Which is Best? Sensate vs Apollo Neuro Review: Boost HRV and Stimulate Vagus Nerve
#apolloneuroreview #sensatereview
[2024 update] Both the Apollo Neuro and Sensate Pebble 2 claim to increase your heart rate variability (HRV), and Stimulate your Vagus Nerve. I put these claims to the test using a medical grade ECG / HRV monitor from Lief Therapeutics. I also review the usability of each wearable and help you decide if the Apollo neuro or sensate pebble is worth it.

Hi all! 12 years ago I had an accident where I slipped in the corner of my bathtub and hit the front of my neck. On the same evening following the accident I started having these intense tachycardias that wouldn’t pass. Like a constant state of panic that can’t get better no matter what. I’ve been to many hospitals, doctors and they only checked my thyroid and the heart which are all healthy. They can’t find the reason for my problem. The issue persists and I’m constantly in the emergency room with tachycardias for which they prescribed me beta blockers to manage my symptoms. But I highlight that they don’t know what’s wrong. Cardiologists said the tachycardia is not caused by the heart. I had a psychiatric assessment as well, and the doctor prescribed me with a small dose of paroxetine which alleviated the symptoms of intense fear and anxiety/panic a bit. Before that I was in a constant state of panic, which was for no reason. Before that accident, I had never experienced panic in my life… and it all happened right after this accident. The same day. Meanwhile, since last year (I was still on paroxetine at the time) I started having severe tachycardia after eating. I can’t eat anymore properly due to this. It’s not a food allergy as it happens with every possible type of food. I don’t recognise myself. Can this whole issue be related to vagus nerve damage following the neck accident? I’m trying to do my own research on this as I haven’t gotten any answers from doctors, they just don’t know why this is happening. And it’s debilitating.

Have you tried stimulating only the left side with pulsetto as you would with a TENS unit? What are also your thoughts for the huge frequency of 4500 Hz they use in comparison to 20-30 Hz in every study?

You put an affiliate referral link for which you get paid before you had completed your trial to determine its effectiveness beyond the 2 weeks. Now 1 yr plus later there's no updated review but the affiliate link is still there. I think you're unlikely to update with a negative review if you're still making money from the referrals, is that correct? You diminish your credibility and it doesn't go unnoticed. :/

This looks like right side vagus nerve stimulation (as well as left) which was always seen to be risky. As it is a commercial product then I guess it is safe? I've tried the right side with my TENS after doing the left (with small stick on electrodes) and got really good results. Any thoughts?

I have treatment resistant depression and, was looking into getting the surgery for VNS. My psychiatrist said it was 'gimmicky' and, he wouldn't approve it. He also told me that, the patients that did get it, wanted it taken out because it didn't work. (I do believe it works personally). SO, what are people's thoughts on that? has anyone had success with it treating TRD? (Either this device or with the implant). I just don't know what to do as, I've tried just about everything else. (Tons of meds / therapy / TMS). Is it really that bad of device? I've read a whole bunch of studies and videos so, I don't understand why he wouldn't even consider it, for someone like me. I have nothing else to try!!

I'm 77 and have an RMSSD of 26 and an SDRR of 28 as a snap shot of my HVR. I also get an overnight HVR and a 7 day avg HVR. I use a Garmin Forerunner 265 watch and the Overnight Avg HRV doesn't specify RMSSD or SDRR so I assume it's the SDRR since it indicates condition of both parasympathetic and sympathetic systems. My Overnight Avg was 35 but my 7 day avg was 33 which results in an HRV status of Unbalanced which the watch says may be from fatigue from overworking and recommends some recovery measures to my training regime, without specifying any type of recovery measure. I assume meditating and sleeping would be two. What others are there? Does the above make sense to you in light of the research you presented? BTW, I do HIIT jumping rope 3 x a week and weight training 3 x a week all on different days. Thanks

Hey, could you measure and/or tell us what the waveform is of the Neurosym? (ie. sqaure, sine, sawtooth, etc.) I haven't been able to find any spec info on that. I'm not sure if it even matters but just want to make sure before I buy an alternative since they are funding research of their device's effects which reduce auto-antibodies which is primarily why I am interested. All I know is that in their study in that application they used 20 Hz and 1 mA. Also, does the InTENSity Micro Combo TENS device you recommend come with the ear clips or do those need to be bought separately?
