- Is it Possible To Beat Sonic 06 Without Any Glitches? Well... I guess it's finally time to answer that question, as we take on the infamous dumpster fire for the first time!
Next time we'll take on the other Campaigns to see how well we fare in those stories, I am not holding my breath though! I can't wait for Sonic Adventure 1, or Sonic Adventure 2 maybe I can! Can you beat Sonic Adventure 2 LAST STORY without collecting any rings? I guess I could always do so in Sonic Adventure DX; or Sonic Adventure 2 battle, Shadow The Hedgehog is my favorite character, especially his battle against the Biolizard, like Super Shadow vs Super Sonic, or Super Shadow vs Eggman! Same with Tails and Knuckles, and even Sonic The Hedgehog!!! Sonic... Did you guys read those Sonic Frontiers Leaks? Insane right?! What about Sonic Origins or Sonic Prime? Maybe even the Sonic Movie and Sonic Movie 2, I might do a Sonic Movie 2 Review when it comes out, my favorite port has to be Sonic Adventure 2 battle and I hope we get a Sonic Adventure 3 someday. For sure I'll be doing a Sonic Adventure 2 review, maybe even cover some Sonic Leaks and Sonic discussion... My personal favourite version of the Silver Boss Glitch is when SomeCallMeJohnny made Sonic and Silver both escape the boss arena and fight in the Hub World.
That's the best glitch in the game for sure lmao
I 100% completed the game and I don't really remember any glitches occuring, there probably were some but they weren't extreme enough for me to remember. I did a few intentional glitches but I don't really count those since you almost have to go out of your way to make them happen
I never got any gitches in this game in general in fact if you play the game the way it's suppose to be played you can beat the game without any issue! Though his take on "It's not possible' BULLCRAP!!! Because he may have gotten one but the goal was to see if it WAS possible to beat it without a gitch NOT find one and quit so he cannot say it's not possible unless he actually tried and I know it's possible because I have done it multiple times!!!
@@VTRcomics That's not my issue my issue is the fact y'all say it can't be beaten without running into a gitch it's been done before and I am one of those who beat the whole game gitchless.

I love how the challenge for Sonic 06 is just "Dont experience glitches" lmao
I remember playing this when I was younger, and man I did love it and did really good for a lot of it. Surprisingly Crisis City was smooth for me but it was Aquatic Base that was my game killer of glitches. Legitimately kept running into the same glitch in a loop I believe that would glitch me off the thing over and over again into the bottomless pits below

I kept hitting like some kind of turn corner or something and clipping through it. Can't remember even if it WAS Aquatic Base tbh it was just that long ago that it frustrated me to the point that I just never wanted to play more cause it was CONSISTENT. Like I used up all my lives and then also went to another retry with more lives.
Im excited for that fan remake of it.
XD i saw the notification for this at my friend's house and one of our friends went "nope. Not possible. Though if he glitches at the same place as the Game Grumps, he's required by law to give Arin's speech". XD
Also, Silver gave me PTSD, alongside the kids. I could never find them.

I was expecting you to end the run on the volcano level, Flame Core. Not for the Knuckles part of the level but there's a glitch that one of the closed doors you need to defeat all the enemies in the area to open up. That or Kingdom Valley. That's the glitchest level, without a doubt! Good attempt.

Sonic has always had throwbacks, as far back as the second game. Emerald Hill is a throwback to Green Hill, and hell Metropolis is such a throwback to Scrap Brain that it even brings back the 3-act structure. I think the difference is context. Metropolis being almost identical to Scrap Brain is an intentional misdirect-- it makes you think you're at the final level, but then there's *more*. The end of Sonic 2 is very cinematic, and honestly works as a kind of prototype for the story telling in Sonic 3K, and it all starts with that minor plot twist.
Not all of it has to be so deep though. Seaside Hill and Ocean Palace in Heroes are clear throwbacks to Green Hill, even having that classic checkerboard-pattern dirt, but because of the heavier emphasis on ancient ruins, the water theme, and even tossing in some elements from Emerald Coast, it feels familiar yet fresh, which is plenty good enough. Generations is the same, the whole point of that game is to be a throwback, but it never feels like direct ports because there are great efforts to mix things up and be fresh and original.
Compare that to something like Green Hill's appearance in Forces. Yeah, it's desertified, but...what does that really add? It adds nothing to the gameplay, and the desert portions are so distinct and separate from the green hill portions that there's, just, no cohesion. Its only purpose is to be nostalgia bait. Chemical plant is even more egregious, just being literally Generations' Chemical Plant but with a layer of dust and a couple trains here and there in the background.
TL;DR, Wave Ocean is 100% a throwback to Emerald Coast, and it can get pretty egregious, but the nostalgia throwback is by no means inherently bad, or even has its quality based on the era.
(i know im hyperfocusing on this tiny thing but it always gets my goat when ppl act like throwbacks are whats wrong with sonic and inherently bad as opposed to being just neutral tools that can be either used well or poorly-- not accusing you of this, im just talking in general)
I get what you're saying to an extent, call backs are perfectly fine. However when you compare it to the previous era where it's literally Green Hill and Chemical Plant over and over the course of 3 games straight, that's when I have an issue with it.
My point with this, was that the 2000s era also had some inklings of this design choice just nowhere near to the extent of this current era. Where we have Sky Sanctuary returning in Frontiers for example.
I dont know if you're gonna reply since this comment is 1 year old but i think emerald coast is a throwback to the stage that never made it past concepts "tropical sun/plant" zone in sonic 2
Idk if this is a great idea but I was thinking “Can you best every Green Hill zone (or green hill type zone) without collecting any rings?” Is an interesting idea

