Skallywag Tactical MDv Plus One: In Depth Review || Best Sheath Ever?
After holding on to this knife for a looong time... we're finally unboxing the Skallywag Tactical MDv Plus One. I can't lie, I was extremely impressed by this knife! Knife Attacks | RUN or FIGHT? with Aaron Jannetti
มุมมอง 334ปีที่แล้ว
"Just run away!" is the internet's latest end-all-be-all statement for dealing with a knife. Well... they're not totally wrong, but they don't really know why they're right either. In this video, Knife Control Concept's Aaron Jannetti and I discuss some principles for know when to engage with a knife or when to just get out! Knife Defense Series || Part 3: 2on1 Control

About Knife Defense... Over the years as I grew in martial arts, I developed a particular interest in knife/edged weapons defense. I felt that a lot of systems either didn't cover it well, oversimplified, or tried to make it too fancy. They just didn't quite coincide with the real, violent knife encounters that I had studied. • So I began to learn, try, and fail at technique/principles that I t...

Why did you decide to go with a more traditional pull up bar vs a multi grip model? For someone new such as myself, would you recommend doing the same or going with a multi grip bar? Thanks!

    Hi bro, great video. Have a question tho… Is it stable enough to do weighted muscles ups and heavy weighted pull ups ? It is stated on the website that the maximum weight is 500lbs (around 225kg). Just for an extreme example, do you think that it would be sturdy and solid enough to do muscle ups with 20-30kg and pulls ups with 80-100kg added weight ? Wish you a nice day and hope getting a response 😄

    • @BeReadySelfDefense
      @BeReadySelfDefense 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have seen many females successfully grapple with larger males. While size/weight can certainly be a factor, it is certainly not the only determining one. I've found that time on the mats drilling, flowing, and developing sensitivity to different positions is a much greater indication to a women's ability to fight someone larger than her. However, instantly telling them they cannot protect themselves solely off of size difference is a surefire way to stunt your female students' growth. I prefer to develop badass ladies. 🤷‍♂️

    That's pretty good. Are you using straight forward pressure, or counter pressure? I mean pushing forward with your head while pulling with your hand. I find keeping their knife as far away from their body and as close to yours at all times is very effective, it also stops them from moving backwards to regain position. Especially if there's nothing around for them to lean against.

    • @BeReadySelfDefense
      @BeReadySelfDefense 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Once I'm in, my pressure depends on the pressure they're giving me (pushes and pulls, etc.) or I can use my pressure to create the movement I want from them. Principle 3 video I talk a little more about it. I would also check out Aaron Jannetti's stuff. He dives a lot into the importance of pushes and pulls.
