th-cam.com/video/cDAadc43nvU/w-d-xo.html Here's the video of my CG Ultimate conversion to electric. I've been up about 6 times, but I keep wanting to 3D with it. It's a little heavy for that. But I'll keep trying. I try not to fly it too hard. But sooner or later most end up like end of your video. I hope you can find another kit. They're pretty hard to find. I have a spare cowl and wheel pants I wont be using.
What engine is it
@@theaerolife Saito FG21 4 stroke gas engine 20:1
Another round of applause to you for sharing your amazing video series. I'm half way done with a TP Cessna 182 kit and your tips have been a great time saver! Thank you again!
@@roddraym awesome! Thanks for watching I truly appreciate you. Happy building and flying
Hi, I really learned a lot from your video. I have a question how do you cut the door opening ?
I used a sharp number 11 blade and straight edge metal ruler. Little by little tracing around the door lines I drew with the blade until you completely cut through.
I also dig you details. It came out SWEET!!!!
Thank you
Hey I got a tip for ya. I saw you using a sealing iron. Top Flite makes a trim seal sealing iron. I got two. One for monokote and I use the other to smooth out the hot glue in the seams. It's also good for separating mistakes. Or if you get a drip. You can reflow the glue to wipe it off. If you get a crinkle. It won't get it out. But it will soften it a bit. Just be careful not to over heat it because it will start to bulge the foam a little bit
Yes I have both and have used them on my foamboard models as well.
Your video actually helped me. I was stumped on the battery tray. I can't find a build video and the symbol mapping videos don't show it. Nor does the symbol mapping show where the formers fall on the battery tray. Your video did help me decide which way I'm going to put it. So thanks
Awesome glad it helped when needed. Thanks for watching as well.
I have built lots of flite test planes. I loved how there was a build video to go along with the plane. I have come to hate symbol mapping. It doesn't show where the formers fall on the spine or exactly where the formers fall on the skins. Nor does it give instructions on where to start weather building the wing or fuselage. No instructions or a plan showing the general layout.I used to really enjoy building their planes. Now I can't stand them. I'm going back to good old balsa planes. I hate symbol mapping without some kind of guide. Flite test is stupid
@@user-ql6qc9ug2j I was the same as far as following along on their foamboard builds. Then symbol mapping came into play and I did not like it and how they don't have a follow along video like before. However with that said I am a builder and a builder by heart so I basically had to understand the symbol mapping and how these symbols correlates to the build process. Once I got two builds with symbol mapping under my belt it became easy and really don't need a follow video. Also gotta understand that I am a balsa builder and modeler first and been building since 1982 so the love of building and creating is just part of my journey and I enjoy the process and current times and techniques. Nothing will keep me from enjoying a good build difficult or easy it don't matter. Happy building and flying no matter what it is.
@@BayonasRCWorld right now I'm building the master series c47 sky train. The battery box that goes between the removable nose and the front half of the fuselage. I don't know what way is up, the front, where the formers fall, anything. And it rather large. The only marking on the piece is a b fold mark. That's it? It's like a twelve inch piece. Of it had a mark line for the formers it would give me some idea where it goes. And if I didn't have a video for the F4 phantom I never would have been able to build that one. The f16 viper came with some instructions. You would think the c47 would come with something? But it's lacking. And the playlist crap doesn't have anything on it. Apparently I'm supposed to just know through osmosis of something. It's aggravating
@@user-ql6qc9ug2j yeah I hear yeah on that one! It's been quite awhile since I built the 72" C47 so I am not gonna try and pretend that I can remember hehehehe. And my build video is not a follow along video so I guarantee it did not help you either way. So sorry brother.
Thank you my brother❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Outstanding 🎉
Outstanding video great job
Much appreciated! Thank you for watching
Most of my model planes are from Great Planes and are all covered in Monocote. Im flying since 1986 and i love Monocote. I have a few models also that were manufactured in Vietnam and are covered in Oracover which is Ultracote. Im not a big fan of it and personally its definitely not as good as Monocote. But it is so sad that Monocote is disappearing, but thats life as they say. Nothing stays the same.
