- Hey! In Today's challenge Video we take on Sonic Generations to see if we can beat the Classic Stages as Super Mario! Using the Super Mario 64 Generations Mod developed by Skyth!
This took a little longer than I anticipated because of my illness last week, I apologize for that. Going forward I want to pick the momentum up where we left off so next week will be part 2 of this Challenge before we take on Sonic Heroes to see whether it's possible to beat the game without collecting rings!
After Sonic Heroes we will be returning to the challenge runs you have requested as originally intended, so those videos will still be coming as we continue the hype up to Sonic Origins!
We are now on the road to 2K subscribers by the end of the year, so I just want to thank everyone who has supported the channel so far bringing us to our 1st major milestone! I can't wait for Sonic Adventure 1, or Sonic Adventure 2 maybe I can! Can you beat Sonic Adventure 2 LAST STORY without collecting any rings? I guess I could always do so in Sonic Adventure DX; or Sonic Adventure 2 battle, Shadow The Hedgehog is my favorite character, especially his battle against the Biolizard, like Super Shadow vs Super Sonic, or Super Shadow vs Eggman! Same with Tails and Knuckles, and even Sonic The Hedgehog!!! Sonic... Did you guys read those Sonic Frontiers Leaks? Insane right?! What about Sonic Origins or Sonic Prime? Maybe even the Sonic Movie and Sonic Movie 2, I might do a Sonic Movie 2 Review when it comes out, my favorite port has to be Sonic Adventure 2 battle and I hope we get a Sonic Adventure 3 someday. For sure I'll be doing a Sonic Adventure 2 review, maybe even cover some Sonic Leaks and Sonic discussion... @@challengerjakku1943 yea he was; he used their pixel measurements to ‘find their accelerations and speeds’ and then would use the “data” to compare which due to mario’s sprite being equal to the size of a single tile, and sonic being ‘taller’ and the ground textures being greater in size he came to the conclusion that ‘mario was faster than sonic’ and has continued to use that practice whenever doing a theory on 2d games; he also did that with ridley v sonic in their ‘speeds’ when comparing sonic’s run speed to that one grab of ridley shoving an enemy on their face on the ground, sliding, then throwing off the ground
In regards to that last one he didnt account for the spindash which makes sonic slightly but all the more faster than ridley even with his ‘fastest speed’ of throwing a character etc
And another example is in his modern sonic speed comparison where sonic ‘wasnt as fast as the speed of sound’ where he compared gameplay of the ‘fastest time we play as sonic’ sonic unleashed; where he fails to account for the literal first cutscene where sonic is outrunning and dodging bullets like no one’s business, in addition to taking down a horde of bots, before and this is the most damning piece of evidence; eggman launches SEVERAL ballistic missiles at sonic; which mind you, the AVERAGE ballistic missile travels almost 5 TIMES THE SPEED OF SOUND, more specifically travels at 7km/second; almost every time he has ever said ‘sonic is slower than ___’ he has been VERY wrong
This mod looks so fun, imagine being an expert mario 64 speedrunner and playing this

Same honestly! It really reflects the Intricacies in the design when you place a character that wasn't built around the stages into them. Would be really curious to see how well adventure sonic would play.

@@challengerjakku1943 you've kind of motivated me to start I think, as we both are from the same area of England.
so it looks like your flying and going out of bounds caused you to miss some triggers to load the visuals for the stages that didnt have textures for a bit. sonic generations stores all visuals for the stage separately from the collision so thats why you could still walk around though like you said, you have to be really, really, and i mean REALLY familiar with the stage in order to figure out where your going. but as you got through the stage you started hitting the correct triggers so the world is visible again. ok that was my nerd out for the week. great video its very cool.
Oh that makes a lot of sense! I'm guessing that this also occurs with sonic himself sometimes, because he's moving too fast through the triggers?
@@challengerjakku1943 if you somehow skip em by going over or around them then yes. Maybe if you line up classic sonics crazy spindash in such a way you might be able to skip some loading triggers for being too fast but i have never tried.
@@el-fire I think it's happened before for me using modern sonic but I can't remember entirely.
First found out about that in BSC's commentary on Generations
This is what happens when SM64 speedrunners clip into one too many parallel universes, they end up in Sonic games.
Now of course someone needs to do the opposite, but Sonic into SM64.
With the adventure physics of course XD

There is a Sonic mod for the Mario 64 PC port and he plays just like how he does in adventure
@@hydronedusk4229 the physics arent 1:1 unlike this mod of course,but it works i guess,but if we were to port sonic like mario into so many things so easily(blender,minecraft,sonic generations) we'd probably need an entire decompilation of sonic adventure then something like libsm64 but for sonic adventure instead.

To beat the game using super mario without already cheated in wing cap then it would cut off plenty of levels. The wing cap should have been given its original property like from the red powerup boxes. The mod maker could have asset swapped some things like life boxes with powerup blocks & allowing mario to jump on enemies.

You know Klonoa, the difficulty is reversed, and I am curious if Mario 64 is capable of more glitches that could aid in shorten the stage lengths.
You can beat a ton of the stages here in a few minutes if you abuse the wing cap pretty much.
To be fair sonic would be torture to control in a Mario game as well
It depends what Sonic tbh, the boost games sure. Adventure Sonic would Steam roll thru all of 3D Mario's Adventures.

I think this is very cool but maybe you can slow down talking because, and this isn't an insult just my first impression, you sound like you're speaking another language at times. Given, you may not be a native English speaker so it's understandable but it'd be easier to follow along to your words if you slowed them down slightly. I did enjoy the video regardless I found it very enjoyable.
I'm from England, up north we have a tendency to speak rather quickly. I will keep that in mind for the next part mate.
