I am a 17-year Walmart Private Fleet Driver, I've been driving trucks 20 plus years. I've never had a ticket or an accident throughout my entire career behind the wheel. I have a lot of value to offer those new to truck driving, considering getting into this industry, or have been driving for awhile.

Your as full of shit as all the TH-cam truck drivers
Lazy union truck driver should be the title. If this is who you promote as drivers, you should be embarrassed.
@@brianhoppenrath8379 he is a union driver and where he works people are interested in that and want to hear about it. Considering myself and where I work is completely the opposite we are not union.
I have had my hazmat/tanker. for the last 2.5 yrs. One thing i learned is hazmat waste doesnt pay very well at all. Stay away from companies that haul waste in tanker...I worked for the largest waste company in the Country and only got paid 25.00 an hr. Once I started looking around for another job, I was offered 98k... So Just be aware of that...Go into Product, not waste if you want tanker work.
@@craigslistrro709 I've heard that before and depending on the waste it could be dangerous to your health for less money.
So I can't work 11 weeks on, one week off or something like that?
@@Unduplicatable no. I have a schedule that's 5 days on 5 days off. Some of the other schedules would be like 6 days on 2 days off or 6 days on 3 days off or 5 days on 2 days off just as a few examples.
Hey buddy been watched your videos for a while thank you for all the information, so I'm a 750k all safe mile driver 8 yrs OTR experience, perfect driving record also i was a trainer, looking to get on board at the walmart DC in Sealy Tx and chance you can forward my resume to a hiring manager?
All I can do as far as that goes is be a referral for you. If you use me as a referral your application will be before all the other ones that don't have a referral. That should get you a call back faster. Having all the experience with a good record will be very helpful but they put a huge emphasis on the onboarding process. Doing the skills test they want you to do generally is the make or break part of the process for most people. The trick is just do exactly what they want you to do no matter what and you'll be fine. They actually train you how they want you to do it in that week. I've seen a bunch of people that had like 30 to 40 years of a perfect record not get hired and they totally don't understand why. Let me know how it all turns out and if you have any other questions email me at don@20plustrucking.com . Good luck!
I have a ninja indoor grill (experimenting) also with a butane single burner. It does get stinky cooking meats but i can't stand fast food, the smell of subway makes me ill. I'm heading too walmart now to buy steaks and salmon. I hate water so i buy the powder add ins and love it now! It doesn't cost any more cooking then fast food! Just a little more time. I eat veggies and fruits alot more also ❤😊 take care everyone
Yes no doubt it gets stinky cooking in the truck but after a while the fast food gets repulsive. I'm the same way I need something with my water plain doesn't work for me lol
Would they hire me with not at fault accident? I even have the dash cam footage. Also can you stay out for 2 months or do they pick your schedule?
@@nicolelitwicki6600 the thing to do is check out the requirements on the accident thing on their site at drive4walmart.com . As far as the schedule goes they do pick in the very beginning but after a couple of months you're able to choose your own schedule. We don't go out for 2 months at a time with any of the schedules. Our schedules are more like 5 days out two days off or something like that. You never go out more than 6 days at a time. If you have any other questions you can always email me at don@20plustrucking.com And I'll be happy to help.
Ive been driving 4 months now and im striving for my 30 months. I currently working for walmart dedicated here in Arcadia, Fl for swift. Im getting all the practice i can and working for Walmart os my ultimate goal. 26 more months and i will be applying hopefully i can make it!
@@dwightwest9300 That's great! You're in the best spot there to get experience and that will really matter when you apply. If you have any other questions you can always email me at don@20plustrucking.com
they get mad if yourt not super trucker and run 14 hours a day?
@@garytriano13 nah they don't get mad if you don't run 14 but if you're running seven or eight well what do you expect.
Great video brother, I just got hired for the Tomah, WI location I have to move there but that will be just fine I am currently in Savannah, GA but if you want a job as a driver for Walmart you have to be willing to move there is nothing available in the Southeast part of the country but I have known how good working for Walmart is as a driver so it will be worth it I just left Averitt Express which has been good as well but Walmart is definitely the place to be if you can get in so it will be a great change.
