  • In this video I take out my 2019 built SIG Citabria powered with a Saito FG14c engine with a Master Airscrew 13x8 Prop. Had some trouble at first with two dead stick landings. After further tuning of the Saito FG14C engine the Citabria was flying well once again besides my many failed attempts of a smooth landing. Anyhow sit back relax and enjoy a eventful flight and landings of the SIG Citabria here on Bayona's RC World. Just having fun!

    This brings back memories. I built one of these when I was just a kid. It was my world back then. My father covered it beautifully like yours. We went back and forth on the Cg and I watched my work spin into the ground one day from a tail heavy not recoverable spin. My father moved it too far aft and ran the tank dry. I knew of a gentleman that owned a full size at the airport near us back then. What a gorgeous piece of aviation history

      I built my 1st SIG Citabria back in 1989 or 1990 I have a photo of it somewhere.

      @Bayona's RC World Nice! I noticed after watching some of your videos we shared alot of the same interests even more so because of our age. It's like reliving my childhood. My father has passed from cancer and my memories are all that I have. My mother sold and got rid of everything and because of this we no longer speak. Picture's and everything gone. I understand that people deal with death in different ways but that's not acceptable. Not to me anyways

      My father passed away in 2007 from pancreatic cancer. He was not into the hobby but was one who supported my love of building and flying.

      @Bayona's RC World I'm sorry to hear that. Ya my father and I spent a great deal of time together. He taught me how to fly and build. He's greatly missed. I'm Off to the workshop and more video's!!!

      Thanks a bunch! Growing the channel would be great but at the end of the day I am doing it just to share my love of the hobby and to share my journey of each build or flight I do. I do it for the passion and 41 years in the hobby. Thank you for the kind words and I really appreciate fellow hobbyist like you.

    I've got my Sig Citabria from 30 years ago. Built and flown in 1993, and it's still going strong today. I did mine in the same scale Bellanca scheme, except in Miami Blue. Powered by a Saito .50, and it's way overpowered with that engine. The Sig kit is one of, if not the most accurate and scale Citabria kit's on the market. I need to pick up another kit for my stash, before Sig closes it's doors, which I hope they never do, but......

    • @BayonasRCWorld
      @BayonasRCWorld  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh SIG is not closing. They are back up after the relocation. Majority of the kits are back online besides a few which is still out of stock to include the Citabria.

      I agree it's a beautiful vintage kit. I remember there was a ton of pieces. I think it was my 3rd kit? I really enjoyed building it and it's finished appearance.

    Its a great plane, and your is awesome I have many sig kits and am wondering how this builds do you have a build thread for this plane...

    • @BayonasRCWorld
      @BayonasRCWorld  ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately during the time I built this kit I was just using my TH-cam platform as a place to share a picture sideshow. Did not get into the whole TH-cam experience during this time. So all I have for this build is a photo slide show and flight videos in the channel

    • @BayonasRCWorld
      @BayonasRCWorld  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If SIG can get this kit back in stock I would purchase another and do a build video on it.

    Looks like you might nes to dial in som expo on that elevator and reduce the pitch on the propeller 😊fo some reason or anther she doesn’t seem to not o bleed off.

    • @BayonasRCWorld
      @BayonasRCWorld  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I got around 40% expo going to experiment with different props to get her dialed in better. Or maybe go down on engine and go with a Saito FG11 which is a 10.88cc where as the FG14c is a 13.8cc

    Your landing approach is too shallow
    with too much speed try a steeper angle use the wind to your advantage nose high attitude
    creates more drag you can compensate speed using your throttle, fly it like a real plane into the wind.
