    Thanks for the information! I've been considering making the switch to Wal-Mart for sometime now. I have 26 years with no accidents/tickets driving for a private fleet that manufactures pipe. The corporate culture here leaves a lot to be desired and the pay isn't keeping up with inflation. Great channel!

    I've been driving a cmv for 15 years with one ticket 18 months ago (4 mph over). No accidents but was fired by one employer for refusing to haul an unsafe trailer. Still waiting to go to court on that one. Hauled may loads for Walmart. Have seven walmart referrals. What do you think are my chances of getting on.

    • @20plustrucking
      @20plustrucking  5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I think the only thing that might be a problem is that ticket 18 months ago but it explains it pretty clearly on the website at drive4walmart.com I don't think you need to worry about the getting fired thing. That kind of thing is just hearsay according to what your old boss thinks. Walmart is more concerned about things like moving violations or DUIs.

  • @HaHaonyou

      If you have an employer that's insisting you drive in weather that's unsafe then yes you should refuse to work for that employer you are correct. Although I don't remember implying that in my video but I do agree with that. You get in a huge crash that's your fault You can pretty much forget any good job in the future goodbye. Are the 5 day on/5 day off schedules available immediately or would you need to work a couple years before you’re eligible?

    • @20plustrucking
      @20plustrucking  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I've met a couple of guys that have got it within the first year. It just depends on the DC and what they offer and how many trucks are available. Even if you didn't get it the first year there's plenty of schedules that are pretty awesome. I worked the 6/3 for years and loved it. That's 6 days on 3 days off. Really it's more like 5 and 1/2 days on and 3 and 1/2 off because you run out of hours on the 6th day in the morning usually if you're not saving them.

    Thank you so much for all of the information. I am ready to drive for Walmart. I have 11 years otr experience and 6 years of that was with reefer trailers. I have no accidents or violations ever, except for one overweight ticket back in 2018. I've worked for 4 trucking companies over these past 11 years but I've only driven automatics for the last 7 years and I'm pretty sure I could pass in a standard transmission truck but it might be a little bouncy at first, lol. I used to have the hazmat endorsement but I let it go some years back because I didn't need it. I live 30 miles from the DC in Clarksville, AR and 90 miles from the DC in Searcy, AR. Searcy is hiring but Clarksville is not. If I start at Searcy, would I be allowed to switch to Clarksville when an opening comes up? Thanks again for all of the great info and I will, of course, be using you as my reference on the application.

    • @20plustrucking
      @20plustrucking  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sounds like you'd be perfect for this job. You're the type of person they're looking for. As far as getting hired at one DC and transferring to another yes you can do that for sure. I think it maybe 6 months or possibly a year you'd have to double check on that but a lot of people do it. As far as your hazmat goes that's no issue at all they will hire you without it but then you will have 120 days to get it and of course they will pay for it. I'm pretty sure you'll be testing in an automatic. Believe it or not we have quite a few new drivers that are working here with an automatic only license. I really appreciate you using me as a referral on your application here's the info to put down in the section that says do you know anybody that works at Walmart. • @20plustrucking
      @20plustrucking  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Well yes in some cases like the 6/3 (6 days on 3 days off). And it actually works pretty well I did it for years. It's totally efficient because both trucks never stop running everyday and the drivers can plan on being in one of those trucks each week. If you got good partners it actually works really well. As far as any other situations like that I don't know haven't seen it. The thing to remember is you're only in the truck really for like five and a half days so there's no need moving into the truck. You just have the stuff you use for that week. As far as a microwave a coffee pot and different utensils you may use or tools you can leave them in there and use them each time you use the truck. Like I said if you have a good partners everything works just fine.

      @@scottlittle7712 well the bad thing is sometimes people get partners that they really don't get along with and it makes the whole thing just seem bad. The best thing for them to do is just get with management and tell them it's not working out with the current partners and try to search out someone they do get along with. A lot of drivers don't realize if things aren't good or something's not working out there is a solution they just need to speak up and address it.
