I think it’s the water float. When there’s no more water in the trough it gos into harvest.

@@IceMachine411 I tracked down the manual online and it would seem to be time based after evap reaches 32F. I presume this as the adjustment on the "digital" thickness adjustment equals "+/-90 seconds to freeze cycle". I'm not sure if I trust that method.

The Manitowoc is easier for me to clean. They take about the same amount of time. Really just comes down to preference. Hoshizaki ice machines use a ton of water.

It’s an Everpure filter I believe. You may want a filter with a higher capacity.

Press and hold both buttons for 6 seconds. If it doesn’t work then try the same thing but use the buttons on the control board.

Yes. When the ice machine is in harvest and right before harvest starts the fans are shut off by the control board. They are shut off because the machine needs the pressure/heat to harvest the ice.

If the fan runs constantly while the temperature outside is really low the entire system will have lower than normal pressures. You need high side pressure for the refrigeration cycle to work properly.

Oooohhhhhhh….. lol. Sorry. Monthly is and an hour and semi annual is about 2.5 hours. Average.

That gapping tool isn’t available for purchase. I was given that tool at a Manitowoc training.

As long as you’re sure that the water tube isn’t clogged and the water isn’t flowing down the drain. If the pump is getting correct power and it turning but not actually pumping the water you may need a new pump. It’s important to ensure everything is clean and clear. Don’t want you spend money on a new pump if you don’t have to.

It is a method that is recommended by some manufacturers. I would double check with your specific manufacturer. Also the pinch off method is not an easy task and there are risks involved. Proceed with caution!⚠️

Maybe. Call Manitowoc tech support to verify. Would hate for you to change parts before knowing 100% what the issue is.

@@IceMachine411 I had disconnected the wire of that gas valve and started ice machine in the ice making mode the pressure was 35 psi on the low side then I manually energized that gas valve for a few seconds by 120V will the cord (simulating the harvest mode) the pressure rised up to 60 psi but after removing the 120v it didn't drop back to 35 psi, so I suppose it's gas valve, the txv seems to be good.

Sounds like you’re on the right track. The water needs a minimum TDS for the probes to properly sense the water. There’s a jumper on the board that is used to increase the sensitivity of the probes. If you haven’t already I’d recommend calling Manitowoc tech support. They’ll help you out with your problem.

Ice-O-Matic has had some struggles recently. Ive seen the same thing unfortunately. They keep making upgrades to the machines and I think they are headed in the right direction.

Bypassing the switch is a good way to fix the machine. The fan does need to cycle on/off in cold temperatures so that the high side pressure doesn’t fall too low.

Only about six months old. This was its first ever cleaning.

Hot gas valve. Bin switch. It could be a lot of things. Manitowoc tech support will walk you through the diagnosis process over the phone.

I don’t remember exactly how long it took. Manitowoc is usually pretty quick to answer the phone. Maybe 20 minutes or so. Those torched FCCs are no joke. I actually saw one catch fire. I kicked myself for not catching a good shot of it. And yes those freaking touchdown pads are always getting damaged!