Right on that's awesome! I know working at a good DC makes a huge difference as far as I can tell after talking to a lot of drivers. I guess I just got lucky to be at the Red Bluff DC 6826 all these years and I've definitely enjoyed it for sure. It's hard to believe it'll be 18 years this December. Hopefully I can retire in the next couple years we'll see how that goes. Let me know how it goes after working Walmart for a while. My email is don@20plustrucking.com If you have any questions or want to know anything about the job..

The swag is cool ! Im out of 7815
Right on! I appreciate it.
So you don't slip seat? How long does a WalMart driver has to be employed as a WalMart driver to have their own truck?
I'm sure it's different for every DC. I think a lot of it has to do with availability of trucks. Also if you get on a program schedule that would eliminate the slip seating other than the two trucks that may be in your program for example. I've seen some guys get their own truck within a couple of months others longer. There is no hard set rule on this.
@@20plustrucking thank you for the explanation. I'll ask her again if she finally got her own truck yet. You're so fortunate to have yours! Happy Trucking!
You believe in good hydration. That ice-maker looks just big enough for you. It keeps recycling the water so you should always have ice! You don't drink anything unhealthy so anyone who is on the road would benefit from it. How do you keep it anchored down? The only worry I'd have is motion and sudden stops
I tie the cord to the TV mount since I don't watch TV It's not in use.
A good friend is a WalMart driver. I was so happy for her! She loves it there! I believe that because of working there, she's much healthier❤
Right on! Personally I need to work on that even more since I have the opportunity working here.
You’re making a shit load of money on those referrals And you ain’t even buying that driver a fucking cuppa coffee Fuck Walmart I hate shopping there I’d rather pay higher prices somewhere else See what I mean people First couple minutes all he cares about is selling his shirts What a joke I hate videos like this
Can you make more than 110 a year ?
In your first year you probably wouldn't make more than that but anything's possible. If you've been here a long time like myself and if you work full time you probably would make around $140,000 a year.
@@20plustrucking thanks you just waiting for my 30th month
@FlashEffect right on!
Wow, I cant believe how much noise those suckers canceled out! Apple could take a few lessons from Blue Parrot LOL
Thanks it is amazing noise canceling 👍
Very impressive noise cancellation 👏
Yes I was surprised It did better than I thought.
you should try them on with glasses on to see if they are comfortable to wear with glasses on
I didn't think of that I'll try and see.
awesome review thanks this is a good option for me. might be my next headset purchase.
I'm definitely going to be using them in conjunction with my blue parrot going forward.
That great one
Thanks I appreciate that.
Here I would have thought the number one tool was a Winch Dog Breaker Bar. A trucker literally can't do their job without one. That is unless they never have to uncouple a trailer or tie down a load.
We have a switch inside the cab that opens the lockjaws on the fifth wheel and we don't tie no loads down lol I did my share of that 20 years ago.
I currently use a Garmin headset. It's a little bulky, but very comfortable. I like that it works with my dezel 810 GPS
I wondered about those Garmin headsets just don't know anything about them.
Definitely Rand McNally Dryve 220
I almost bought one once seems like it's a good headset.
I love the blue parrot headset but my head is to big and give me a headache but definitely a great headset
Oh well stay tuned for the next video cuz I'm going to be reviewing some over the ear headsets.
I like Blueparrot. Currently running Rand McNally which is pretty comparable.
I almost bought one of those seemed like a good headset.
I have to agree with you, Blue parrot has been my choice of Bluetooth whether on the road or even at home. I prefer them over most for the noise-cancelling capabilities.
I've always preferred them. Although there's plenty of headsets I've never tried because I've just stuck with what works all these years.
Don’t forget ham radio.😊
No doubt ham radio would definitely be fun in the truck with all the traveling we do. Although I believe you already know this
I play my guitar on my brakes.
Worked for Walmart Fleet for 2 years .Worst trucking job I ever had. They surveil you like a hawk. Many drivers are back stabbers. Most toxic trucking fleet I’ve ever encountered.Changed jobs. Not only I make more $$ but I’m treated like a human being.
