    I have 2 years experience. Clean MVR. Clean FMCSA. Not one accident. Netradyne monthly score over 1000. Currently working 4 days on 4 days off for Amazon Freight Partner. I'm interested in switching to Walmart. Located in Oklahoma City.

    I’ve been driving for 10 years. 9 years Pepsi. One year Us foods. I wish I could get on at the dc in London ky. But they never have openings

      Yep some DC's are like that. All you can do is just keep checking for openings. Periodically or go to another DC and transfer later on when an opening comes up.

    I got called back in 10 days. No referral. What i did bring to the table was a spotless driving record and 13yrs experience.

    • @20plustrucking
      @20plustrucking  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      No doubt that helps a lot for sure. As far as the referral goes they've already said that those applications are put on top of the pile. Both of these things will make a huge difference on how quick you get called back. Especially if it's hundreds of applicants for one job position. No doubt if I ever have to look for a job again my 22 years of experience with no tickets or accidents will be my biggest asset hands down.

    Next question, what are your trucks governed at? I'm guessing Walmart has gone to automatics just like most other companies, do they have any manuals left in the fleet? And if you're running a normal schedule do you have your own truck or do you slip seat? I personally think it's kind of nasty sleeping where other people sleep and not having your own mattress.

    • @20plustrucking
      @20plustrucking  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The trucks are governed at 65 mph and yes we're pretty much all automatic at this point. As far as having your own truck it depends on what schedule you pick. Even though you have a full-time schedule and have your own truck they can still lend it out on your days off. Overall a lot of these programs are a slip seating situation with partners that you actually work with within the program. Although a lot of the new guys have to slip seat pretty often until they get settled in where they're going to be. For instance I just share the truck with one person because I am on a five on five off program so on my days off my partner is driving his 5 days on. It actually works pretty good because he takes care of the truck and is very clean and I don't get any surprises from unknown people. The thing to keep in mind is this is not an over the road living in the truck situation You're only out for 5 days so you really don't need a lot of stuff with you for 5 days and that's only four nights of sleeping.

      It’s like 240 a day, I just finished it a couple of weeks ago, the first two days you are in the passenger seat and then you’re driving after that, when you drive you make what the truck makes for that day minus the layover pay.

      @@nicolelitwicki6600 the thing to do is check out the requirements on the accident thing on their site at drive4walmart.com . As far as the schedule goes they do pick in the very beginning but after a couple of months you're able to choose your own schedule. We don't go out for 2 months at a time with any of the schedules. Our schedules are more like 5 days out two days off or something like that. You never go out more than 6 days at a time. Couple questions for you, what exactly are the benefits like there? I'm talking about medical and dental, is the coverage decent or are there big copays if you have to go to the doctor for anything? Everybody claims good medical but when you really get into it most places have garbage medical insurance.

    • @20plustrucking
      @20plustrucking  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well I'll be honest with you it's really not that great. Although I don't pay for the top plan so I couldn't say for sure. I will say there is a lot of different choices more than I can explain on here for sure. My wife uses our medical a lot but I haven't been to the doctor for much of anything in the last 35 years.

    Hello brother God bless you.
    I like your content. (TH-cam)
    I have some questions for you: I currently work at a Walmart in Hoover-Alabama, I have all my documents and papers in Rules but I am HISPANIC.
    I want to know if Walmart's internal training program for new truckers is active here (in ALABAMA).
    I HAVE BEEN DRIVING 18 AND 22 WHEEL HEAVY DAILY TRUCKS IN MY COUNTRY FOR MANY YEARS
    I want to enroll in Walmart's internal training program because I do not have a CLASS A CDL.
    Do you know: WHERE, WHEN AND HOW I can start the training.
    I work the night shift. From 10 at night to 7 in the morning stocking merchandise on the shelves in the hallways.
    I am afraid to ask my direct supervisor and my store manager for this information because I fear that instead of helping me. Maybe they just discourage me. And just advise me to forget about that idea. I fear that they are worried about running out of staff, among other things.
    I am a father with three beautiful daughters and I am truly passionate about being a truck driver. I hope you can understand me and help me with the information. God bless your projects and your channel.

      @@josevelasquez5831 I wish I knew another way you could apply for this but as far as I know that's the only way to apply for the program. Even if there was another way your direct supervisor would know about it. It would be extremely risky for them to give you a hard time about applying for that program. Basically if they try to discourage you or not help you they could get fired. I totally understand where you're coming from I also have three daughters and a wife. The thing is you're going to just have to take a leap of faith and ask your direct supervisor about it. I think it would be worth it to try and sign up for it because there is no deal this good in the industry right now. Essentially you are skipping two and a half years of low pay and hard work. Basically you're getting one of the best jobs in the industry right out the gate. Keep me up to date and let me know how it turns out. You can always email me at don@20plustrucking.com

I was at a vendor in Washington and I was doing like 6 miles an hour in the parking lot and a Hermiston driver told me that I was driving erratic and grabbing gears in the parking lot lol I just laughed at him and told him he will get over it in time lol The way to deal with it is just ignore it because what they say doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is if you're doing it in front of safety are they going to have a problem.
