- NASCAR is a team sport much like many of professional sporting leagues around the world. Some of their teams have been around for over half a century, while others just entered the garage in the last few years.
This is NASCAR Team History. Much like many of our other videos, we look to do a deep dive into the history of NASCAR. In this series, we focus on the teams that field your favorite drivers.
Today we look at NASCAR's premier Toyota team, Joe Gibbs Racing.
I appreciate all your support, thanks so much!

It’s amazing that they have had the same logo since 1992
I’m a big fan of it honestly haha!
JGR short history reads like a Whose Who list of NASCAR so many talented Drivers.
In a shorter time than most, they have certainly hosted some INCREDIBLE drivers.
Thanks for mentioning Ricky Craven!
The tide 32 car was my favorite as a kid, still is today ❤️
I couldn’t forget him!
Weird fact: Edwards had 6 sponsors in 2015-2016. Each of his wins were with a different one. Stanley Tools did not see victory lane.
Huh, the more you know! I know I saw an Arris and a Subway win in 2015 haha
I love a good oddball fact
@@Whathandleisavailable they are honestly the best facts to know!
Wood Brothers Racing: the 1976 Daytona 500 finish between David Pearson and Richard Petty crashing to the finish line, with Pearson coming out on top
Love it!
Memorable moments: 2022 coke 600 when Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch were battling for the win on the final overtime
Very solid moment!
I forgot Labonte was with JGR, very underrated Driver. One of my top fives!
Absolutely!
If he's in your top 5 how you forget about his championship year lol in the 18 for jgr kinda his biggest moment in cup lol.
John Wright won the numbers first win in 1949 (18)
Hon men wood Brothers, 2017, Pocono first win in six years
Memorable moment Trevor Bayne rookie wins the Daytona 500
Don't forget back in 2016 KFB switched the 18 to a 75 the for all star race.
Very true!
I consider my self as a NASCAR die hard watching near every race since like 2000 and I've learned a few new things from you in this series, I never knew Rick Hendrick drove I didn't know Lagono drove the 02. And a few other things
I love to hear that! Thanks for watching and I’m glad you are enjoying it!
2022 Was Still The Best Season As A CBell Fan
I can imagine!
It's fascinating how Joe Gibbs Racing grew into the organization that it is today
They certainly haven’t had many bad seasons!
Just another great video well done you and the team just handle business on these! And Happy that Bobby’s heartbreak got on here!
For the wood brothers
Not really a big fan of theirs but honorable mentions
Mikey’s 1996 Winston select win
Sadler’s Bristol win
Ricky Rudd/ Harvick Feud
Blaneys win
-Pib
All great mentions! Thanks for the kind words!
In attendance at Darlington and Charlotte u must be from around here. I live in Gaffney SC beside between Spartanburg and Clevland counties.
I’m actually in Kentucky, but I go to a LOT of races 😅
Update CBell is in the Final 4!! Now for Hamlin to lock himself in for JGR
The videos on this page have a habit of helping a driver featured in the video haha 😂
Your exactly right Joey did nothing wrong at kansas Kenseth blocked him and Joey didn't cut no slack.
YOU THE 🐐 FOR THIS STATEMENT RIGHT HERE
What about Mark Martin finally drove for JGR because of Hamlin's injury in 2013 which also his final season of NASCAR career. Mark could've drive in 2006 or 2007 by leaving Jack Roush.
Great point!
David Pearson has won the most races in woods brothers history with 43 wins
Thanks for the info!
Thanks for half of those Wins Busch
No kidding 😂
14:41 I been subscribed when you made number history 1-5
Aye! Your 7 years of good luck starts now! 😎🔥
I feel like the 18 will return once Hamlin hangs up his helmet.
Him or MTJ yeah. I think they will keep the 11 and ditch the 19
@@DoglegMediaMatt That's another possibility.
Honorable mention: Blaneys first cup win in the 21 car
Love it!
