Is not one possibility that people dont want to fight for this country because of the realization that most of the things that make our lives cushy here, the amenities that we love yet take for granted, that alot of it we have because we screwed over a different nation or group of people to get it? That so many things that make our lives better in the US is built upon the suffering of other and the less fortunate, either it be the leas fortunate in our own country or in other places around the world. Im not saying this problem is unique to America. The other prime example is the UK. How can you expect people to be motivated to fight for a country, whos methods and morality they dont even agree with and hate?
