I've been religious for most of my adult life and have gravitated to traditional and orthodox teaching of Christianity. It's something I can safely raise my family in and It gives me a baseline to center my life around. I see a lot of people trying to outright forget or bastardize sacred tradition for the sake of adopting the ways of the world. To those who are not religious or possibly opposed to religion, just understand that humans to a greater or lesser degree will always have their fanatics, their zealots, their tribalistic ways. I've seen terrible things come from communities with no concept of something higher and concrete. Without a moral frame work for an entire society to work around.

It’s honestly deeply hurts to see my religion made fun of in such a way. It’s such a double standard because you know people wouldn’t do this to Buddhist, Muslim or Jewish religions because they would be worried about getting cancelled. The bible does say there will be false prophets multiple times one of the better exmaples is ( Matthew 7:15 "Watch out for false prophets. they come to you in sheeps clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves."
This is where Christianity as a whole has made a huge mistake. When Jesus told Peter "You are the church", he wasn't referring to Peter making a church or religion. He meant that YOU, the person, are the church.
Jesus didn't tell Peter that he was the Church, but that he is the rock on which It will be built : "And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it." - Matthew 16:18 Plus Jesus clearly refers to Peter only
God told us to believe and fight against what's wrong and to help non-christians believe in what is right. But we are falling apart, because we are scared of the world. We are starting to look like the rest of the world, we are starting to believe in the wrong things, just like the rest of the world. And if you are trying to be responsible, respect what is right, make clear what is wrong, they just look down at you and say: "What an idiot, he respects no one!". Just by helping someone do the right thing, other people see you as someone with no respect and treats you like a sinner worse than said people, saying that they respect all people equally, but you are the one not trying, because they know better, they blame you because you failed when you tried, but they never started. You are still a Cristian if you don't read your Bible, but if you do not read it, it's easier for your mind to get twisted.

As a christian, it sucks to see this, but this is an example of us trying to work with people only for it not to work. I agree there should be a balanced mix of progressivism and traditionalism, I've seen it happen in some churches, so it's not impossible. What is impossible is the fact that people dont care, and they will mock and spit at you for no reason and call you hateful or bigoted when you did nothing. That happened to me. Some lady, when she got triggered when i started to make sense, she mocked my dead uncle and her audience ganged up on me and joined her in mocking me even though i did nothing all because i am religious. Yes, this actually fucking happened to me. Stuff like this happens when you're trying to work with a people who don't give a shit about you but you try to do so for them. We are loving, peaceful, kind, and patient yet we work hard for what seems to be like nothing yet we keep on going. This is definitely pathetic but we are still here and we will grow stronger. Be certain of that.

Where is the list of canonical books within the Bible itself ? The Dead Sea Scrolls and Septuagint which are hundreds of years older than the masoretic text that Martin Luther used, contained those removed books. The church fathers (if you even know what that is) clearly claim and state many things not inline with Protestant theology and base a lot on those books Martin Luther removed. It’s painfully apparent nobody taught sola scripture, sola fide, sole gratia in the first thousand years of church history. You’re being guided by the devil not god sorry to say. As a Pentecostal Christian, I’ll never understand people like that. The Bible is extraordinarily clear, and says that it was divinely inspired. I remember my pastor asking, if we’re going to take a pair of scissors to the Bible, why accept any of it? It wouldn’t make sense to do that - either take *all* of it, or *none* of it. Now, I don’t know how them Catholics or Methodists work, but screwing with the words of a book that *your entire religion is based off of* is an incredibly foolish maneuver.
I'm Catholic so I can weigh in on this. Catholics adhere strictly to the Bible and its teachings in a literal sense, and we also have some traditions in how we worship during our Sunday service (Mass). Protestant churches vary, with the older ones being closer in style to Catholicism and the newer ones being more progressive and straying from the objective study of the Bible in favor of a personal interpretation of it. I can't speak for Methodists since I'm not one, but hopefully a Methodist finds this comment so they can help us understand their point of view

I am a very religious person, and I will admit I was not offended, but it hurt seeing the lies that people would spread to each other at that church because God did not give us those teachings in the Bible but I still love and respect everyone, because that is what God teaches us

As an evangelical nondem, I definetly admire Orthodoxy because of their reverence to tradition that kept them going through the ages. It is in these times that true Christians must put their differences aside and stand against heresies, wokism and other false teachings.

She has taken the Apostles Creed, a core element of Christianity, and twisted it into what she calls, the “sparkle creed” It’s clear she is trying to push an agenda with it.
As a Christian myself, it has saddened me to see people try and fit in their ideals even though it is clearly against our beliefs. Now of course, the people who believe and support these ideals are few and far between, and the denominations it is affecting is limited. It’s most common for Presbyterians, Lutherans, and the by far the worst of the worst, the Methodists. Now luckily Baptists, Eastern Orthodox, and Catholics have been doing well with only a few of their churches being affected.

