Scotsman ice machine troubleshooting Code 1 and Code 2

- This Scotsman ice machine has a bad fan cycle switch. The fan cycle switch is supposed to turn the condenser fan motor on and off as needed but wasn’t working properly. After troubleshooting the problem it was pretty obvious that the fan needed to be replaced. This video simply shows how to determine if the fan cycle switch is bad or the fan motor is bad.

Hi buddy nice video you got there...I need help with my ice machine First it had a problem of bin full .i found out that the gas is low,now soon as the compressor start the machine goes to defrost

Best advice would be to call Scotsman tech support. They can walk you through a step by step diagnosis process. Doing this through the comments section will be close to impossible.

wouldn’t the power to the fan be cut off power at the control board when is goes into Harvest ?
Yes. When the ice machine is in harvest and right before harvest starts the fans are shut off by the control board. They are shut off because the machine needs the pressure/heat to harvest the ice.
@@IceMachine411 why have a fan control switch then ?
If the fan runs constantly while the temperature outside is really low the entire system will have lower than normal pressures. You need high side pressure for the refrigeration cycle to work properly.
