    10 more months ill be hopefully applying to walmart if a position is available. I been doing chemical tankers for a while so I understand more than most that you will have problems here and there no matter where you work so even if they happened more frequently there id still be flexible lol. My biggest concern is all the associates taking all the driver spots by the time i get these 10 more months i need to apply

    • @20plustrucking
      @20plustrucking  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I don't think you have to worry about that. I don't believe there's enough associates doing it to fill all the positions.

    Meanwhile, the drivers that are only telling everyone about the good parts of being a Walmart driver are getting that referral money.😮

      @@JA-yg7nc lol In 2 years I've only gotten three referrals yet I answer all the comments and respond to all the emails everyday. Like I say I'm here to help I don't care if I get the referral or not it's just an extra. As the drivers meet me in the DC which I've met a lot of them they learn right away I'm just a down-to-earth person that likes to help others. I complain about stuff I don't like also but I try not to dwell on it it doesn't help.

    Why doesn’t none of the drivers take advantage of the FREE education and get a degree, they offer so many good bachelors degrees with awesome universities.

      I applied for the associate to driver program. The DC I applied for only had 1 position open. I was told that they would keep my application open just incase the person they did choose didn't make it through some of the screening processes. Was also told that I should defiantly apply in the next quarter.

    Do Walmart trucks have cameras facing drivers?

  • @tahntalus
    @tahntalus 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    wait, i looked at the application and it says that if a driver has any preventable accidents while operating a truck cannot be considered for hiring?---> "Have you had any preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years?"

    • @20plustrucking
      @20plustrucking  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I believe they are saying exactly what it says. If you've had any preventable accidents in the last 3 years. I suppose they won't consider you if that's the case. I've never had any accidents or tickets in 22 years so I never really had to think about that when I was getting hired.

    • @tahntalus
      @tahntalus 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      the problem with this is that wording is left up to intepretation of said company. back in 2005 i was in new orleans right after hurricane katrina i scraped paint off the back of my mirror when i was backing off the street into a mobile dock. needless to say there was debris and trees everywhere. being a company driver for cfi i had to report it and they put it on my dac as an accident? Fair? i didnt think so. it kept me from leaving and going to crete carrier which had a similiar policy as walmart. with more then 20 years driving ive had to learn that sometimes life happens@@20plustrucking

I know I get 64 cents a mile but as far as the activity and how many PTO days I get I don't know for sure. Seems like it only took like 5 years to get to the top pay rate but I could be wrong on that.

      Yes I do. Make sure you write everything down that they tell you so there's no misunderstandings. And if you're not sure about something even a little make sure you ask them and have them explain it until you do understand. I've heard of a lot of stories where there was miscommunication and that's a bad way to start off even if it's not your fault.

    • @20plustrucking

      Yeah that whole autonomous truck thing is going to be a while. Companies don't like to spend money even if it will save them money in the future. I'm sure that anybody getting into the industry now will be able to have a full career from beginning to end if they get a good job like this one.

    • @truckerd9132
      @truckerd9132 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Autonomous is a dream by a guy behind a desk. Look at the two nuclear verdicts that Werner had to pay out. Both drivers were not at fault or ticketed. Still paid millions. Someone with a cell phone slams into a autonomous truck with it not being the trucks fault will probably be a nuclear verdict times two or three. Will possibly put companies out of business. Autonomous will only work if everyone is autonomous including cars. Far, far, away.

    • @20plustrucking
      @20plustrucking  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Average gross weekly pay is about $2,200. That's not counting the quarterly safety bonus. As far as take home goes that depends on the driver like how many dependents you have and what level of insurance you pay for and whether you have a 401k contribution or buying stock.