I literally could never beat this game because on Kingdom Valley, I always glitched through the waterfall and it killed me
For me it was the fact that if I died, I had to play through the 3 trials all over again XD

Bro, I'm hard pressed to agree that the thing you ran into to stop the run fits with your definition of a glitch considering that the place you died at is a pretty consistent spot to die at for just about every run of this game. I was just watching someone else play this game, the name of the video is "I suffered through ALL of Sonic 06" and in that video on Crisis City, the person playing died to the VERY SAME enemy you did in this video in the VERY SAME fashion. So, I think that's a consistent thing for this game...
I thought that as well since it's happened to me before in the past, but on the other attempts whilst I took damage it didn't kill me. It's a very easy glitch to trigger, but it unfortunately counts.

EVENTUALLY I'm gonna finish my video essay on the game. When I played it (a genuine game with a genuine xbox360 console) I took A LOT of notes on the game about everything in it. I think it'd be interesting to see your opinions on the large.... large........... LARGE document, since I really was incredibly detailed with it, and I do love the game a lot lol. So it's a different perspective than most.

Sonic 06 is very glitchy, but if you play it normally and casually you aren't very likely to encounter a glitch.

Are you playing this game on a Playstation or XBox? the Xbox version has significantly less glitches and graphical errors, since they had more time to develop it.
360 version for this one mate. xD
Since 06 has a whole bunch of playable characters, would you be interested in making a classic "Beat Sonic 06 with only [x]"? It may seem over done but I haven't seen any videos for this for 06. (And I'm a bit of a sucker for those kind of videos.)
I've thought about doing it for p-06 in the past, not sure how I would set that up on Xenia with the base game.
I'm sure its something ill tackle when the timing is right, im currently upgrading my pc rn. Plus I've been in a bit of life trouble over the past 7 months which is why the channel has been pretty nonexistent interns of uploads.

It’s not a glitch, there’s just no i frames when being hit on a board
Watch it again, I died whilst still having rings which is a glitch. Normally sonic would take the hit and lose his rings, not die on impact
@@challengerjakku1943You didn’t die while having rings, as I mentioned, you have no invincibility frames when getting hit on the board, and since the iblis worm has an active hitbox on its body, you first touched its body, lost rings, and hit its hitbox again causing you to die. Is it poor coding to have no invincibility frames when getting hit on the board? Yes. But that does not make it a glitch.

He didn’t even die by a glitch. When on a board sonic has no programmed invincibility frames when getting hit, so it’s possible to be killed twice by an active hit box, it’s not a glitch, just poor coding.

Honestly, it'd be so refreshing to see Eggman being a credible threat again like he is in this game, instead of the ridiculous goofball he's become since Colors. Sure, Eggman was sometimes silly in most games, from Adventure up to Unleashed, but he still felt like a threatening supervillain who _could_ take over the world if Sonic and friends weren't always foiling his plans. Nowadays, Eggman is just a joke, with Sonic always clowning on him, and the air of a credible threat has almost entirely dissipated. Sure, Modern Eggman has moments of menace (like threatening to strangle Zavok or taking over the world in Forces), but these moments tell us that he's a threat, instead of showing us how big a threat he is.

I don't want to come across as mean, however, this video was very hard to watch due to the way you speak. It's very relentless without pause and the way you constantly end your sentences with the same intonation makes it very jarring to the ears.
I hope you don't take this as an attack on you as a person as it's not meant as such, I merely hope that you take it as constructive criticism. Have some pause between some sentences to give someone "time to breathe" as it were. As for the intonation, I personally can't really give any qualified tips on that, though I would suggest just looking at other video essays you enjoy to see how they talk.
For instance, GVMERS has a really good intonation (disregard their lower tone of voice itself, that's not what I mean specifically).
I'll keep this in mind but I can't really promise anything, most of my voice overs are the result of constant takes being weaved together to create the final product. Having a speech impediment makes this a necessity, so I will experiment with adding more pauses inbetween going forward depending on how natural it sounds.

I've always wanted to play Sonic 06. I'm the kind of person who really like abusing glitches, bugs, etc. It's just that I don't have a functioning Xbox 360 nor functioning Xbox 360 controller (I got that infamous red ring of death and several broken 360 controllers) and it's like... 2 frames per second using an emulator which is odd considering how my computer can run Batman Arkham Asylum at max graphics perfectly fine. The same goes with Sonic Generations. Then again, those are the Steam versions which are optimized for PC in the first place. Who knowa, I think I might give P06 a go instead. That won't prevent me from actually wanting to experience the original version of what many consider to be "The worst Sonic game of all time.", a claim I highly doubt to be the case.
P-06 is honestly the best way to play this game, you won't regret it XD

It's so difficult to find a copy in irl stores, the copy I needed was gone twice in two different stores even after I found it, I'm just that unlucky.
