that once bared the weight of our Victorian ancestors…now tarmacked and covered over… The railway arches once housed horse & cart… now back street garages & “Cut N Shut” Shops… 🔧

My mind was blown when reading about this case, and even more so knowing it was in Angel Meadow… over 150 + years and this place is still churning out stories…From the Victorian slums, The Scuttlers & industrial life to a modern day murder mystery…where the victim & the killer have never been identified…
I honestly find it so hard to fathom how something like this has gone unsolved and no justice has been given to this poor woman. Hopefully the video can revive the case and possibly jog someone’s memories…who knows?

This filming is so factual, empathetic, and caring and poignant to me. I worked at the C.I.S., Miller St, in the 70s...which was at that time the tallest building in Manchester. The carpark where this lady was found was used for some of the staff members of the C.I.S.,I remember going into this carpark. At one time the carpark was surrounded by a large wall so it might explain why the horrible events weren't seen. I remember the style of clothing too popular in the mid to late 70s. So pleased you reported on this, it has always stuck in my mind, may the Angel rest in peace.xx

That was so very sad anthony, poor lady. I think I know that part of the cemetery and I will visit her when I'm next there 🌹, it was lovely of you to put some flowers on her grave. I love that's shes been called the angel of the meadow 🔴🟡🟢💞

I worked at the co op in that building cleaners alway reported hearing a women cry in the toilets in the core above where her body was found there's cctv footage in the staff shop of items flying off the shelves .

@@daftmonkey7296 cleaners worked 7 at night till 10 pm they was always reporting it to the security team i seen the footage of the items flying off the shelves cleaners thought a women was in the ladies toilet sobbing but no-one was their cleaners refused to clean the toilets on there own and would only do it in pairs everyone believed it must of been angel of the meadow .great work that you do thank you for your videos

I don’t think I’ve ever cried to a TH-cam video before. You’ve told her story to people who didn’t even know, thank you for doing that. I feel like in a way her once trapped soul can somehow be a little more free because you’ve got her story out there. Such a heartfelt video made respectfully. I hope she gets justice one day 💗💗💗

Brilliant and really moving. It defo sounds like Trevor Hardy. The barmaid story sounds about right too as he was a bully , and even if someone did know something about it they'd probably be too terrified of him to go to the police (apart from his brother thankfully)

I wonder if that eye witness agreed with the pencil drawing of the angel of the meadow . Very interesting fingers crossed this gets to the attention of other witnesses or maybe someone wishing to clear their conscience. Great video as expected

This is a riveting, harrowing gruesome story, to think a young woman brutally murdered and never identified, what a beautiful name they gave, a fitting tribute 😢.Thankfully you have told her story with such empathy and genuine compassion .❤

Great job pal. Brilliant piece of work. That Whittle testimony rings true with me. He seems to say she spoke english but may have been Dutch. If so, no wonder nobody reported her missing. Surely there's a missing person database to be cross checked somewhere. Seems to me that someone not done a thorough job at GMP?

Gulp made me cry, how beautiful your video was. I moved to Manchester in 1971 but don't remember the body being found in 2010. Poor lady. I remember seeing Stefan Kisko a few days after his release sitting resting on a brick wall with his shopping trolley by his side here in Rochdale. He looked so sad bless him. Thank you for sharing this video. I walk this cemetery 4 times a day to get to work and often wonder around it at weekends with my dog just reading headstones. Intrigued with the history of people that rest here. This is such a sad story and I will definitely be stopping to pay my respects to this lady. 🙏

This is an amazing video and I felt quite emotional watching it. I so wish that one day we will discover who this young woman was and who committed her murder. It is heartbreaking that this has remained an unsolved murder and the poor man who remembers clearly that dress must be truly haunted by this. I remember this case when it appeared on Crimewatch many years ago . It seemed so sad that someone could just disappear for decades and no one know or care . It was the name, Angel Meadow, that stuck in my mind as the name was at odds with the area as it was at the time this poor woman was found . I found your video very interesting and the way you dealt with the subject, very poignant . Talking to her at the end by her graveside and laying the flowers from all those who still remember or have watched your video, nearly had me in tears . Keep up the good work, great video. I shall certainly be watching some more now .

Really enjoyed this, you really can put a story together, I was also looking at your video of the Lancaster bomber crash site on Langley rd, top of Whit lane, I remember as a kid we used to play in the giant crater that it left and I’m sure there were still loads of metal bits of it all over the place, there is a picture online of the crater size just beyond the houses.

Such a heart felt video in memory of The Angel Of The Meadow which seems to be a name given with much thought and, respect, I remember the case and, I think she was given the name by one of the detectives working on the case just a flash of memory although I could be wrong. poor women, so much respect to you and your dad finding her resting place and, laying flowers😇💐🙏

I now want to find her identity. Did the old chap remember what pub he saw the barmaid in?
If so the landlady/landlord will know what staff they employed around that time.
Why hasn't this happened? It may have happened but it somehow feels its been put to bed and left now.. that's not good enough. Someone will have known her, and it really needs a dedicated group to start researching.

One recent twist in the tale occurred at the beginning of 2020 when a bloke called Alec Whittle went to the police with possible information regarding the victim.
In a piece written by the MEN, Alec recounts how in the early 70s, after just leaving the Army, he went out for a pint at a club in Longsight. As he entered and sat down at the almost deserted bar he got chatting to the barmaid, who was very chatty and also rather forthcoming with showing Alec a series of bruises on her neck and shoulders.
“She showed me all these injuries down her face and shoulder. She said she had no relatives here. I wanted to help her, I wanted to take her home to my parents house, but she refused and said she couldn’t.”
Then all of a sudden, a bloke came in and the barmaid became visibly frightened and told Alec to be quiet and sit down. These details had been playing on Alec’s mind for almost 50 years, and he believes that the woman he was speaking to that night was indeed the Angel of the Meadow.
Was it? Well, that’s just it, as well as with everything else in this case - nobody knows.
Even with Alec’s ‘eyewitness’ account the police are still none the wiser and the case remains just as cold as it was over ten years ago. The Angel of the Meadow has yet to receive the justice she deserves and by all reckoning - her murderer is still out there.

To think, I used to regularly use that car park when I was working in one of the Co-op buildings around Dantzic Street. They were dirt and brick car parks, where demolished buildings had been heavy rollered. At the back end of the site, a dirt and rubble mound had been scraped there by bulldozers to form a boundary wall. I've parked up against that many times and it would have been behind that where the body was found. I remember her being found and thinking that, many times I would have been only feet away from her. British murder cases are a fascination for me, but I'd never heard of Trevor Hardy until I saw a documentary on TV about him, a few years back. One of my neighbours is from the Moston/Harpurhey area originally, and when I mentioned the name, Trevor Hardy, she immediately replied with the name, Wanda Skala (his second known victim). His M.O fits this murder but it was a little out of his usual area, albeit it was still on Rochdale Road (roughly) that heads out of Harpurhey/Blackley of East Manchester.
Another brilliant story and very very sad at the same time. 😭 So sad that the monster who committed this crime was never brought to justice. Brilliantly told, thanks 🙏🙏
