The SDA’s I grew up around were the most cold hearted, hateful, bitter, prideful and unloving people I have ever known - the 3 or 4 exceptions to this do not make up for the overwhelming majority. 15 years later I went back to church it only took a few weeks and I left again only it was in theological grounds this time. The character of CHRIST is reflected in behaviour not excuses for bad behaviour !
Adventists were some of the nicest people I've met. Right up there with the Mormons I knew. How nice they are doesn't compensate for how wrong their doctrine is.
I had a relationship with a wonderful Adventist lady from near Andrews, when I thought SDA was just another denomination. I liked her friends and parents and her vegan cooking was amazing. But there was always this elephant in the room. Interestingly, she told me she at times forgot I was not Adventist because I wasn’t full of tattoos, did not cuss and dressed well. That spoke volumes about her picture of non SDA Christians. Unfortunately, at some point she told me either I make an effort to learn more about Adventism or let her go. I had learned enough, so I let her go.
I think a marriage with her would have been a disaster. Every week there would be an argument. I like to work on cars as s hobby Saturdays. That would not have been acceptable.
My uncles were so mean to their children going by Ellen Whites writings that my cousin just died without believing in God and my other cousin hates any kind of religions now. My husband and my family are all SDA. I won't go to church anymore since I've been listening to your videos.
Just realize, most of the churches have error. Most so called "protestants" actually hold to alot of catholic ideology, just less catholic ideology than the catholic church. They are sort of like the "orthodox " just less orthodox. And much like the pope is a false prophet, you do not want to go to any church which has some apostolic authority you have to be under. The SDA church is the same, it has a false prophet. False prophets are idols, because they claim their words are the words of God. That right there makes them not a church of God, because they placed the false prophet in the place of God. That prophet is the prophet of another god. So you cannot keep sabbath holy if you are breaking the commandments. The best thing to do is leave that church, start a home church or a weekly bible study at home if you cannot find another church near you that observes sabbath. It would be nice if it was easy just to walk into a nice building, with everything orderly and listening to sound doctrine. But the world does not operate like that. Things are not that easy. This is a fallen world that is full of horrible things. No one is entitled to anything.

I think it's much better to just try and start ones own church unless they are fortunate enough to have a rare bible believing church with solid teachings around them. Many people I know also support a guy that pushed lockdowns and warp speed on them, which many thought looked like the mark of the beast. Many of those people claim to be Christian and want Trump to be president again. So obviously, that same mentality is involved in most churches or this world would not be such a mess. So one needs to be careful of most churches.

I can say this from experience, Its the cognitive dissonance. Do you know how life altering it is to know what you've been calling Truth all this time is wrapped up tight in fallacies. Its a very hard pill to swallow that for umpteen years you've been deceived. We have to honestly pray for these people, that the Holy spirit gives them the mental fortitude to receive the truth. I remember when I first started looking into sda (because i married one), I saw a video where an ex sda was standing outside the sda church trying to convince them of the gospel. Lol, I remember so vividly one of the older kids saying, "did an sda hurt you?" 😂. Since then I have seen it so much as a rationalization to why someone left the church cause God forbid if the church is wrong on any doctrine.

SDA theology is a combination and continuation of two ancient heresies: Arrianism and Pelagianism. In brief, that Jesus is not eternally divine, of the same substance of the Father, thus His sacrifice must be completed by the sinful believer. Jesus was the perfect example for humans to follow in order to be accepted by God. This theology dove-tails with Pelagianism, that through the proper use of the will, sinful humans are to cooperate in their salvation until they have overcome sin in the flesh. In both cases, Christ as our Substitute before God is superfluous. Yes. Adventism is a cave of thieves, for it robs Christ of His glory. And for me it was also theology that drove me out of the SDA church. It is a contradiction of every tenet of Christian faith. It does not deserve the name of Christian. But they use it as a straw man for people to put their money into this multi-national corporation. But it defends itself as a cat when attacked. Yet, it does not blink an eye to attack Christian believers who put their faith in Christ alone.
I left Adventism from reading the Word of God. It was hard days of studying the Bible and seeing if the 28 fundamental beliefs matched. It took almost 2 years to understand that the Bible is Truth, and that the 28 belief book doesn't stand in harmony with it. I suppose that was because I was 3rd gen 7. I did not have a falling out with any of my friends or family. I did not have a misunderstanding with any of the local church staff. I was not evangelized out by anyone outside of SDA. In fact when I cancelled my membership and the staff asked why? I told them it was for Biblical doctrinal differences. Then they pressed me on all the church hurt crap. I had to convince them it was solely doctrinal, to which they quickly no longer wanted to talk about it. Almost 10 years later now, and life is wonderful. Praise God my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
i believe the 28 (and ever growing) are guidelines, not at all a foundational rule we are mandated to follow. i do however believe the Ten Commandments, among such the Lord's day being the 7th day Sabbath. anyhow, am praying all is well and God guides your future, Sir!

All religions are not perfect and the Bible has been misinterpreted. The SDAs are right about the Sabbath and their health message promoting vegetarianism. Also their interpretation of prophecy seems correct to me. On other things I don’t know, I haven’t study it. Just give us the facts and not so much personal information. I went to a Mormon church this past weekend and the sermon was taken from a story in the Book of Mormon and the speaker specifically said “ we should all read scriptures especially the Book of Mormon. “ Adventist don’t even come close to uttering EGW higher than scriptures. And they said Happy Sabbath on a Sunday 😛 Yet you have a channel specifically attacking SDA’s putting EGW over scriptures which isn’t true at all. I’m proud to be an SDA cause out of all the churches out there who don’t even obey the commandments, you chose us. Wow! 😃

I use to take ur sayings into consideration untill I begin to notice some pattern especially when I came across the video on the Trinity.
All religions are not perfect and the Bible has been misinterpreted. The SDAs are right about the Sabbath and their health message promoting vegetarianism. Also their interpretation of prophecy seems correct to me. On other things I don’t know, I haven’t study it. Just give us the facts and not so much personal information. I got a 1000 TH-cam videos to watch. 😊

it's the same conclusions i came to before becoming Adventist. unfortunately, many in this thread have had bad experiences and see things online which they run with -- i did as well before actually going and discovering myself what -they- we actually believe and teach.

I went to a Mormon church this past weekend and the sermon was taken from a story in the Book of Mormon and the speaker specifically said “ we should all read scriptures especially the Book of Mormon. “ Adventist don’t even come close to uttering EGW higher than scriptures. And they said Happy Sabbath on a Sunday 😛 Yet you have a channel specifically attacking SDA’s putting EGW over scriptures which isn’t true at all. I’m proud to be an SDA cause out of all the churches out there who don’t even obey the commandments, you chose us. Wow! 😃
The Sabbath School uses Ellen Whites writings far more in volume than the scripture
