Thats when critical thinking comes in. You can’t just take a piece of information and believe it 100%. We received it, process it, clarify it before we make our own judgement. Yeah, a lot of youtubers are doing this, such as vtubers. Not only can you voice your opinions unfiltered, you can still live a normal life and be safe from any harm, unlike the celebrities out there.
There is something refreshing in your approach. Our culture has become dominated by people saying “look at me!” You just kicking intelligent thought provoking content, while being completely anonymous, is on point.

I always seen the world as binary energies, a bit like yin and yang i guess, capitalism and communism , or ego and consciousness. The western society is heavily based on egocentrism, and with the lack of religion which cultivate and manifest consciousness within individuals are not fulfilling that duty anymore. Well, I think there is more to unpack there with those masks. First and foremost there was the ancient tradition of taking on a persona when walking to the agora, a clear separation of public and private (as such allowes greater flourishing of the other: with no gathered inspiration from the outside your private suffers, without enough of the private your social suffers). Then there is also the tradition that states that it is better for ones merits to sway others rather than their charisma, as every bookwriter would rather be liked for what they have written in the book rather than how good the cover of their book looks. Also in the era of the internet it seems apropriate as a mask is closer in nature to traditions of choosing your own representations, labels, symbols and avatars that are to be displayed when engaged in a discussion. I could also give some other reasons, or polish up the already given ones, but I think I expanded on it already in somewhat sufficient manner. The point is: limiting it all mearly to something akin the Venetian traditions could lead up to a pauperisation of meaning in its potential totality.

I honestly think that the mask is more of a selfless move, I believe there is no way to hide yourself, even if you are “someone else” behind the mask, it’s still you in a certain way, and it doesn’t affect any of your relationships, be it friends, family, partner, even work. People are freed of the “oh he’s that guy’s (insert name of the relationship)”
