It is funny some of the games we get into concerning Biblical prophesy. The number of the beast adding up to 666, there is plenty of stuff on the pope or the office of the papacy, but Catholics have had their fun to plugging in the name of various Reformers like Luther, but I'm pretty sure Ellen White was one of the dozen names they tested out on that added up to the number of the beast.

Baha'u'llah is not the only beast. Muhammad fits the definition, Joseph Smith fits the definition, Ellen G White fits the definition. There's more than false prophet, there's more than one beast, there's more than one anti-christ

The USA is NOT the second beast of Revelation 13! The second beast of Revelation 13 is Satan manifesting as Christ (Matthew 24). The lamb-like beast is the Maitreya, the Cosmic Christ, the All-Seeing-Eye, that non-Christians are also looking for. He will demand that the world follows a “one mind” set. Like the UN was formed out of the chaos of WWII, global governance will sprout from the coming chaos. Satan will demand homage to the first beast because he will vest it with his authority. The number 666 is the number of Apollo the Sun god (calculate the magic square of the Sun/Apollo). Apollo was the god of civil and religious law. Satan/Lucifer is Apollo. People need to truly dig into Daniel and Revelation and not accept what has been regurgitated to them.

Daily, I am becoming aware of new and troubling details about this so called remnant church. From all of the heretical doctrines to the stories of self focused greed exhibited by the Whites is unbelievable. The stranglehold that woman had on the early 7’s and that she continues to have on every current member is unimaginable to me. My heart aches for those trapped inside the SDA prison. Pray for the Holy Spirit to open the eyes of the souls duped by those people.

Heads up: Hillsdale is offering a free (online video) course on "Paradise Lost." Should be interesting. I've long suspected that at least one of their religion professors might be SDA in disguise, so I'm wondering what their take on "Paradise Lost" will be?

I'm a former SDA. Thankful every day that the Lord saved me from this ridiculous religion. I tithes faithful for most of my life because I thought I would not be saved if I didn't. It was such a a relief to find out that we are under a new covenant and are no longer under the old. The sda version of religion is a cherry picked salad from all over the Bible.

As a teenage Adventist myself I have never been too much interested in the writings of Ellen G. White even though my grandmother tried to get me into it. I strictly read the Bible myself and even though I admit that I am not the strongest bible reader and I am also not the most consistent with my reading, it get to a point of personal belief and who you surround yourself with. Now I personally think that you don’t always find God through the church no matter what God worshiping religion but you find him through personal experiences and convictions that you go through on a day to day basis. There are plenty of people who have a very strong relationship with God who don’t go to church just simply because they don’t find it necessary or more complex reasons. I know that in a lot of churches especially my church the people aren’t always the best and sometimes even the pastor can be a problem but you also have to remember that you cannot let the people around you destroy your personal relationship with God so if your ina bad church it’s not necessarily the religion as a whole but the people who you surround yourself with in that religion.

Really loved this discussion. Chris’s advice at the end had me choking up, it’s true - Jesus will take care of you, there is nothing to fear if we follow Him. Leaving the SDA church had me gaining nothing except Christ. We can’t go back to a false system after experiencing the joy of His salvation. Keep up the ministries, both Miles and Chris. When I look at my path out of adventism, which took a few years, and I didn’t know I was actually on the path for quite a while, the question of tithing caused the first real crack. A Q&A in Adventist Review about backdating tithe for an old lady who hadn’t tithed for a while was answered with the suggestion she sell some property to get the money to pay back the missing tithe. This really rubbed me the wrong way. I looked into what the bible actually said, the different things Ellen said and came to the conclusion she was wrong on this matter. This caused me some consternation as I was one who believed she was an accurate interpreter of the bible.

Sir, how about the dietary laws, they are not part of the ten commandments, how about the passover which was celebrated by jesus christ, how about the other festivals which was also celebrated by jesus christ? Are we going to do away with it also? How about the statutes concerning lesbian ang homosexuals, they are statutes found only in the old testament? Are we going to do it away also? Try to rethink your discussion sir, maybe you are wrong. The verse romans14:5 talks about fasting not the jewish festivals.

Thanks for the response. Those who worship the one and only true God are defined in Rev 12:17, " ...which keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus." It is that straightforward, rest of you are keeping the commandments of men (the antichrist) in place of God's commandments. That is why am saying it is not too late for you to come back to the worship of the true God who created the heavens and the earth in six days, blessed and rested on the seventh day.
