Even though he's only 17, I believe William Sawalich should be Minnesota's first full time driver in Nascar if Toyota sees their plan through with Sawalich soon, but of course things could change.
Hey y’all I’m seeing a lot of similar comments, so thought I would clear something else up. Just because I didn’t mention a driver by name doesn’t mean their accomplishments are not counted for the states totals. Was hoping to be pleasantly surprised on Oklahoma, but I knew Bell is the only notable NASCAR driver from Oklahoma. I was hoping there was one obscure winner from the 50’s. Aw well. Like you said. Bell is young, and our state is in great hands
Wisconsin does have some talented current drivers, between Sam Mayer, Derek Kraus, Ty Majeski, and Josh Bilicki, but I could only really see Mayer winning a cup race out of those 4 because of how young he is, although we also have Luke Fenhaus, who is a very talented young driver and I could see him being successful in cup, and there are many good young drivers at this point too, one of those being Penn Sauter, Johnny Sauter’s son

You should do a breakdown by the state of all drivers similar to the numbers video so it can show every driver.(all drivers who drove car number and won. We were hoping to see every winner from their state. Especially considering how many came from North Carolina, arent actually from there. (Maybe also a quick part of countries with winning drivers).

I’m seeing a couple of sources saying the same too. Almost every credible sight shows olive branch, I’ve heard that it’s only because Memphis is the closest hospital to olive branch?
Interesting fact while this guy only had two nascar starts George Bauer made the 1969 Daytona 500, he was born and raised in Lenoxburg Kentucky right down the road from me while he passed away in 2008 his families shop is still going strong to this day of Bauers Garage down in Germantown Kentucky just an odd fact I figure I put in. I never got to meet him he died when I was 7 I knew his aunt and she lived to be 100 years old and owned a country store that’s called the Lenoxburg store that is still going strong to this day. There’s a TH-cam video out there somewhere of him spinning in the infield grass at Daytona I’ll have to find it somewhere I remember my mom showing me it when I was in middle school and thought it was the coolest thing ever
The Blaney's, Rahal's & Cindrics are the most successful ohio racing families. Among others. Ohio has many "cool" people Dean Martin, Paul Newman, Tim Richmond & Eddie Rickenbacker, among others. Another NASCAR Legend from Ohio is Banjo Mathews Best known for having constructed many cars in the 70s & 80s, including 72% of the winning cars in the top NASCAR division from 1974 to 1985 (262 wins in 362 Cup races). However the stat he was most proud of was that no driver was ever killed driving a Banjo Matthews-built car. Roger Penske is also from Ohio Penske is one of the greatest racing teams in US history NASCAR & INDYCAR too.
There’s some up and coming drivers from Colorado that I hope can get to the cup series but they are young. Chris Eggleston would be the best shot currently but he’s a home racer now.

i'm from Connecticut and tbh i only knew of Nutmeg State and Constitution State, with the latter being the more common. the other 2 i never heard of. Also, I think Preece could secure a Cup Series win. He's got a pair of wins in both Xfinity and Truck, coupled on that he's a Whelen Modified Tour champion and an SK Modified at my local track, Stafford Speedway. I say he's got what it takes to get a win
As a Nascar fan from Connecticut I refuse to accept Joey Logano as a true Nutmegger. Just because you're born somewhere doesn't mean thats where you're from. While I see where the idea from the video comes from I refuse to accept anyone who didn't drive modifieds as not just a racer from Connecticut but not a racer from the Northeast.
@chrisbarrettFilmstudio he actually spent quite a few years in Connecticut. Starting in quarter midgets then Late Models. Later he and his family moved to Georgia so he can further his racing career. But since Logano started racing in Connecticut then he technically is a true Nutmegger as you put it
@@titanironwolf7986 I mean yes he may have raced late models but Connecticut is known for being the home of the SK Modifieds and just modified racing in general. I mean Dick Breggren has more wins at full sized tracks in Connecticut than Joey Logano does. My arguement is that Joey left because he couldn’t follow his path in Connecticut so he left and never came back. Drivers like Jerry Nadeau, Ryan Preece, and Randy Lajoie all made it to the show without having to leave.
Also if we would count virtual racing accomplishments not limited to NASCAR NC has the unique distinction of producing the United States' only Gran Turismo Hall of Famer and only virtual motorsport 'Grand Slam' winner (Daytona 500, 24 Hours of Le Mans, Indianapolis 500 and Monaco Grand Prix) (me), which is one better than the only driver in history to achieve the triple crown (24hr Le Mans, Indy 500, Monaco Grand Prix) in real life racing (Graham Hill). Self-aggrandizing, I know, but that's the way it goes sometimes.

@Dogleg Media, I am from New York and when I saw the stats for the state, I thought you were pulling my leg. I just wish Geoff Bodine was inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame. He seems like a good candidate, especially his performance level from 1984 to 1990, when he was contending for championships. Without him, Hendrick Motorsports wouldn't exist and we wouldn't have other Winners, Veterans and Hall of Famers (This includes Geoff Bodine, Ricky Rudd, Terry Labonte, Kyle Busch, Mark Martin, Kasey Kahne, Kyle Larson, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Chase Elliott, William Byron, Tim Richmond [R.I.P.], Ken Schrader, Jerry Nadeau, Casey Mears, Brian Vickers, and Alex Bowman). Bodine's stats are nothing to scoff at either. In 29 Years and 575 Starts, Bodine has 18 Wins, 100 Top 5s, 190 Top 10s, 37 Poles, Led 8683 of 159192 Laps Run, 159 Lead Lap Finishes, 169 DNFs, 22 DNQs, 3 WDs, An Average Start of 14.1, An Average Finish of 18.6, and A Best Points Finish of 3rd (1990). I'm also surprised about Regan Smith, he always seems like a Southeast or Midwest native. However, I really wish he had more time in the Cup Series, great mention.

