One reason I've yet to apply for Walmart is because I didn't know if the holidays were off. I've never worked Christmas, Thanksgiving, or New Years, and I don't plan on changing that.
You won't have to work Christmas or Thanksgiving although I'm not sure about New Year's but you could just take it off. You'll start off with like 25 paid days off the first year. I've been here 17 years and I get almost 40 paid days off a year.

Way back in the mid seventies I was driving team for Navajo freight lines the Blue Eyed Indian. My partner and I did miss one Christmas, we got home on Dec. 26th. As it turned out it was just a trucking thing no ones fault. The company tried to get us home ,we tried to get home but it was on of those trips where if something could go wrong it did.. Breakdowns, weather more breakdowns. We could have been all pi--ed off but that would not have changed anything.
Yeah I totally understand sometimes things just happen. That's pretty awesome to work for a company that'll get you home for Christmas continually year after year. I know I sure appreciate it especially since I got kids that want their dad home for Christmas.

Great video as usual Don! Hope you and the family had a great Christmas! The DC that ill be working out of is a grocery DC im assuming ill have alot of live unloads. Is this usually typical for grocery versus GM? Im on the east coast Sutherland Va. Appreciate your info!

@waltercox2207 only info as of now is after onboarding in Delaware ill then go to Sutherland for orientation. After that I'll have a mentor for a couple weeks. I live about 100 miles from the DC so I'll be OTR. 5-2 schedule.

When u leave dc loaded to a store do you return empty to dc?
Sometimes you do sometimes you take pallets to the pallet yard or you go empty to a vendor to pick up a full load of something and take it back to another DC.

Santa Nella CA is in North Central California off the I-5. There is a rotten Robbie, TA, and a Love’s all on the same exit.