Very true nothing stays the same. And that included myself in that mix. I just could not just get over the fact that Monokote is no more. Well I changed as well with the times and to continue enjoying building and covering I will give other covering materials a go.
I have just watched the whole of this video for a second time and i never get bored watching it. You are a master craftsman and a genius at covering rc balsa planes. Really really good at what you do and its a pleasure to see you in action and giving out all these helpful tips and showing us all the proper way to do it. Im in my early 60s and flying rc glow engine model aircraft for over 38 years. I fly at a local club and this will be the first time ive ever made an attempt to cover a plane. I will be using Oracover, its called Ultracote in the USA. Its a 14 year old plane that i have stripped down and all the wood is secure and sound. The horizontal stabiliser and vertical stabiliser are all glued down of course and i will be following your videos step by step to ensure that i do as good a job as possible. Many thanks again for sharing.

This is my 1st full covering job using Ultracote covering. Since the 80's I have used Monokote.
I have not uploaded Part 3 of the covering of the wings video yet. I will soon once I get to it.
Many thanks for the Ultracote covering video. Will look forward to Part 3 of the covering of the wings. Kind regards. This will be extremely helpful in hoping I can do a half decent job in covering as it will be my first time. It's a big plane the Super Frontier Senior. 80 inch wingspan and the fuselage length is 56 inches long. How many rolls in metres do you think I should order? Thanks. P.S There is 2 metres in each roll.
@@easystar123 all depends on what color scheme or pattern combinations you are to do. For my Reactor 50 the wingspan is 84" and fuselage is 81" in length. I had ordered 4 rolls of orange, 3 rolls of white, 2 rolls black, 4 rolls silver. I still have 1 roll of white left unused.
Another brilliant covering video . We'll done and thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching
Brilliant video. Thanks for sharing. Im going to make my first attempt at covering a plane and this video of yours will help me immensely. Im flying 38 years and ive never covered a plane before. Last night i decided to take off the covering of my 14 year old World Models Super Frontier Senior, its a copy of a Sig Kadet Senior. Its a very relaxing plane to fly and i power mine with a Saito 72 fourstroke. The covering was falling off, Toughlon it is called. So im hoping to recover it with Oracover. I would have preferred Monocote but it is now very difficult to get as Top flite has stopped making it and i live in Ireland. Many thanks again for your help. You have explained everything really well. If i make half as good a job as you then i will be happy. Kind regards.
Thank you very much. Also I have more covering videos here in my channel.

Is the plane kit a one peice wing design ?Thanks
Yes, it is. One piece and also can be built as a clipped wing version.
Hello man. Nice flight and landing. Is this the ARF, or the kit?? I love the color scheme.
This is the kit and I covered it with Top Flite Monokote
@@BayonasRCWorld @ I still have a kit to build. Could you let me know what engine you used? I also have an ARF version with an O.S. Alpha 110-P.

Hi, do you have the template of the fuse side and fuse doubler. I have the plan and I try to draw the side fuse and fuse doubler. Merci.
No, sorry I just have the plans as well
First thing you want to do is ditch those servos with savox that is what i use the traxxas ones always gave out after break in
I never had a Traxxas servo go out on me. 10 years later and still using original traxxas servos that came with all my vehicles.
Many thanks for the content, you’ve inspired me me to order a reproduction kit for the P-40 from Planes Revived in the U.K. I just hope I can build it it to half the standard you built yours. Thanks again
So awesome! Yes Tim Pearce is doing an awesome job reproducing the Top Flite model kits and adding alot of additional options like JP warbirds resin scale details and or fiberglass upgrades to mention a few. I am glad that my video could inspire others to take on a build and get them excited. Thank you for watching my videos I truly appreciate you.
Did you achieve c o g with this battery ?
With this battery i had no CG issues whatsoever. The heli flew flawlessly throughout the flight envelope.
I got this battery but when I pick heli up with head vertical and heli horizontal.its very nose heavy.
