NASCAR Number History: 1-5 Remastered

- In NASCAR's first 75 seasons, there have been many numbers come and go. In this series, we tell the stories of each of those numbers.
The first 3 episodes of the series, while extremely influential to the channel, were missing quite a bit of information. Now that the offseason is among us, I wanted to go back and tell the whole story for the original 15.
We go in numerical order, so today we remaster numbers 1-5. Thanks so much for all the support, I wouldn't be able to do it without yall.

For the 7: Alan Kulwicki winning the championship
For the 10: Danica Patrick wrecking on lap 2 of the 2012 Daytona 500
Great mentions, hyper specific on the Danica one 😂
For number 8 I would like a shoutout for Dale Jr's run at Martinsville. The one where his front fender was torn off
In Memory of Ken Squier: “TEXAS TERRY LABONTE”
Still can’t believe how much you undersold the importance of Park being the first driver to win after Daytona. Yes DEI needed that win for closure and healing… but everybody in NASCAR needed that moment to start healing.❤❤#3. Raise Hell Praise Dale.
Massive miss in the first episode to leave that one out, glad to do it justice this time around!
An honorable mention for the 1: Jamie McMurray's Mac Tonight Throwback Scheme
One of the best throwback schemes out there!
@@DoglegMediaMatt Absolutely
#9 Bill and Case Elliott's first win were on road courses
Bill 1983 Riverside
Chase 2018 Watkins Glen
#8 Joe Weatherly's headstone is of Riverside's old course and has the number on his headstone
Love it! Thanks for the info!
Kurt Busch's Monster Energy 1 car looks MEAN. I wish I could get it as a 1/64 diecast.
7:21 I think Chastain, after winning Phoenix (a rather overshadowed win), might get 3 wins in '24 and make it in the round of 8
I would love to see it!
two of the most iconic moments in NASCAR history were the result of the red number 1 eating the wall
For the 10: "Rule number one of stock car racing is learn how to wreck someone without wrecking yourself."
Honorable mention for the 6- Trevor Bayne, 7- dave blaney, for the 8- Daniel Hemric, for the 9- Marcus Ambrose. And for the 10- Danica Patrick
Awesome stuff Kenny!
So sad that Rick Mast never won in the #1
The #3 Will Always Be Iconic to the one ☝️ and only DALE EARNHARDT!!
I agree!
It's wild thinking just how much history can be tied to a sport. Think about it, it started with people breaking the law in prohibition, and transformed into one of the most recognized auto sport in the world.
It’s amazing isn’t it???
@@DoglegMediaMatt now it might be impractical, but it would be kind of cool to see all the major sports one of their cars and put it I a race together. Would it be practical, no. But it would be cool seeing who they stack up to one another.
Indycar VS F1 would definitely be the closest in comparison though
@@kevinwise1997it feels like IndyCar and F1 would be closest, but I'd say either F2 or Super Formula would be closer.
4:59 I think that was crazy that in harbors first race the #24 would be on the pole and the #1 would win, the same thing happened at his last race
Im not a gambling man and y’all probably gonna think im crazy but imma go on a limb and say Ross sets the #1 wins record next year lol
I would agree with that!
Numbers of history and glory
6: Ryan Newman
7: Mike Wallace and Michael Waltrip
8: Hut Stricklin
9: Stacy Compton and Lake Speed
10: Scott Riggs
Thanks a ton! I’ll be sure to get to one of these at least!
👏👏👏 heck yeah. I also loved the NASCAR 99 shoutout. I was actually just playing that last week.
Awesome! It was a great game!
@@DoglegMediaMattDon't forget to add my 25 car for Bomb Bro's Racing
@@DoglegMediaMatt yes it was. I originally started out on NASCAR 2000 as a kid and went and bought 98 and 99 shortly after. I am also kinda old 😂
73 of Dale's 76 wins are in this video.
This year I got to see his 500 win car and his hometown is 30 minutes from mine
Keep up the awesome work man. Just got into nascar about a year or so ago. And your channel has been awesome to watch to learn the history of this sport. ❤
Comments like this make all the long hours worth it! Love having you around!
jamie actually had 5 wins with the number 1 of which 4 were points paying one was not.
6-10
6: Trevor Bayne, Ryan Newman
7: Michael Waltrip, Robby Gordon
8: Hut Stricklin, Jeff Burton
9: Marcos Amrbose, Lake Speed

Number 7 mentions Alain kulwicki, Robby Gordon, and Geoff bodine
Love it, thank you Tony!
Dang it I somehow missed this upload
Honorable mention the shoe Montreal
Wrong, Siries oops
I’m going to need some context 😂
@@britishladproductions5920ohhhhh haha
My Honorable Mentions for the 7 car are Elliott Sadler, Justin Marks, & J. J. Yeley and Sam Hornish Jr drove the 9 car in 2015 and oh yeah you forgot that Richard Childress drove the 3 car before Ricky Rudd did and you forgot that Casey Mears drove the 5 car in 2008.
Love it, thanks for some great mentions as always!
This vid is 🔥
Not as 🔥 as you Duddle
#6 mentions Ryan Newman Trevor Bayne
I promise I won’t mess up Ryan Newman’s timeline this time around 😂
Yes
I’m Berry sure Josh won’t be as successful in the #4 as his predecessor.
Edit: What have I created!
I see what you did there 😂
Well it's Berry Hard(vick) to live up to someone like that
@@dr.b0973this is great 😂
I am berry interested to see how josh does in that gregson of a ride who was previously driven by Kevin.
@@justcody6068 the single greatest thread of comments in the channels history 😂 yall are amazing
Bro shouted out Elite 😭😭😭
Of course I did lol
24:45 Yle Larson is best driver!
In all seriousness, did the K get cut off from the soundbite or something?
I said it, but it’s hard to hear, you have to really listen for it and it’s still subtle. That’s an eastern Kentucky accent for ya 😂
You accidentally typed the 5 car's win total as "52" instead of "62"
RC made the right call bringin the 3 back. Yea, AD isnt winning as much in it, but who cares? The earnhardts have no say in what Richard can do with that number since they have no owner stake in rcr. Im just glad rc hasnt seitched ad for a more undeserving driver like kyle busch or reddick.
My opinion is that Dillion sucks. I have a fact to back that up Dillion has about a win every 2.5 years. Kyle Busch tied Dillion in wins in his first year at rcr.
5:12 What's this sound effect?
FIRST BABY
Dang that was as fast as Xfinity 10G 😂😎🔥
YES SIR
@@DoglegMediaMatt good one lool
