The History of Chip Ganassi Racing in NASCAR
NASCAR is a team sport much like many of professional sporting leagues around the world. Some of their teams have been around for over half a century, while others just entered the garage in the last few years.
This is NASCAR Team History. Much like many of our other videos, we look to do a deep dive into the history of NASCAR. In this series, we focus on the teams that field your favorite drivers.
Today we look at the NASCAR Operations of the once great Chip Ganassi Racing.
I appreciate all your support, thanks so much!

The Great Story of Kevin Harvick
มุมมอง 1.6K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
RE UPLOADED TO FIX AUDIO ISSUES NASCAR's history is one of triumph and tragedy. A driver who has had his fair share of heartbreak and triumph is Kevin Harvick. His time in the Cup Series was born from the greatest loss in the sports history. What he was able to accomplish under the most intense pressure was nothing short of incredible. Today @DarkzyYNS tells the great story of the Closer, Kevin...

NASCAR is a fiercely competitive sport, with 40 different teams racing inches away from each other for hours. The competition doesn’t stop with the drivers and teams though, there are competing sponsors in every single race. Coke vs Pepsi, Budweiser vs Miller, UPS vs Fed ex. All happening week in and week out, and I wanted to see who was on top in the sponsorship battles. Today we look at the M...

Gotta give a shout out to my man Ryan Sieg at the end. The true GOAT of the 39
Didn't Trickle do a lot of starts with 64? I remember that being his second most used number after 90. Or was that not in the cup series? He did get two wins in what is now Xfinity series, I think with that number. Might be worth a mention.
Update Castrol now has 2 two wins as I type this with Keselowski’s Darlington Win
Hey mate just for und your channel and love it can we get a greatest penalties or a greatest cheating moments
@@mrbigw100 I love it! Let’s see what we can do!
#84 was supposed to be my number in NASCAR, *smacks his lips* oh well, I guess I'll have to wait till he retires so I can get that number.
Hendrick Motorsports are the best team in the world.
HA HA GOOD ONE MATEO,,,
Michael mcdowell and Scott speed drove the 95 Scott speed 2012-2013 Micheal McDowell 2014-2017
Gordon isn't the only 5X winner at Indy, Michael Schumacher had 5 wins from '00-'06 (4 Poles also)... But I guess you weren't including the Indy Road Course as part of this video. But still; Love & Respect to the legendary Schumacher!
00 haàaaaaaaaaas Cole custer nascar cup 2025
#11 Mark Martin #12 Mike Alexander #13 David Starr, Garrett Smithley #14 Mark Martin, ran his final race in this car #15 Ross Chastain Honorable Mentions
should do a video on rick ware racing
Joey logano is from Rhode island
No he’s not lmao
F1: this driver performed the best this season, lets give him the championship! nascar: this driver performed the best this season, lets give the championship to the guy in 8th place!
Thanks for the mention, but we need to do Riverside
Delaware has and active track
When PPI failed to make the races with their #32 Front Row, would run the #32 to get in the race. I have more facts I'll mention on Discord
That’s great!
Jimmie Johnson fans are not real NASCAR fans.
How do you figure?
I’m surprised that there wasn’t an honorable mention for Kasey Kahne’s last win during the 2017 race
Interesting Xfinity stats: Justin Allgaier has finished in the top 10 in the 7 straight races at Darlington
That is a great stat!
Surprised honorable mentions didn’t include 1975’s World 600 where Dale Sr. Made his first Cup series or 1976’s World 600 as it was Janet Guthrie’s first NASCAR start or Dale Jarret’s win in 1996, as he went on to win three crown jewel races in the same year; having already won Daytona and going on to win the Brickyard 400 later that season (saving it for Indy?)
Not exactly NASCAR related but, the dirt oval on the complex hold host to one of the more notable Monster Truck Events of the year, The Back To School Bash with its legendary crossover ramp.
One of my favorite memories also ties to the tragic 2001 Daytona 500. An often forgotten story line was that this weekend was the return of Dodge to NASCAR and they did it by qualifying 2 cars on the front row. Personally, this was memorable for me not only because I was a life long Bill Elliott fan but, also because my grandfather had worked for the Penstar company back in the Lee Iacocca days.
Love it! Thanks for sharing
