    Going to bed before 11 and reducing TV at night makes my oura ring happy

    There are some silly comments in this thread for some reason but I just want to say, thank you for sharing supplements that have helped you! I didn’t think any of these ones in relation to sleep.✨

    Interesting info but I wish we could have followed you more like an anecdotal experience. Would’ve been very motivating to see your sleep improve over time and see effects of each supplement on your case specifically

    Although I don't track it, I find getting enough potassium particularly helpful for feeling rested. I supplement 3g potassium chloride a day. However, it's extremely important to try much much lower doses to begin with, as too much potassium has been known to cause heart attacks. If however you've tried the usual recommendations for magnesium supplements, potassium is another extremely important electrolyte for sleep. It is not often talked about for some reason. Personally it saved my insomnia along with getting enough salt.

      Yep! I have POTS and even though I was drinking electrolytes, I found that doubling up really made a huge difference in my overall well being. I’m working on making my own recipe but Pedialyte advanced care + is awesome and makes notable improvements on my symptoms, mood, and mental clarity. 2-3 packs a day. Yes it’s spendy af, but it’s been the most potent solution I’ve found for my POTS.

      @@DanielleCrowell-hd3py Since writing this comment I've also discovered that adding a lot more carbohydrates into my diet helps too. Keto or low carb diets tend to mess up electrolyte levels, carbs make a big difference in balancing electrolytes. I can highly recommend adding more carbs.

      Take it in the morning though. It signals the cells that it's morning. Absolutely a great supplement to carefully take! Changed my life.

      That's great to hear. Lmk how the supplements work out. Make sure to give them at least a month as some take time to build up in your system

    Excellent info! Do you think Calcium Channel Blockers used for hypertension could contribute to insomnia as calcium is needed for melatonin production? Thx!!

    • @HRVHackers
      @HRVHackers  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's quite possible!

    • @emilyb5557
      @emilyb5557 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fyi they block specific channels in cardiac system rather than general movement and absorption of calcium. So I don't think it would but now I'm curious 🤔 will try n look up whether they impact any channels in the brain 🧠

    Anything you recommend to help with waking up after falling asleep? No matter how luch i limit my water intake or sodium or carbs, even when i go to bed with an empty bladder i STILL ALWAYS get up an hour afer falling asleep and then once i fall back asleep i eventually get up 2 more times throughout the night. Mainly during the early part, completely disrupting my deep sleep :(

    What is the protocol you followed? A list of disjointed supplements is a bit useless.

      I would just try one at a time starting with Glycine for 1 - 2 weeks.

    How to stay asleep when you have noisy neighbours? People around me are not bothered, but Im very sensitive to sounds and it wakes me up. I moved so many times trying to find quiet environment, but something wakes me up everywhere. I even moved out of my own flat, rented it out and rented another place for me. Always looking for something quiet, but there are neighbours everywhere 😖 What do I do to desentisize my brain to sounds?

      The most helpful thing for me that I've tried is some sort of earbuds that go in the ear and use active noise masking technology. Here's one from a quick Google search soundoffsleep.com/

    get a cpap lol it helped me I was feeling asleep while drive on the freeway .... the cpap fix this over night well as long as i use the cpap

    • @HRVHackers
      @HRVHackers  ปีที่แล้ว

      Cpap May make you feel good in the mornings but it's a Band-Aid approach. Unless you can figure out what's causing you to have the sleep apnea such as being overweight or having a bad diet you're not doing yourself too many favors long term. I personally prefer to fix root causes
