  • Walmart culture used to be real strong, with high morale and a great working atmosphere that sets a feeling of pride where you work. I believe it's making a comeback!

    I started with Walmart 11 months ago and I love going inside at 6035. There are almost always a few drivers in there talking unless it's super late at night talking with each other about stores and life and everything. It's the same with the warehouse associates too. Management, our GTM, coordinators, shop, and even the yard drivers are cool to talk to. Other DC's I've been to in the region are nice but coming back to Ottawa always feels like coming home so to say.

      Right on! I'm sure there's a lot of stories like that out there I'm glad to hear it.

    I've gotten a lot of information about Walmart from yourself and other drivers, but unfortunately the seniority over schedules and requesting days off is what's kept me from applying.

      @20plustrucking  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Even with low seniority you can still get a great schedule and get most days off your request. Although if you're wanting strictly a Monday through Friday Saturday and Sunday off go home everyday type of situation then yeah I can understand that.

      I'm sure you got some interesting conversations with all the drivers because being a truck driver we generally have the gift of gab lol I appreciate the comment.

    I came from a company that I thought was the best to work for but here at Walmart it's something different. Love it here

      Yep same here I worked at a company where I got along well with the owner and his son I was treated pretty good and thought I had it all. Then I came to Walmart and that was my response too. Working here is something different lol

      Maybe but I wouldn't rule it out who knows what could happen in the future. Although I don't see myself moving out that way. I appreciate the feedback on the videos saying things like that help me stay inspired to dig for more topics to talk about on the channel. I appreciate it.

    I think the whole trucking culture has gone to the wayside ever since COVID hit. A lot of new drivers came in without having the comrade that we used to in the past. Overall etiquette, ethics, etc.
    What also has changed drastically is social media and online shopping experience. The whole customer experience with the associates have taken a huge turn especially once self checkouts started hitting stores.
    People being social wish would come back.

    • @20plustrucking
      @20plustrucking  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes I agree COVID really accelerated all of that and we've never really came back from it. I don't believe it's completely dead but it definitely needs one hell of a jump start to get going again. I try and do my part by being friendly and talking to people even if I can tell they don't really want to talk lol

      I’d definitely be interested in joining Walmart as a truck driver. Unfortunately I only have a little over two years experience. I’ve worked for Walmart previously to working for Prime Inc for 2 years as an assistant manager over GM. I now work for Casey’s driving truck. Nice gig, but completely hands on which I don’t mind. But getting older and I’m making more noises when I lean over. 😂

      @@juniortrucker3389 You only need 30 months experience to get on here at Walmart. When you get to that point I would definitely apply.
