- NASCAR is a unique sport when it comes to it’s schedule and Venues. During a typical season they will visit 25+ unique tracks to make up their marathon of a season.
I’m a history buff, who loves racing, especially NASCAR, and wanted to learn more about the hallowed grounds that host my favorite sport.
In this Episode, we take a look at the History of Homestead-Miami Speedway.
I appreciate everyone's support!

honorable mentions for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway video:
the inaugural Brickyard 400 in 1994 is Nascar's most-attended event, an estimated 250,000 spectators, in this same race when Jeff Gordon won that inaugual Brickyard 400.
20 years he wins the 21th Brickyard 400 in 2014.
You got it!!!
I miss Homestead being the final race of the season. The atmosphere there just looks right for it. The season starts at Daytona in Florida, and it ends in Miami, Florida. Very fitting.
I agree 100%
@DoglegMediaMatt I first saw this track on TV in the 2011 Ford EcoBoost 400 when Tony Stewart beat Carl Edwards in one of the greatest championship battles in Nascar history. Also, as a Jimmie Johnson and Kyle Busch fan, I had a lot of good memories of Homestead being the season's last race in 2013, 2015-2016, and 2019.
@@kjprodouctions9050 you definitely saw some incredible moments!
@@DoglegMediaMatt Yep. All of them are special. The 2013 race had my 3rd favorite Cup driver, Denny Hamlin, win the race and Jimmie Johnson win his 6th championship. So that was a bonus. But the most special to me had to be 2016. When's the next time you get to see a 7 time champion in the Cup Series. Plus, I got to share that victory with my mom, who was very happy for me because she knew how much it would mean to me if Jimmie won. Shame that was the last race Sprint sponsored the series
I'd love to see it the cutoff for round of 8
I remember when Bill Elliott broke that long winless drought at Homestead
It was something else!
Honorable Mention for Indianapolis, Dale Jarrett started the tradition of kissing the bricks in 1996 when he won the Brickyard 400
Awesome and iconic moment!
Honorable mention, for Indianapolis Kyle Busch, back to back, wins at the Brickyard😊
Love it! Great mention!
Honorable mentions for the Brickyard:
1992 test (before the warmup lanes were added)
1995: Dale Earnhardt wins, then goes on (I think) Letterman and claims that he was the first to win the Brickyard 400 (because Jeff Gordon won the first Brickyard 400 in 1994)
2020: first NASCAR/IndyCar doubleheader; first Xfinity race on road course
2021: first Cup race on road course
2023: last race on road course; announcement of the return of the Brickyard 400
Love it! Thanks a ton!
2002 was a painful one. Joe Nemechek had that one pretty well locked up until late pit stops. One of the 5 or 6 races that he coulda/woulda/shoulda won.
1997 saw him win the Busch Grand National race, after his little brother John was killed in Trucks there in March
Great mention, thanks a ton!
A few honorable mentions for Indy.
The inaugural Brickyard 400 in '94
Jeff Gordon's 5th Brickyard 400
Ryan Newman's record setting qualifying lap in 2013
Kasey Kanes final Cup victory in 2017
Matt Kenseth's last career Top 5 in 2020
The 2008 Tire Debacle
Tony Stewart & Kevin Harvick's duel in 2007
Kevin Harvick winning 2 Brickyards in a row in 2019 & 2020
Darrell Waltrip's front row start in 2000
Michael Mcdowell winning the Indy Road Course this year
AJ Allmendinger winning the first Indy Road Course in 2021
Also you forgot to mention Kyle Larson's ass stomping of the 2022 Miami Race......As a Larson fan, I'm offended XD
Love it! Thanks a ton!
My honorable mentions for the Indy Motor Speedway are Dale Jarrett starting the tradition of Kissing the Bricks and Jeff Gordon winning the race 20 years apart.
The brick kissing tradition has to make it!
Homestead-Miami Speedway, Needs To Go Back, As The Final Race Of The NASCAR Season.