Well, we are seeing what's been filling that vacuum. Tucker Carlson described it as a cult of transgenderism. I'm glad that orthodox Christianity has a firm stance on LGBT agenda. That's one of the reasons why I love my religion. Not only because it preserved our (Serbian) national identity throughout the centuries of foreign rule. Not only because it has always been one of the key pillars of our national identity itself. Also because it stands as a wall of protection for our common national sanity nowadays.
A lot of people here saying “as a Christian this or as a catholic that it’s hard to see other ‘christians’ do this”, but it’s important to realize that this isn’t Christianity at all. These people don’t love god, they might genuinely believe that they do, but it’s not the god that is portrayed in the Bible. If you love someone, you naturally would want to get to know them. How do we know god? we read the Bible. Unedited, not cuts, no pages ripped out. If they read the real bible, they would very quickly turn to hate god, once they realize the god that actually governs this universe is different from the god they created in their heads. Welcome to progressive Christianity, where nothing is ever real, nothing ever preached is preached with consideration of its context, we idolize our emotions, and the word of god is defiled, bastardized, and raked through the mud.
I’ve gone to church for most of my life, and seeing something like this and imagining that the next generation will learn from stuff like this is just absurd. What I find absurd is that people are emphasizing on things that they think will make Christianity more “trendy” and hopefully appeal to specified audience.

I found what was said to be absurd. Completely absurd and completely false. I find many things so called believers say to be absurd today. I've been religious for most of my adult life and have gravitated to traditional and orthodox teaching of Christianity. It's something I can safely raise my family in and It gives me a baseline to center my life around. I see a lot of people trying to outright forget or bastardize sacred tradition for the sake of adopting the ways of the world. To those who are not religious or possibly opposed to religion, just understand that humans to a greater or lesser degree will always have their fanatics, their zealots, their tribalistic ways. I've seen terrible things come from communities with no concept of something higher and concrete. Without a moral frame work for an entire society to work around.

And if you are trying to be responsible, respect what is right, make clear what is wrong, they just look down at you and say: "What an idiot, he respects no one!". Just by helping someone do the right thing, other people see you as someone with no respect and treats you like a sinner worse than said people, saying that they respect all people equally, but you are the one not trying, because they know better, they blame you because you failed when you tried, but they never started. You are still a Cristian if you don't read your Bible, but if you do not read it, it's easier for your mind to get twisted.

I agree there should be a balanced mix of progressivism and traditionalism, I've seen it happen in some churches, so it's not impossible.
What is impossible is the fact that people dont care, and they will mock and spit at you for no reason and call you hateful or bigoted when you did nothing. That happened to me. Some lady, when she got triggered when i started to make sense, she mocked my dead uncle and her audience ganged up on me and joined her in mocking me even though i did nothing all because i am religious. Yes, this actually fucking happened to me.
Stuff like this happens when you're trying to work with a people who don't give a shit about you but you try to do so for them. We are loving, peaceful, kind, and patient yet we work hard for what seems to be like nothing yet we keep on going.

As a Pentecostal Christian, I’ll never understand people like that. The Bible is extraordinarily clear, and says that it was divinely inspired. I remember my pastor asking, if we’re going to take a pair of scissors to the Bible, why accept any of it? It wouldn’t make sense to do that - either take *all* of it, or *none* of it. Now, I don’t know how them Catholics or Methodists work, but screwing with the words of a book that *your entire religion is based off of* is an incredibly foolish maneuver.
I'm Catholic so I can weigh in on this. Catholics adhere strictly to the Bible and its teachings in a literal sense, and we also have some traditions in how we worship during our Sunday service (Mass). Protestant churches vary, with the older ones being closer in style to Catholicism and the newer ones being more progressive and straying from the objective study of the Bible in favor of a personal interpretation of it. I can't speak for Methodists since I'm not one, but hopefully a Methodist finds this comment so they can help us understand their point of view

I am a very religious person, and I will admit I was not offended, but it hurt seeing the lies that people would spread to each other at that church because God did not give us those teachings in the Bible but I still love and respect everyone, because that is what God teaches us

As a Christian myself, it has saddened me to see people try and fit in their ideals even though it is clearly against our beliefs.
Now of course, the people who believe and support these ideals are few and far between, and the denominations it is affecting is limited. It’s most common for Presbyterians, Lutherans, and the by far the worst of the worst, the Methodists. Now luckily Baptists, Eastern Orthodox, and Catholics have been doing well with only a few of their churches being affected.
Add Episcopalians to that list with the Presbyterians....

Well, we are seeing what's been filling that vacuum. Tucker Carlson described it as a cult of transgenderism. I'm glad that orthodox Christianity has a firm stance on LGBT agenda. That's one of the reasons why I love my religion. Not only because it preserved our (Serbian) national identity throughout the centuries of foreign rule. Not only because it has always been one of the key pillars of our national identity itself. Also because it stands as a wall of protection for our common national sanity nowadays.
A lot of people here saying “as a Christian this or as a catholic that it’s hard to see other ‘christians’ do this”, but it’s important to realize that this isn’t Christianity at all. These people don’t love god, they might genuinely believe that they do, but it’s not the god that is portrayed in the Bible. If you love someone, you naturally would want to get to know them. How do we know god? we read the Bible. Unedited, not cuts, no pages ripped out. If they read the real bible, they would very quickly turn to hate god, once they realize the god that actually governs this universe is different from the god they created in their heads. Welcome to progressive Christianity, where nothing is ever real, nothing ever preached is preached with consideration of its context, we idolize our emotions, and the word of god is defiled, bastardized, and raked through the mud.
I’ve gone to church for most of my life, and seeing something like this and imagining that the next generation will learn from stuff like this is just absurd.
Edit: To be more specific, it isn’t what was said exactly that I find absurd. What I find absurd is that people are emphasizing on things that they think will make Christianity more “trendy” and hopefully appeal to specified audience.

I found what was said to be absurd. Completely absurd and completely false. I find many things so called believers say to be absurd today. They are taught outright lies that can easily be proven false. You would think that people would read the Bible and study it themselves instead of blindly following along.
