What's more impressive is that since the 1960s they won a race every decade they raced. That Bristol win was their only 2000s win. Now thanks to Burton you can add the 2020 decade.
I grew up with my dad and uncle pulling for the 21 every week. Harrison Burton is about 22 years old, so I think Penske/Wood will be patient with him. I also think the new Dark Horse Mustang might be a winner for Ford. I think he might give WBR win #100 in 2024...

I saw my first NASCAR race in 1968 at the Atlanta spring race. I was 7. A kid named Cale showed them the way to the checkered flag that day and he, and The Woods Brothers became my heroes that day and they still are all these years later.
A little back story to that is when we got ready to go home the old Studebaker we went up there in didnt have any oil pressure. My Dad and my Uncle worked on it and we walked over to the fence at the Cup garage. The Woods Brothers were still there doing their post race teardown. Glenn and Leonard came over to the fence and talked to them about it. Mr Leonard went and got us a oil filter to put on the car to see if it would fix it, it didnt and we had to ride a Greyhound home but the fact that they were willing to try to help tells you all you need to know about what kind of men they were. Although I’m an Earnhardt fan until I die I have to say that I think that David Pearson is the greatest NASCAR driver of all time. I love watching old races with him in them. I wish I was old enough to have been around when he was actually racing!! If him and the Wood Brothers had stayed together there is no telling how many more races they both would have won.
i went to the WBR Museum after Martinsville and was impressed by the items they have. I highly recommend a stop there. I got Len, Lenoard & Eddies autograph. Richard had no issues with Kyle racing for WB, but im sure on the track it was a diff story haha. If you look at the painted numbers and sponsors on the early cars you can see a difference, thats because they were done by diff people.
