  • The Chapel, The Well & Gems In The River”
In this video we explored the beautiful & deeply historic - Chadkirk Chapel !
I wanted to revive the history of this place and show you all just how beautiful it is! The chapel itself dates back to around the 16th century but the origins of the chapel have been lost through the mist of time.. it’s filled with beauty, mystery & even has its own well!
As well as exploring the chapel we ventured into the world of Mudlarking! Yes…Mudlarking! This basically means I went in the river Goyt In my waders, searching underwater for gems and remnants of the past! And as mad as that sounds, I couldn’t believe some of the stuff we found! The place is full of them!
I hope you enjoy the video and I can’t wait to share this one with you!
As always, thanks for the support and take care! This really wouldn’t be possible without you🙌🏼
    Big love - D.M 🐒 X

Thank you so much Chris. I always treat the history with the upmost respect as it was passed down to us from the people who graced this world before us. I hate it when historical monuments or buildings carelessly get pulled down or vandalised. Too much of this goes on and not enough respect. Hopefully if one person sees the video and it changes there mind going forward then it’s a job well done. Thanks once again and have a blessed day Chris 🙏🏼🙌🏼⭐️

That is a neat little chapel. I think it is pretty cool that there are so many sites that date back centuries many of them butting right up to new development. I have seen other people magnet fishing and thought about trying it, except the Santa Ana river is usually dry and you're more than likely to haul up hypodermic needles. I would have better luck at the headworks at the waste water treatment plant where I work. One of my coworkers found a $15,000 diamond ring and another a $100 bill.

Another top video mate, awesome content! Please keep these coming. These videos right up my street, history, exploration with a hint of the paranormal 👻 and a Fred Dibnah reference thrown in here and there for good measure "cheese butties again Donald" 😂 brilliant.
By the way I loved the Fred's house video mate, he was a legend!

Another amazing video Daft Monkey. I always love the wholesome way you talk about history.. like poetry. I love to see these places exist in Manchester and being remembered. Also love tea time 😂 my 5 year old was watching too and thought you found a bit of a treasure chest 😆

I'd love to see you and your dad do a collaboration with Mick and Sarah from Manchester Mudlarks, you both obviously are very interested in it, and I think it would be a fun video lol.
Those old graves fascinated me, I have a local cemetery, but the oldest graves in it are from the early 1800's. It always makes me think what life was like back then.

Wow I really enjoyed that! What a magical place, its nice to know there are still places hidden away like that, and well done for finding the Ford! Not sure what the cart wheel may be, im not familiar with the pits around there, my guess would be more mill related , possibly a machine cart or an internal mill cart but still an amazing find! 👏 the red bricks would also be from the mills, during demolition lots would have fallen or been thrown in along with alot of iron work and bits of old machines, it's tragic really but it does make for some good mudlarking 😁 great to see you both back!! 👍 💯💥

Think thats the top of a victorian stoneware water filter, and the tile looked like a minton or pilkington one. The carvings on that slab you pulled up looked roman in their design, but I doubt its that old - the back looked too fabricated. Nice finds, and another top video. Oh yeah, that wheel thing - my guess is the wheel of a cotton cart from a mill for shifting the raw bales.

That’s not disrespectful at all Terry it’s a complement mate. Growing on TH-cam is such a hard thing to do and you have to upload consistently (daily, weekly) to grow quicker unless you have a video that goes viral. Given the type of video’s I do, there’s no way I could film, edit & research them all within a week and on top of that juggle my full time job. I like to take my time and make sure the quality is there over the quantity if you get me.. thanks for the support and that’s definitely a compliment . Hopefully one day the subscriber count will rise but for now I’m happy and great full for the ones I have. Thanks for taking the time out to watch the video Terry, I really do appreciate it and take care mate ✌🏼🐒

Stockport Council ruined & commercialized this place decades ago . If you pan to your right you will see national grid pylons going straight thru Chadkirk valley country estate farm . opp's sorry closed local farm a jacent to chapel now inhabited by wardens on cheap wages accommodation included hence a once loved and used local community farm outlet gone ! . Don't worry though . the land surrounding the farm is so flat and on a flood plane i/m sure the gifted land to locals will soon go into private hinds and be built on within our children's life times !{ good luck with your council tax rebate with the sale BTW } . Grew up & Still Have property there sad to see it disintegrate to nothing but a side show .
