Sonic's section: The parallel to Lost World is intentional. That entire section is built to harness the power of the Chaos Emeralds by mimicking the constructions of the ancient echidnas (or possibly the chao? it's not entirely clear who built the shrine.) Hot Shelter is the weirdest stage in the game. Sonic doesn't play it, there's that enormous area only Big can access that I don't think is *ever* used, even in DX's mission mode... I seriously wonder if it wasn't cut down for time or something.

Wait, why do you have three rings in the total counter at the end of Speed Highway? Shouldn't it only be two, the ones Sonic grabs before you get control?

You didn't want to mention that in the International release that it's impossible to complete the entire 722 card library? That 33 cards are missing. So only 689 cards can be obtained in the original vanilla release.

Actually, I do consider Sonic Heroes to be their first appearance, sort of. Not of the character designs, but of the actual characters. I half remember talk about the team making new characters from old designs, but I'm tired and have work in the morning so I'm not going to track that down. What I will say is in Knuckles' Chaotix, Espio wasn't a ninja, Vector didn't lead a detective agency, and, brace yourself for this, Charmy was described as mature for his age. Sophisticated, even. Modern Charmy took a colossal shift.

idk what to tell you cause it's not intuitive at all, but if you ram the other racers in the bumper kart section with enough speed without holding accelerate, you explode them. I don't know why they made it the way that they did cause it's definitely not intuitive at first glance but it's simple enough once you get used to it.

Ok no offense but grand metropolis as the caotix was really easy and I only got a d rank on act 1 because I fell of the stage, otherwise I got all the robots on my 1st try.

In regards to Hang Castle (and Mystic Mansion I guess) not having any inspiration from previous levels all I can say is: Pumpkin Hill! (Do Do, DODO DODO DODO DODO, DO DO!!!!!!!)

On Arid canyon act 2 is possible to finish the act ringless but requires a TAS only route. and skipping a large section of the last minecart section

this is just ultimate mode if the rings werent replaced and was slightly harder nice challenge

I tried this run onto my Dreamcast, and what i can say about it: 1) Casinopolis Skip is better with higher route (There is alternative skip onto the roof of the casino (Knuckleses part of the stage). 2) Ice Cap skip isn't possible, so you need to remember paths of ring onto the snowboarding section. 3)When Dying in Chaos 0 bossfight, you respawn before the rings, thus making it possible to beat him. 4) You can't use 2nd act skip in Final Egg, only Out of bounds capsule skip.

When you were talking about Knuckles' connection with the Master Emerald, I was thinking of that Sonic Short where I think Knuckles is playing cards with the Master Emerald, and he somehow loses against it. Makes no sense
