  • In this video you will see my Trex 700XN go in! During this flight which you will see in the video my tail case flew off the heli causing the heli to Pirouette out of control. During this time I stumbled to hit the throttle hold causing precious time wasted for a safe recovery. Nonetheless the heli crashed into thick grass minimizing the total damage to just a landing skid, a few ball links, besides the tailboom which ripped right at the hole where the tail case attaches over. Well sit back relax and watch what happened all caught on video.

    Sorry for your loss, Bayona... Never had that happen to me either, thankfully. Hope you get it back in the air soon and do some wicked flying.

    Just found your channel and great content! I have that same 700 but in electric. I’d bet a stress crack developed in the tube where where the alignment pin hole was drilled. I’m going to check mine to see. Aluminum will crack in no time if the hole is not properly deburred and inspected for small fractures from drilling. I’ve never seen this happen either. My first heli was a Concept 30 back in 1985ish. I’ve worked aluminum sheet metal on aircraft for years. It never occurred to me to use the same standards on my models but when you think about it, most parts are machined but that boom is just aluminum tubing, short of the skids I think it’s the only aluminum tubing.

    😢…but every crash is a new beginning 😉 since my last crash this summer, my Logo 480 became a Logo 480 stretched (now with a 550 tail)👍…flies even better. Cheers from Munich 🍺, Sven

    This happened to me twice, on a smaller torque tube driven heli. Not sure if it was due to vibration or what, but after the second time snapping a tailboom I scrapped the heli and never got another torque tube driven heli, lol. Belt life is for me!

    it broke at the strongest part of boom,very ends. the tube is very strong UNTIL it is compressed.i think it may of been compressed to much by tail case clamping? missing your build vids by the way

      Oh yeah! Just boom, torque tube, main blades, two rod ends, feathering shaft, main mast and landing gear. Not bad actually!

      @@BayonasRCWorld not bad at all. 👍

    let me guess, a tail rotor hub that has a hole 6mm off center?
    I discovered the entire series that has an off-center hole in it causes a lot of vibration in the tail rotor which then leads to material fatigue...

      Not so sure just yet! I have not really looked into it. Just parked it all to the side while I order new parts

    Hello, I have an align 650x, 12s. Having trouble with Tail gain. Should I start the gain to the letter (g) on Micro beast plus, which is equal to about 50. Or better yet , what gain do you use for idle normal mode, idle up 1, and 2

    • @BayonasRCWorld
      @BayonasRCWorld  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tail gain is at 50% normal mode, 48% Idle up 1 and 47% Idle up 2.

    Not too much damage considering what happened !

      Yup very true. Mainly because of the tall and thick grass at the field.
