Hey mate!! Haha yeah interesting combo...not one i'd try haha! Tell you what, this is a prime example of where a place has no right to do amazing western food but does! It is very hit and miss though in our experience, and some of the best stuff is in the most unexpected places...like this amazing chocolate mousse at a local eatery in Hoi An - it just did not compute but it worked!!

I did well-paid work after uni (Arabic and German) then retired at 42 in the south of France and did a part-time job until retiring properly at 62 this January. The Mrs. (met at our council estate comprehensive school school in UK, married 1984) is still working as hands-on nurse ❤️👍. Planning in early phases. Warts are extremely precious info +1 👍😀. Hey mate! Did Mumma Sao ever do a Ka Tiev? It's hard growing up on cornflakes and toast then switching to a bloody hot soup as a breakfast - I suppose they look at us Aussies and wonder why we don't put tomato sauce on our pizza or dip our bread in sweet milk! Cannot lose with those waffles though!! Cheers!!

She does. She makes it occasionally for lunch and probably dinner if any is left over. I know the elderly that like to eat Ka Tiev for breakfast.

Mate cannot go wrong with the waffles! I mean they are still an authentic Khmer food - so nothing wrong there! That wok did look a bit 'how you going' didn't it? Then again some of the best meals have probably come from kitchens that were a bit 'on the nose' by out standards. Cheers Dave!

(though I do love maccas for the clean toilets) I ate Tarantulas last time in SR.. had scorpions in Beijing, seahorse, donkey.. snake.. I realise its different for you as you are there much more and the fun of new food is probably less fun than for me.

G'day Steve - From all reports (well anecdotally anyways) PP is much better than it use to be. I suppose Cambodia is a place where things will catch up eventually - and cracking down on some of this scallywag behaviour will be one of them. Unil then yeah just hope tourists apply the same common sense in PP as they would at home. I.e. don't wander down dark alleys drunk at 3am, stay away from seedy parts of town in the small hours, keep your wits about you if walking around at night etc. Hope you haven't been on the receiving end of anything untoward before mate? Hey J J! Mate this place was pretty good and they have some really nice restaurants down stairs too. Work paid for the room so cant comment on price but id imagine it wouldn't be cheap. Having said that - it's way better than the other joint they usually put us up in. All good here mate, flat stick as usual trying to get some of these vids out! Hope you and yours are well too!! Cheers LJ - we always knew there was dodgy stuff happening here and there on the river front but not to that extent. Just stay sharp and keep your eyes peeled and you should be sweet!

Hey LJ - yeah there is something cool about the old buildings there hey. Much more character and it feels like you are stepping back in time a little. The new places which some are amazing..don't give that feeling of really travelling...if that makes sense. Those security bars were great hehe!! Aint no one climbing in there haha! Agree 100% mate! For us this is exactly how we used the room too. Dropped our bags and went out and about. Only came back to the room to sleep! Perfect when in a central location like this as well! Cheers!!

Yes it does mate! The place we rented in 2023 our first month’s power bill was over $250 USD! It was top floor with no shade coverage so was at the mercy of the sun. When looking for a place next time some shade protection will come into consideration for sure!

G'day Sean! Yes mate they are in the video itself - first was $650, second was $550 and the last one was $800! As we were only looking for short term rental these prices are inflated compared to what you would get if staying for 12 months or longer. Cheers mate and hope you enjoy our videos!

Geez I guess you don’t have family overseas ey Russ, or kids? My wife is from Cambodia and we have family all over the country. We do and will continue to travel with our little one to visit our family and we do our best to keep him under control. Regular traveler’s are generally sympathetic to the challenges families face with kids (traveling or otherwise). Old codgers who think the world is for retirees only generally aren’t. All the best for surviving in public spaces 👍

It’s called public planes and places for a reason, maybe regular travelers who has issues with babies or others in public should consider paying for a private plane, bus when travel or just stay home mate so you don’t expose yourself to public and screaming babies 😂
