You’re welcome. Thank you for your support. Any advice or feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Good video. That descaler can be a little burny on your skin, so latex gloves might be a good call
This is a very good point. Latex gloves will help protect against the burn of descaler.
@@IceMachine411 I'm on my fourth ice machine today thanks to - or maybe because of - your video. I would thank you but damn they are tedious to clean! I still have eight more to go! 😭
You are so right about that! Four in a day is impressive. Nice work!
im nervous about the mixture ratio and i cant figure out a definite answer how much cleaner for a 230lb ice machine? great video btw very helpful!
3 ounces is plenty. Most 500 pound machines call for 3 ounces. I use to have all the amounts memorized but I’ve kinda settled on 3 ounces as a minimum for any machine. Just make sure it’s nickel safe!
@@IceMachine411 you are awesome! thanks i appreciate the answer i was just nervous to add too much and hurt the unit! i really appreciate it and i look forward to youre future content!!!! :)) and im using nucalgon nickel safe food grade tyty
well done and helpful
Awesome. Glad you found them helpful.
Can you post the link to where you got that ice thickness probe gapping tool
That gapping tool isn’t available for purchase. I was given that tool at a Manitowoc training.
I have manitowoc qy0804a that will dump one load of ice aand go into harvest mode. Took it apart and clean it per your directions with descale. Same thing. Dumped a gallon of vinegar in it on the clean cycle and same thing. Any recommendations?
Only dropping one batch is sometimes a sign of a bad curtain switch. Manitowoc has a great tech support. 800-247-4520. Try them first.
Do you have to throw out those first few loads of ice that had sanitizer in it?
If you run the entire clean cycle there will not be any sanitizer left in the machine. There’s no need to dump the first batch of ice.
Hopefully you can take a video of the parts while removing. I would be a big help bro.
I will do that.
Quick question if this reaches you. How fast would you say it drops ice?
Every model is slightly different. The environment also causes alot of fluctuations in the freeze time. Some where in the 12-20 minutes range seem typical.
@@IceMachine411 did you say TWELVE to TWENTY MINUTES between ice cycles? wow, didn't realize it was that long, i must of forgotten. Thanks for the reply
I hope I didn’t misread your comment. It’s roughly 12-20 for the complete cycle.
@@IceMachine411 My question is "how long does it take to make a single batch of ice, drop it and start making another?"
Good video
Thanks for dropping a comment. I appreciate your support.
Been waiting on these vids man and you DELIVERED! Checking in from Southern Utah. Responsible for 5 manitowocs and I damn sure wanna make sure they’re as clean as yours if not cleaner. Thanks for the vids 🙏🏾
Awesome! Glad you found them helpful! I used to live in Ogden and I miss Utah. I want to move back. Where in southern Utah are you? Saint George? Moab?
What model ice machine is that exactly??
I’m not one hundred percent sure but I think it’s an IY0324A.
So I don't need the Manitowoc brand specifically?
It’s best to use the manufacturer’s cleaner but it’s not required. As long as it’s safe to use on your machine.
You going to come do mine!!!
Depends on where you’re located?
probe tool link to buy?
Those tools are not available for purchase yet. They are given out by Manitowoc at the technician trainings.
Where do you poor in the cleaner
Over the top. Between the water curtain and the evaporator.
If there's a gap. You can also pour it in the tray at the bottom where the water pump water intake is. It's hard to get the bottle in there tho
👍👍👍
