  • In this video I take you on the continuation of the Great Planes Dynaflite Series Super Decathlon 89" wingspan covering job. We will concentrate on the wing panels. First I will conduct final sanding work using 220, 320 and 400 grit sandpaper. Next I get into the covering of the wing with Top Flite Monokote white, orange and flat black. I show you how I made my templates for the Stars patterns and the application with the Windex method and plastic spreader. So sit back relax and enjoy the covering of the wing on this beautiful Super Decathlon model. This is beautiful work. I know all the hard work that has went into this model. Great job

      Much appreciated. The build was as easy as a typical trainer build. Nothing on this build was spectacular. Just basic building skills and general covering skills needed. I built up the wooden frame structure ready for covering in under 10 days. It also helps that this was my 2nd Dynaflite Super Decathlon build so things were familiar and I already knew what to expect. Thanks for the kind words and thank you for watching.

      @Bayona's RC World I just started watching your covering videos and my comment was more directed at the hard work that goes into the videos that you produce as well as the builds plus covering. I subscribed because you have a lot of great content. I've been building and flying since the age of 10 and I will be going on 47 next February. I'm going to recommend your channel to others. You deffinatley know what you're doing:)

      Awesome! I started in the hobby back in 1982 when I was 8 years old. Started with building tissue covered rubber powered free flight planes, then slope soaring and gliders and eventually into nitro and gas. Next Feb I will be turning 50 and still loving this hobby of 41 years.

      And I really appreciate you for just even considering to watch my videos let alone subscribing and recommending to other.

      @Bayona's RC World believe it or not I like to watch videos like yours when I'm building. It keeps me company listening and working at the same time. I often pick up on tricks and tips that I don't know about. I'm a nerd I get excited about about that stuff. My passion for flying Is strong. I do mostly aerobatic flying mixed with 3d helicopters and edf jets. But I appreciate all the hobby. I started watching your videos because I wanted to be better at covering. I wish your channel much success:)

    I always though the dynaflite decathlon looked ‘off’, but turns out they were just not in the right builders hands after watching your build. NICE WORK! Looks awesome!

    I use double edge safety razor blades for trimming, I like them because they are so thin cheap and extremely sharp

    Did you iron after windex? Finally tracked this kit down. Currently working on Balsa USA 1/4 Edo floats.

    • @BayonasRCWorld
      @BayonasRCWorld  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes after the windex fully evaporated (I left it till the next day to dry out) I went over the areas with my sealing iron on low heat. If your heat is high you will develope tons of small bubbles.

    at the 21:25 mark, have you tried to use knifeless tape to cut the seam? it's used to make a perfect seam on automotive wraps

    • @BayonasRCWorld
      @BayonasRCWorld  ปีที่แล้ว

      No I have not tried that yet. Sounds promising for sure. Going to have to look into that one day