Oh is that right? What DC did you work out of? What's the DC number.
DOT foods is way better company than Walmart better pay better benefits better schedule etc
Right on that's cool so do they have a 5 days on 5 days off schedule and you can still make six figures? Also I get about 40 days paid off a year. Let me know I'm totally game if they can do better than that I'm always looking for something better if it's out there.
What is the mileage pay?
I'm not sure what the starting rate is but I get about 67 cents a mile. There's different bonuses for how much you get a mile also depending on where you're traveling or when you are traveling. Of course that's only part of how we get paid.
@@20plustrucking Thank you, I am trying to talk a friend of mine into applying. There is a DC in Troutman NC not far from us.
@@ron4413 Right on! I hope they apply they won't regret it
God forbid but I thought it was for a medical emergency. I hope truckers don't need it, but if I hear it I'm truckin running to get or give aid.
I agree! But they need to make it to where you push it again and shuts it off.
Me thinking it would send an alert to dispatch or a call to police for an ambulance. Today I told myself to go on TH-cam to see who spoke on it. Even mistakes can be helpful to others. Thanks!
@@jermainebrown7703 yeah that would be a pretty good idea if they did that. It calls the police or dispatch if you don't shut it off within a minute.
Great content
Thanks! I appreciate it.
Been doing a Walmart dissy for CreteCarrier Cheyenne for last five years looking at switching over I want to keep the same level of activity that I have now, but I wanna get paid for all of my time
Well if you're working for the same DC doing the same job I'm sure you'll stay just as busy. One thing's for sure you definitely will get paid well for everything you do. If you been doing it for 5 years I'm sure you'll get a call back right away.
I made over $500 while 80 was closed due to snow and having to go through Susanville … there’s money to be made ! I had no problems during winter ❄️
No doubt it can work that way sometimes but in the winter it's just a matter of time before they shut all the roads down or have an accident. I'm not really into gambling on whether it's going to work or not so I just take the winter off for the most part.
Can u vape?
I'm not sure. I'm guessing not but I can't be positive on that. I only say that because it seems like at all the businesses out there we go to in the world they seem to include vaping with smoking.
Thank u for your answer! I been a truck driver for 18 years I just applied
Can I use your name so you get paid for referral pay?
@@18wheelsdestinydiyantiagin61 of course! I do appreciate that. I believe on the application it asks do you know anybody that works at Walmart and that's where you would put this information in: Donald Smith employee number 14609 DC 6826 Red Bluff, CA
Right on! I'm sure you won't regret it I've been driving for 22 years and I've been at Walmart 17 years and it'll be 18 years in December. I never planned on driving truck this long or even being at Walmart this long but this job is so easy and relaxing and pays so good they make it really hard to leave.
I will love to apply for it ,but I don’t see any regional available here in Florida 😢 I have 10 years experience clean records
I think Florida might be hard to get into but you just got to keep an eye on the listings and wait for something to come up. Good luck let me know if anything comes up.
@@20plustrucking Sure, I'll start looking, and when I find something, I'll mention you as a reference. Thanks for the information. I hope I get it. I want the best for myself and my family. I'm tired of working for companies that just drain everything out of you.
@@Manuel-Alejandro3189 I do appreciate that thank you. Yes if you can get on with Walmart you will definitely be doing good for your family. As far as companies draining you it will definitely be better if you can get away from that I know because I've been there. If you have any questions along the way you're welcome to email me whenever at don@20plustrucking.com Good luck and keep me up to date.
Do Walmart trucks have cameras facing drivers?
No they do not. They only have cameras that face the road and they only come on if there's a hard breaking event or an accident.
I start onboarding this coming Monday. How does walmart schedule their appointments for deliveries. When ever my last employer delivered to a DC, it was normally a set appt. time. If delivering to a store, it was normally a window.
Right on that's awesome! Appointments at a vendor is pretty lax You kind of get there when you get there. Although there are a few vendors that have a strict time. As far as a DC or a store goes there is a window with an absolute time. Generally we always deliver DC's and stores way earlier than the delivery time.