@@chris-ip4pk the heli will respond properly and no adverse effects will be noted during the flight envelope. The pack is withing the recommended battery specs for this model. If you watch my video the heli performs awesome
A pin wheel will do the same job as a woodpecker, and they are easy to buy from most places or online, in any case great job. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I have one of these trucks, i have had it for many years. Do you know anyway of making the exhaust quieter? I have tried stuffing the exhaust with stainless steal wool but it doesn't make much of a difference
I would not restrict the exhaust flow otherwise you could cause engine issues. As far as making a Nitro quieter ummmmm using the stock muffler is actually pretty quiet compared to after market mufflers that are a tad bit louder. Nitro is associated with that engine sound and to be honest I never looked into trying to make it quieter. If I wanted quiet I would breakout my electric models. Some neighbors don't like the sound so I just go find a large field away from houses to run my Nitro vehicles. Other than that the stock muffler is the quietest IMO.
Haha found the prop size
Omg, exactly the motor i have planned for mine. Scared about weight and ground clearnance. What prop did you use and what issues did you have for cg?
No issues on CG at all. I used a APC 16x8 prop and had to use throttle curves to tame it down some and match the power application based on throttle stick position.
I used a APC 16x8 prop. I had no CG issues whatsoever. I had to use throttle curves in the transmitter to tame down the power band. Overall excellent engine for the Great Planes Super Skybolt or if a 4stroke is your preference a Saito FG21 4 stroke gas 20:1 spinning a 16x8 prop works great as well plus has that 4 stroke sound.
@BayonasRCWorld Thanks! Trying to stay away from glow. It's getting really hard and really expensive to find nitro. Plus the cleanup and after care. No issues with 16 inch prop and ground clearance?
@@jmbauer68 yup reason why I went gas as well. Here on Guam Nitro is really hard to get. The hobby store that is a Morgan fuel distributor has closed its doors. So really hard to get nitro fuel here on Island so I went gas or electric. Yet getting Lipos is just as bad.
Just watching you to brush up on my covering skills and then you said Guam, I spent three yrs. Up on NAS in the mid 80s..Loved it.
Awesome!
I have that helicopter. Its a 3d beast and takes crashes well. I got rid of stability mode. It feels really strange for advanced pilot's. Even just in a hover
how do you get rid of stability mode? I am using a Futaba 14sg transmitter. I could not get idle one and 2 to work with the T8 Transmitter that came with the RTF model. But yeah in normal mode it feels as if it is locked and kinda flies like a drone. I prefer no stability mode stuff as well
I figured it out! Oh yeah
@BayonasRCWorld Sorry I didn't see this sooner to help you. I'm using a Radiomaster 16s Max. I changed the value on channel 5 normal mode switch position to a positive value instead of negative. How are you liking the helicopter. AWESOME eh?
@@alwaysflying6540 I did the same with my gear channel and then I was able to switch from normal to stability mode. However I decided after I read it to just deactivate stability mode directly from the FBL controller on the heli. I have not tested it out yet. Should give it a go later on today.
@BayonasRCWorld I didn't even know this could be done. I will check it out too:) Did you make this change using the Bluetooth?

I know this is a old video but can you paint on monocoat?
Yes you can. You just have to prep the surface, sand to remove any glossy shine, clean and then primer/paint amd seal with a top coat.
@@BayonasRCWorld thank you..
Hi my friend,finish the P-51 please.😃
so sorry for your loss. wondering, is there a final video out there yet
I’m trying to figure out the correct dimensions of the ribs for the centre section… ideally I’d like a template of the actual ribs but I’m not sure this is possible as you would have pressed them out and used them. I want an actual template of the ribs so I can get the wing joining pieces correct. I bought this kit second hand and unfortunately the centre wing section and the engine cowling were missing.. this was an artf kit but it looks the same as yours even though you built from scratch. So I have two complete wings, fully covered but no centre joining section. Trying to figure out how to make my own. I know you can buy a whole wing kit but that’ll cost me four times what I paid for the kit.. unfortunately they do not sell the centre section by itself.
Just found your channel, insta subbed! I am waiting for my laser and cant wait to bring my digital designs to life. P.S. dude you are literally huge lol
Awesome! Thanks a bunch and for the comment hehehehe. I truly appreciate you
Got another question for you. Are the wings one piece or 2? I don’t see any instructions to join the wings at any point but is it structurally sound enough with a 2 piece wing?
Yes it is a 2 piece wing.
