  • Essential Oils are a very powerful tool for improving anxiety, stress, heart rate variability, and potentially vagal tone. One of the most commonly used essential oils in aromatherapy studies that have shown increases in heart rate variability is Lavender. I demo how much if an increase I get in heart rate variability during a lavender diffuser treatment, as measured with the Lief continuous heart rate variability monitor.
If you are going to be inhaling essential oils for aromatherapy you can pick out some well sourced ones on Amazon such as eden's garden.. If you are going to ingest essential oils internally I would recommend using only a very reputable and clean source: www.doterra.com/US/en/site/es...
My favorite way to continuously measure Heart Rate Variability is via the Lief HRV tracking wearable: getlief.com/ use code HRVHACKERS to get 10% off your order. My favorite (passive) vagus nerve stimulator is the Apollo Neuro. Review and promo code in description here: • Video
If you have sleep and stress issues, a very effective wearable to consider is the Touchpoints Wearable. and promo code in description here: • Reduce Your Stress by ...

What other essential oils should we check to see if they raise HRV?

Interesting experiment. I have a paradoxical reaction to some oils, like lavender is very stimulating for me not calming. As somebody with post-viral illness like yourself, I notice that just inhaling oils can have a big impact on how I feel. Clary Sage or Roman Chamomile for example, are incredibly calming for me.
Oh and the more I see Lief in action the more I want one ☺️

Yes I think that it really helps to have some tech like the Lief to make sure that how feel matches with how it's affecting our physiology objectively. I also monitor my blood pressure when using a new type of oil to make sure it doesn't go too low. Have you tried diffusing, say Chamomile, during sleep to see if it improves it?

@@HRVHackers good idea I’ll try that thanks. My body is mostly in overreacting autoimmune overdrive so I have to watch what I do.
