- Hey everyone! In Part 2 of today's Challenge series, we try to find out whether you can beat Sonic Robo Blast 2 Without Collecting Any Rings!
In the finale we take on the final halve of the game, starting from Red Volcano Zone all the way to the core of Eggman's diabolical plans, Black Core Zone. Traversing many different locations and facing familiar foes along the way, will we succeed in completing the objective of beating Sonic Robo Blast 2 Ringless?
With this challenge series now complete, next is the series you've all been waiting for! So Join us in a couple of weeks for part 1 of the next No Ring Challenge Series, to see whether it's possible to beat the Hero Story of Sonic Adventure 2 WITHOUT collecting any rings!

I can't wait for Sonic Adventure 1, or Sonic Adventure 2 maybe I can! Can you beat Sonic Robo Blast 2 without collecting a ring? I guess I could always do so in Sonic Adventure DX; or Sonic Adventure 2 battle, Shadow The Hedgehog is my favorite character, especially his battle against Fang the Sniper, like Super Shadow vs Super Sonic, or Super Shadow vs Eggman! Same with Tails and Knuckles, and even Sonic The Hedgehog!!! Sonic... Did you guys read those Sonic Frontiers Leaks? Insane right?! What about Sonic Origins or Sonic Prime? Maybe even the Sonic Movie and Sonic Movie 2, I might do a Sonic Movie 2 Review when it comes out, my favorite port has to be Sonic Adventure 2 battle and I hope we get a Sonic Adventure 3 someday. For sure I'll be doing a Sonic Adventure 2 review, maybe even cover some Sonic Leaks and Sonic discussion... Hi everyone! Now that this series has wrapped up, the sonic adventure 2 no ring challenge should be releasing next.
I might need a little bit of time as the hero story is far larger of an undertaking than anything we have done so far, but it's coming!

3:09 This is actually a pathway that any character can use, the rings are there to indicate the wind shield is needed. (also Pterabyte is pronounced as Terrabyte just as Pterodactyl is pronounced Terrodactle)
You learn something new everyday! xD Good to know though, we eventually found the wind shield after this video was published a few days ago but at the time I had no clue about it at all haha.
20:00 Fun fact in the Japanese version of the sonic OVA metal robotnik is actually called brack robotnik confirming this is a reference!
That's actually awesome! Couldn't think of the english name, so I just called him by what the SRB2 wiki put. XD
The RVZ Solid Lava Falls are actually solid collision, meaning you need an actual mod that has collision phasing to go through that.
Ahh, it's a bit strange for it to be the one of the only hazards to have this.
i guess hms123 or sonic overdrive is the only ones that can phase through collision lol

IIRC the Pterabytes are specifically programmed to drop you into lava when possible.

Hello! I just found your channel and these videos, since I have actually been doing a very similar challenge at the same time where I try to found the minimum amount of rings required for each vanilla character and was wondering if anyone else had done this and maybe found some possible skips that I hadn’t. These videos are super well made, great job!

if you need more challenge ideas for srb2, perhaps you could try completing srb2 without touching the ground after first leaving it (objects do not count as the ground; bosses are exempt due to ground touches basically being forced after every hit unless you're fang), obviously it wouldn't be possible due to things like the ERZ zoom tubes but i'd like to see how close it's possible to get
I can give this a shot for sure, although it would probably hit a brick wall in thz act 2.

For SA1 I played on pc using the DC conversion mod, I would say overall SA1 was harder despite completing most if the stories!
how did you get the characters and badniks to be 3d models? i enjoy the mechanics and level design but i just cannot get a feel for spacing and depth when everything but the level geometry is sprite-based
I downloaded the Jeck Jim Models from the SRB2 Message board, however I think they actually come included now with the newer versions of SRB2.
You have to change the rendering to Open GL, and then enable 3D Models if I remember correctly. :)

As for challenges, it would be difficult for me to recommend some. As i play many JRPGs, so....

What JRPGs do you play? I've been recommended Fire Emblem which I plan on getting to rather soon.
@@challengerjakku1943 i play Final Fantasy, Disgaea (kinda), Dragon Quest, Fire Emblem, Mercenaries Saga, etc...
As a fan of Fire Emblem, and as a fan of your content, i do recommend Fire Emblem, but i also must say it depends on which game you're playing. Some games are easier than others and some require different strategies and planning to tackle.
It'll definitely be one of the easier ones for sure! Despite loving challenges I know playing one of the harder ones with barely any JRPG experience would be a disaster. Beautiful, but a disaster. 😂
Final fantasy is great as well, I have to be honest I've never played Dragon Quest despite hearing so many great things about the series.
@@challengerjakku1943 if you've got a Nintendo Switch, i can recommend the demos for Dragon Quest 11 and Triangle Strategy. Not too too long, but gives you a bit of a grasp on turn-based JRPGs and Strategy JRPGs.
Though, if you ever need help, I'm usually always available.

so how does the other route in egg rock 2 go? can you avoid all the rings in that route or no?
To my knowledge, no unfortunately.
Both routes in Egg Rock Act 2 require rings, but the right path has less.
Is there any way to make a save file with addons?
There's a custom save file mod on the MB
Now do SRB2 Ultimate without getting any rings
don't actually do it, ultimate removes all rings to make the game more challenging, so it becomes possible
also, from my experience, sonic can go till ACZ2 (Arid Canyon act 2) ringless (without multiplayer or sonic & tails, wich i havent tested), havent played the rest of the game though.
I might try ultimate mode one day , but with the character randomize mod so we change character every second. >:D

Everything's fine until you remeber that 2 whole ones have been missing for almost 2 decades and half of the game uses the old level layout...
The layout is still really good though for how old it is.

I addressed that in part 1, everything Shadow is capable of doing in the run is at least possible with the Vanilla characters as well.
Tails would have been the easy choice for the run, but I wanted to play as Shadow instead as he's my favourite character.