I agree!
Honorable Mention: Micheal Mrucz Eutechnyx Saga: Nascar ‘15 Season at Indy: Mikey Walnuts (Micheal Waltrip) goes airborne and nearly hits the pylon
Hmmmmmm great mention!
I was goin to be mad if u didnt include drunk brad. Thats honestly more memorable than the championship victory
100% 😂
HIM CUASE IM FIRST FASTER THAN JIMMIE JOHNSON HIM.
RIZZZZZY
The track was initially reconfigured because John Nemechek, Joe's brother, was killed in a wreck during the '96 race, and Matt had 26 top-10s in '03.
Thanks for the info and for watching!
@nascarsteve it was '97
thanks@@IngridClay-ch4sf
The 2012 Homestead race was interesting. Jeff and Clint finish 1 2 after Jeff wrecked Clint in the previous race at Phoenix and a big brawl would ensue.
That is true! Jeff’s only Homestead win!
@@DoglegMediaMatt Yep along with being the last win for the DuPont Sponsorship era.
@@MidnightMoon2267 ohhhh yeah!
For Indianapolis: Jeff Gordon's 5 Brickyard 400 wins
Love it! Great mention!
Honorable mentions for Indianapolis Motor Speedway:
1994 Brickyard 400 most attended event when Jeff Gordon won that race
2011 Brickyard 400 Paul Menard won
1996 Brickyard 400 Dale Jarrett kissing the bricks
2008 Brickyard 400 tire failrue
Love all of this! Thanks a ton!
i went to the 2018 season finale at miami and my dad was pissed cuz truex lost 😂
good video as always!
I appreciate this! Thanks a ton!
For Indianapolis I'd love to see the Chastain short cut of a life time as well as the chaos of the Briscoe vs Hamlin battle. Throw in the absolute clownery that was the first race with the COT and finally while not NASCAR throw in the 2005 US Grand Prix which cause of a MASSIVE tire war and how awful both FIA and Indianapolis handled it cost them not only the Grand Prix but it took a long time to get back into US markets as well if I recall.
All great mentions! Thanks a ton, we will get at least one of these in!
I have some honorable mentions like Kyle Busch and Martin Treux Jr crash in 2017 and also Clint Bowyer and Kurt Busch crash in 2017 and Kyle Petty 1996 hard crash that injuired him and Jeff Gordan driving the 88 and Tony Stewart final victory lap around Indianapolis in 2016.
Great mentions for sure!
I really would’ve thought that the video should have started with the best race ever but it’s fine
Lmfao you know the personal bias is REAL 😂

Classic dogleg mistake
Bill Elliott Ending longest losing streak in Nascar history
I’m upset with myself for not having this, thanks for the addition!
@DoglegMediaMatt it's easy to not remember. I was such a big Elliott fan unfortunately at the tailend of his career
Matt, why you don't mentioned my name in the honorable mentions
I’m sorry! I try to hit everyone’s mentions, but I definitely do miss sometimes. Make sure to give me an Indy mention and you will definitely make the next one! Thanks so much for watching!
You have to skip the 2008 Brickyard 400 in the Indy vid lol
Jimmie won, that was about the ONLY good thing about that day 😂
@DoglegMediaMatt dude im telling ya! Jimmie and Carl's battle that day was the 2000s coming to head. Great racing, but damnnn goodyear looked dumb ever since
@@roymcdre9180 now the tire is too good 😂
Not a positive moment, but we lost John Nemechek in a crash at homestead
Very true, RIP
1995: Dale Earnhardt is the first “man” to win the Brickyard 400
The shade thrown is real 😂
Second again lol
Hey Chili!
You keep forgetting auto club
Yeah…. At this point it’ll be the off season haha, im gunna use the excuse that it’s no longer a cup track 😂
paul menard brickyard 400 wins in 2011 ok
That’s a great one!
Jimmie Johnson fans are not real NASCAR fans.
How do you figure?
