Memorable moment for Kansas: I was at the June 2011 race, the race where Keselowski shut the car off in the corners to save fuel. Hottest and worst race experience I've had. As a Kenseth fan, I enjoyed the 2012 and 2013 races, his last win with Roush and first with Gibbs, both at Kansas.
Also for Kansas 2015 spongebob 400, changed the wall colours, Brian Vickers parked in the infield on the logo and to top it all off JJ won his 3rd at Kansas to tue Jeff Gordon
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MENTIONING ME IN YOUR ABSOULUTLY INFORMATIVE VIDEO!!!! For Kansas I have a few in mind. Ricky Hendricks Truck Series victory in the first every race held there in 2001 Joey Logano holding off Kevin Harvick in 2020 in a very controversal race Kyle Larson & Denny Hamlin finish in 2023 The 45 winning 3/4 races held at Kansas in the Next Gen Era Joey Logano dumping Matt Kenseth in 2015 Bubba Wallace's win in 2022 Greg Biffle's baffeling win in 2007 Clint Bowyer's rain shortened victory Ricky Rudd and Joe Memecheck's duel in 2004 Kasey Kahne setting a track record in the 2012 fall race The first Kanas race being held at night in 2014 Kurt Bush's last Cup series victory Carl Edward's video game move in 2008 Mark Martin's last race victory in 2005 Tony Stewarts out of fuel victory in 2006 P.S. when you do Texas, can you give me a huge shout out in that video for supplying all the facts? I love this series.
I think the 2014 spring race and the SpongeBob race were good. The cars were actually going up to 200 mph in 2014 on the intermediates and the fact that one of the greatest shows sponsored a race is great
Honorable Mentions for Kansas: Joe Nemechek's last win in 2004 Mark Martin's last win with Roush Racing in 2005 The 2007 race where it got called early because of darkness, and Greg Biffle won despite running out of fuel, causing controversy. Carl Edwards original video game move in 2008 The start of the Kenseth vs Logano Rivalry in 2015 Aric Almirola's scary crash in 2017 Kyle Larson winning on the 17th anniversary of the Hendrick plane crash. Hope you mention one of these.
Honorable mention for Kansas: the number 45 car won 3 of the last 4 races at Kansas, with drivers: Kurt Busch in the Spring of 2022, Bubba Wallace in the Fall of 2022 and Tyler Reddick in the Fall of 2023.
Kansas Motor Speedway moments 2022 - Kurt Bush Last win 2021 - Kyle Busch wins "Bushy mcbush race" on Bday 2017 - Almirola Bad Crash 2015 - Logano Vs Kennseth 2015 (Spring) Sponge Bob Square Pants race 2012 - Track Repave and "Rule #1 Of Stockcar racing" 2008 - Edwards Vs Johnson
I think it’s awesome that IMS has seen its event roster diversify in recent decades. Indycar, NASCAR, F1 US Grand Prix (2000-2007), MotoGP Indianapolis Grand Prix (2008-???? Anyone know?), Red Bull Air Race, Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series (2012-2013), IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship (2014, 2023-present, becoming a 6-Hour race this year), and SRO (Stephane Ratel Organization) GT World Challenge America having an 8-hour race that’s also part of the Intercontinental GT Challenge since 2020, taking over from Laguna Seca. Did I mention that a half-marathon includes the track in the course route? My best Indy memory is the 2001 US Grand Prix, held just weeks after the devastating attacks in New York and Washington DC. Many of the teams put tribute decals on their cars, including US flag 🇺🇸 decals (Ferrari painted their cars’ noses black as their tribute), and even though the crowd size was down from last year, it was still the best-attended Grand Prix that year. That support was reciprocated with a stellar race, full of on-track overtaking, different strategies, and even a fairytale result, with Mika Hakkinen, in what would be his penultimate F1 start, score his final F1 win. Just don’t get me started on 2005’s Tiregate.😡
Honorable mentioned for Kansas: SpongeBob SquarePants 400. Loved the idea and the cars that reflected the iconic cartoon, but even though the track was well themed, why didn't NASCAR use California or Daytona instead?
Gordon isn't the only 5X winner at Indy, Michael Schumacher had 5 wins from '00-'06 (4 Poles also)... But I guess you weren't including the Indy Road Course as part of this video. But still; Love & Respect to the legendary Schumacher!
Honorable mentions for Kansas: Carl Edwards vs Jimmie Johnson 2008 2020 fall race (killed off the 550hp package [maybe it should be a dishonorable mention for how bad the finish was...?])
@@DoglegMediaMatt I took part in that race in my senior year of high school. It’s a fun course to run, apart from the sand that gets laid out over the paved sections that it crosses, which include the exit of Turn 2, the entrance to Turn 3, and pit road entrance. The sand bogs down anyone who isn’t using spikes, which makes it difficult to set a personal record if you’re not equipped with proper footwear.
Helio Castroneves and 3 other drivers have won the Indy 500 four or times. For Kansas Speedway, the Aric Almorola crash from 2017 as a honorable mention @DogLeg Media
@@DoglegMediaMatt you’re welcome. Can’t wait for Martinsville an honorable mention for that speedway would be one piece of asphalt that came off the track, and Jeff Gordon hit it

YES

Yeah it should have been a coastal track I agree!
I’m surprised that there wasn’t an honorable mention for Kasey Kahne’s last win during the 2017 race

y'all remember that curb that junked half the field in turn 6 at the 21 verizon 200? i call it the chicane of death 😂
The only reason it’s there is because the straight before it doesn’t line up properly with the Hulman Straight. Other than that, it’s kinda pointless.
Matt man you forgot Tony Stewart and Jeff Gordan taking one final lap around the track in 2016.
Man that’s a bad one to leave out! Thanks for the addition!