I think it’s awesome that IMS has seen its event roster diversify in recent decades. Indycar, NASCAR, F1 US Grand Prix (2000-2007), MotoGP Indianapolis Grand Prix (2008-???? Anyone know?), Red Bull Air Race, Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series (2012-2013), IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship (2014, 2023-present, becoming a 6-Hour race this year), and SRO (Stephane Ratel Organization) GT World Challenge America having an 8-hour race that’s also part of the Intercontinental GT Challenge since 2020, taking over from Laguna Seca. Did I mention that a half-marathon includes the track in the course route? My best Indy memory is the 2001 US Grand Prix, held just weeks after the devastating attacks in New York and Washington DC. Many of the teams put tribute decals on their cars, including US flag 🇺🇸 decals (Ferrari painted their cars’ noses black as their tribute), and even though the crowd size was down from last year, it was still the best-attended Grand Prix that year. That support was reciprocated with a stellar race, full of on-track overtaking, different strategies, and even a fairytale result, with Mika Hakkinen, in what would be his penultimate F1 start, score his final F1 win. Just don’t get me started on 2005’s Tiregate.😡
It’s in newton. Nobody from newton goes there because you can’t smoke a racetrack
Didn't know Blaney was from Ohio? His dad was literally called the "Buckeye Bullet"
A another driver you forgot is snider who drove in the 19
Born and raised near Chemung NY where the Bodines are from. Geoff and his bros lived in Elmira for a while. Their dad and grandpa built Chemung Speedrome. The family doesnt own the track anymore but its still open. I met Todd and Geoff, Todd at his last truck race at Pocono (should have been WGI), and Geoff last month at Martinsville. :D Now I only need to meet Brett. Reagan is from the Syracuse area, not far from Chemung. :D PA had a driver that was working up his way up the ranks. Blaise Alexander JR. He was best friends with Jimmie Johnson. Blaise died in a deadly crash in Oct after Sr. The other driver involved in the wreck was Kerry Earnhardt. :O I believe Kerry did a Sr move and caused the wreck. JJ put a memorial decal on the front left corner of his car. And dedicated his first win to Blaise.
This is awesome!
Bring Back The #07, The #27, The #29, And Have Richard Childress Racing, As A 5-Car Team, Rather Than Being Just A 2-Car Team.
Homestead-Miami Speedway, Needs To Go Back, As The Final Race Of The NASCAR Season.
I agree!
I am assuming no love for Lucas Oil, Kendall, and Beard Oil due to their lack of wins. Same for Marathon but, my no Citgo?
i went to the WBR Museum after Martinsville and was impressed by the items they have. I highly recommend a stop there. I got Len, Lenoard & Eddies autograph. Richard had no issues with Kyle racing for WB, but im sure on the track it was a diff story haha. If you look at the painted numbers and sponsors on the early cars you can see a difference, thats because they were done by diff people. A true art form in racing gone. :( I rem sadlers first win with WBR. I liked him on my list of other drivers to watch after that. I forgot Trevor only ever got a single win. Sad. HB is leaving the team after this yr and one of the SHR guys is gonna fill his spot. Where HB goes i dont know. But he is an ok driver, lead a few laps here and there but nothing big. Idk they helped win the one Indy 500. Bodine Bros are my connection to NASCAR.
Great vid, but Newman made 2019 playoffs and was barely missed the Round of 12 and he raced in the 6 car in 2021.
Busch last win at Fontana 🤠🤟🏼
Bonus Honorable Mention: Technically not a NASCAR moment but Ganassi’s back to back Rolex 24 wins in ‘06 and ‘07 were huge. Casey Mears and Juan Pablo Montoya were apart of those. It was the first time since 1986-87 that an owner won back to back Rolex 24’s and then in 2008 they added a third
I may have missed it but, did you touch on the sponsorship black black regarding DC Solar? This may have been a contributing factor to the team’s willingness to sell. It definitely is what basically ended their Xfinity operation. Honorable Mention moment for me was Marlin grabbing the Dodge Intrepid’s first win at Michigan.
I didn’t touch on that nor did I know that! Thanks for the great fact!
When you do a front row Motorsports video I hope you cover the 2005 Pepsi 400 Hermie Sadler #92 Taco Bell car. It was the first race Bob Jenkins ran with one of his restaurants represented on the car.
bowmanfan from the future here, cindric just took the W a few weeks ago at gateway 🎉🎉
If you are only showing winners I understand but one of the Drivers you didn't mention driving the No. 44 Was Kyle Petty. The Number 44 was one of my favorites because the Paint schemes of Hot Wheels The Diecast maker Mattel Made it's First 1/24 scale from this Number. I have one, it is one of the Best Paint schemes Ever.
This is a great mention!
Wish they made a comeback as a part time team
12:00 I don't think they would
I think they would, but let me know why you think they wouldn’t, I’d love to hear!
I think they would, but let me know why you think they wouldn’t, I’d love to hear!
I didn't know a driver from upstate New York won the title with one win.
The more you know! It’s a cool story!
Logano has always raced like a b*tch
I miss CGR being in NASCAR. It was neat having an owner from my hometown in the sport. I briefly worked for a car dealership owned by his family.
You left out Dale Earnhardt Daytona victory
Richard Childress please do RCR podcasts
Aye keep up the good vids, quality is definitely not 4k subscriber worthy hope you can get more views 🙏
I appreciate that! Thanks a ton!
