I have often wondered how W. Miller swayed so many into his time setting. What did he preach? What conclusive evidence did he provide to convince his followers? There is no other timeline in prophecy that goes beyond 1844. It is the longest of them all. That the cleansing of the sanctuary was symbolic of Jesus' 2nd coming. Oct. 22, 1844 was not the 2nd coming. Jesus told us we do not know the day nor the hour. There is no other timeline in prophecy that goes beyond 1844. It is the longest of them all. It is why the angel of Rev 10:6 said "there should be time no longer:"
Humans are fallible and make mistakes. William Miller made the same mistake the majority of Christendom had made. That the cleansing of the sanctuary was symbolic of Jesus' 2nd coming.
Oct. 22, 1844 was not the 2nd coming. Jesus told us we do not know the day nor the hour. Therefore the cleansing of the sanctuary must mean something else.
Miller also did not take into account other prophecies that must be fulfilled before Jesus comes. But, no doubt, The Lisbon earthquake (forget the year), Dark Day, Blood Moon (of 1780) and the meteorite shower of 1833 convinced him time was short.

Christ had a Gospel that He commanded to be proclaimed to the whole world.
SDA have a secret "gospel" known only to themselves, kept among themselves & only revealed to a select few within themselves.
In fact, most SDAs don't even know either gospel & will deny the unique SDA gospel exists when asked.
Does this sound like how a loving God would act?
To openly set out to save the entire world & then sneak in a top secret twist 1800 years later that only a very select few could ever discover?

The text clearly shows 3 angels following each other (one after the other) in consecutive order. The "time" (the Greek word is "hora") of God's judgement must begin BEFORE Babylon becomes twice fallen, which in turn happens BEFORE the mark of the beast is received.
The 1st angel announces a time of judgement has come (not "is coming") and commands the worship of our Creator. Rejecting this message leads to the 2nd angel. The word "Babylon" here is "confusion". Those that reject the message of the 1st angel have no choice but to fall back again into apostasy (religious groups/denominations that were coming out of apostasy but then fall back - twice fallen). This, of course, leads to the 3rd angel and receiving the MotB.

@davidstarr6604 these angel's have not appeared yet. In fact, EGW makes the bold claim that they are only "figurative " and the SDA's are the real 3 angel's of endtimes. Literally writing themselves into revelation. One of their bad habits. It's obvious they have learned nothing from the 1844 failure.

You don't think the gospel message is here yet? When is it supposed to come then? What about Jesus' death on the cross for salvation from sin? Isn't that part of the gospel? Yet you don't believe this?
Of course the angels are figurative. Jesus commissioned His followers to spread the gospel message.
And yes, the prophecies speak several times about a part God's people still have to play in the last days. If you don't believe they refer to you then do not pretend to be one of His.
@davidstarr6604 yes the gospel of Paul and the apostles have been here a long time. But according to SDA'S it's incomplete. So they have been tasked to bring the real version for these last days and only they have this special understanding and inserting themselves into the Bible.
I'm curious. What makes the 3 angel's figurative and not literal as scripture says? Second, did the 2 angel prophecy become fulfilled in 1844 at the event of Miller's failed prophecy? If so, how?

2) The 2nd angel began AFTER 1844 when Miller's timeline was rejected by the majority of Christian churches at the time. Mainly due to the misunderstanding of what the "cleansing of the sanctuary" was.