LOVE IT HOSS
🐐 🔥
Denny is definitely the best on the team right now, but before it was Busch ,
daniel suarez almost won the 2018 all star race that’s crazy to me
That is true!
Denny at 54 now
12:35 💪🐐
He’s got talent for sure, I see him being a champion before long!
@@DoglegMediaMatt I really hope that happens I will be so happy
I didn't know Terry drove the 11 either and I just assumed that since Denny was 11 in his younger days I just assumed he picked 11 I had forgot about it being here before Denny.
Ty has gotten more mature this season.
I agree 100%. I find myself actually rooting for him
I agree. But he'd have to go in utero to be less mature
Joe Gibbs getting rid of the historic 18 was stupid. Sure they wanted Ty to bring up the 54...
But why not move Truex to the 18. Denny might take the 11 to 23XI at some point so why not suspend the 19 number temporarily? I mean, when I think JGR I think of the 18, the 20 and the 11. But getting rid of the JGR 18 is like if Hendrick did away with the 24 or 48.
I personally think Hendrick should replace the 48 with the 25 haha
@@DoglegMediaMatt48 is legendary for hendrick, most championships out of them all. 9 is bill's number and his son is now driving it but if they have to replace a number, they should replace 9 with 25, also chases first number
You forgot 02 and 96 for Joey Logano’s 2008 season as part time
I definitely did miss the 96, you are correct! Thanks for the addition!
Actually, never mind
@@SamCarCollection-yx2ti yeah 96 was hall of fame racing lol
@@DoglegMediaMattyou also forgot 2016 all star race Kyle Busch 75 car
You missed the number 81 that was part time for Joe Gibbs during the 2008 and 09 season it was driven by elliott Sadler for four races
Holy moly, I did haha
@@DoglegMediaMattholeh moleuh
What about the 78?
Edward got shifted worse than anybody, it made him stop racing
10:56 HE DID OBVIOUSLY 😡 HE COULD HAVE GONE LOW OR JUST CHECKED UP
I knew this would not be a favorable statement to make 😂😅
@@DoglegMediaMattand that's why I hate Joey Logono
Wood Brothers:
1976 Daytona: Pearson vs. Petty, both crash and Pearson wins
1991 Michigan: Jarrett beats Allison for the win
1986 Richmond: Kyle Petty gets win #1
Very solid mentions!
Silver spoon has matured in his rookie season. Maybe logano scared the crap outta him. Lol
He’s ran about as well as Logano this season haha 😂
Great video. But not a team I like in least. For. Reasons
Hey, I’m in that same boat 😂
Love this video.
Sorry, I’m team Kenseth though. I can’t stand Logano. lol
I knew it would be a very unpopular opinion, thanks for not holding it against me 😂😎
@@DoglegMediaMattno problem. You can have your opinion. Thanks for letting me have mine.
Yeah I like all the Gibbs drivers. I wasn’t huge on Suarez and I only tolerated Edwards when he moved to Gibbs, only ever pulling for him when he won the 2015 Southern 500… I also couldn’t stand Kevin Harvick for a long time
I actually used to like Logano. Even after he moved to Penske. It wasn’t until 2019 where he started to rub me the wrong way. 2020 Bristol Fall race cemented it for me. lol
@@kylitoskorner8078 2020 Bristol fall was definitely a BAD move for him 😂
@@DoglegMediaMatt yeah dude. I was so mad. Kyle Busch was faster than Harvick and had FINALLY GOT BY and Giggles Logano decided to block him and let the 4 get back by. I was so angry after that race. 😆
Fourth
🔥🔥🔥🔥
20:30 who is the driver
Brandon Jones haha
Win 208*. That's a error now lol
My videos have a habit of having their history changed rather quickly 😂
@@DoglegMediaMatt haha yes every weeked!
@@Crazy_Duck that’s the fun of it!
15:36 WHAT I’m not making a dogleg media diecast anymore
At least I recognize talent!
@@DoglegMediaMatt true
20:30 WHO?
Brandon Jones last season haha