@@josephharrison5639 ohhhhh I misunderstood army brat haha. I too enjoyed 1st and 2nd grade here 😂
Don’t worry guys we still got Keith McGee
Brad Keselowski & Erik Jones are from my home state
Not bad company!
And I have the Waltrip's and Mayfield in my home state (for the love of God someone better not mention "the thing")
Delaware has an active track.
I didn't know a driver from upstate New York won the title with one win.
The more you know! It’s a cool story!
If Preece wins it will most definitely be at a short track or New Hampshire
someone might of already said this, but at the beginning, you said New Hampshire is the only state to have an active track with no winner. So does Delaware and Dover Motor Speedway
Yeah I can’t believe I missed that, especially considering Dover is my favorite track! 😅
Aye that’s awesome that you learned something about your home state! That was the ultimate goal, and I definitely think Geoff has a case!
@@DoglegMediaMatt Thanks. I honestly didn't think you'd respond. Big fan of your videos.
Also, (Just a suggestion for a future video), could you do a United States of NASCAR for the Xfinity and Truck Series?
@@jareddiamond5133 It could happen 👀
@@DoglegMediaMatt Cool
The sauters are from Minnesota cause they were all born in Stillwater and it’s the only city that will let u use wisc
Technically not cup drivers, but Jerry Cook and Richie Evans are both Hall of Famers from New York
Great additions!
No doubt Florida would be looking much better in the wins and championship talley if Davey Alison hadn’t been tragically killed.
This is the realest comment right here. Davey was special
Honorable mentions for non winners most known for their dirt career
Arkansas has another driver jarred landers also from bastesville he raced the first mud summer classic
Illinois has Bobby pierce
Tennessee has Scott Bloomquist
West Virginia has Tyler Carpenter
This is exactly what I was hoping to get for honorable mentions! Thanks!
@@DoglegMediaMatt Indiana has Rico abreu
Tony Stewart is from Columbus man.
Ricky Stenhouse was actually born in Memphis, Tennessee. So Lake Speed is the only winner from Mississippi
Memphis is 5 minutes away and most people from Olive Branch were actually born in Memphis including myself
I checked so many sources on this and I just found that you are right, thanks for the info! Almost everything showed olive branch, but hearing it from a local is way better than any internet article! You rock!
what is that 1 at 31:50
I messed up the the original graphic showed 0 hall of famers so that was a very poor attempt to fix it in post 😂
You forgot Kyle Petty, & I thought Benny Parsons was a taxicab driver from Detroit.
His win totals were counted, I just didn’t have time to get to everyone. Thanks for watching!
@@DoglegMediaMatt benny parsons was also a champion
@@aviationlaa yeah I didn’t categorize him correctly, but his championship was included in the state’s numbers
its hereeeee
Yes it is!
It would have taken me everything not to make a joke about Dick Lender
There’s a driver named Dick Passwater, and that one gets me everytime
Yeah the 3 Dick's of the sport have interesting last names Dick Lender Dick Passwater and Dick Trickle
Yep.
Didn't know Blaney was from Ohio? His dad was literally called the "Buckeye Bullet"
I know it's not a state, yet what about Washington DC/District Of Columbia? I assume not, yet I am curious 😂
That’s a good point! Luckily I do know for a fact there has never been a winner from there, but I wonder when that will change!
@@DoglegMediaMattthat's what I figured 😂 thank you for the reply! I could see Minnesota winning a Cup race once William Sawalich moves up the ranks and maybe New Mexico with the Gray Brothers
@@TheRedAssassin1 they are definitely great possibilities! Hopefully this offseason I make a video to update these stats with this years winners! Oklahoma and Arizona have added some more wins to their relatively small win totals!
@@DoglegMediaMatt that would be cool and if you make an updated video after this Season I would be looking forward to watching the video! I like your channel and your work and I respect all the research you did not just for this video, all of your videos
-cries in coloradan- i'm in a nascar desert T_T
We should come back to pikes peak!
I think Michael Waltrip has only won 4 times in his career, not 5
Yeah I misspoke, but the total wins of 98 is correct. Good catch!
Technically he won an Allstar race before 2001.
He also won the 2011 truck opener at Daytona
Also on February 18th how does 2 of his wins in the series that he has a combined 5 wins come on the same day 10 years apart those being the first and last wins he had in those series combined
And what about Aric Almirola?? Florida native.
His numbers are included in the win total, I just didn’t verbalize him
Isn’t Aric Almirola from Florida???
Yes, his numbers are included, I just didn’t verbally mention him
I want Ben Rhodes to join cup so bad...
It would be nice 😭
Are the All Star races not counted here? Sam Hornish Jr won the sprint showdown in 2009 and he was born in Archbold Ohio
Only points paying races haha but great mention!
Davey Allison was born in Alabama. So Florida's and Alabama's race wins are wrong. Also, you can add Red Farmer to Florida's Hall of Fame list.
So a few things:
Davey was born in Hollywood Florida, while raised in Alabama, he was born in Florida.
Red Farmer is a Hall of famer from Tennessee not Florida haha
‘Bout the only thing Minnesota has going for it is a dead 4 banger driver(ChristianElder) I raced against him for years,if it wasn’t for daddy’s checkbook- well, you know the rest.
William Sawalich is from Minnesota as well, he has some talent!
26:10 Eanhardt
I guess you only count Cup wins because Rick Carreli from Colorado won some truck races.
That is correct, just cup for this one!
