- In this video I take you on the conclusion of the Great Planes Dynaflite Series Super Decathlon build series ending it with this maiden flight. I start of the video with a quick look at the finished build and then into a quick control throw set up, followed by a quick engine running and smoke test. Then we get into the actual maiden day of the video. As a bonus I added at the end my 2009 Great Planes Dynaflite Series Super Decathlon build and maiden, a 14 year old video footage. So sit back relax and enjoy this maiden flight video of Dynaflite Super Decathlon powered by a DLE30cc gas engine 32:1 oil/gas mix.

Well done! Looks like a keeper. Our local posse member Sam, has flown a smaller OMPHobby Super Decathlon revealing the same elegant manners. Jim
Nice
Top notch build came out fantastic. Thank you for sharing your craft.
Thank you for watching my video.
I like the color scheme. Very nice !
Thank you
Gorgeous plane!!!
Haven’t had a chance to watch the build videos but I will soon.
Thank you very much
That's a nice-looking aircraft
Congratulations!
Much appreciated 🙏
Beautiful covering job, love the scheme as it's a classic. Your model is wayyyy... overpowered!! No highspeed fullpower dives with a super hard pull at the bottom, as you might pull a wing offf of it.
Yeah exactly! However powered with just a DLE30 compared to many whom say it is under powered and telling me to install a DLE55. I think a DLE30 is more than enough power for this plane. If trying to fly it scale then one could even go with a 28cc or 26cc gas engine.
I put a pte 36 on mine. No issues. Great flying plane. Horizon needs to run kits.
On my birthday, no less! Sweet!
Awesome
Nice job overall Mike!
Thank you very much.
You really did a wonderful job! So nice
Thank you very much
Good stuff congrats on first flight...
Thanks a bunch
As always, an exceptional build produces an exceptional maiden! Beautiful build! the original is outstanding as well.
Much appreciated
I was able to find one of these kits! I'll definitely be watching your build videos a few more times lol
So awesome! Have any questions don't hesitate to message me.
@@BayonasRCWorld Actually I do have a question. How did you get the dimensions for the door? Or did you do it freehand? And what tool did you use to cut it out? Sory that was 3 questions haha
For the door I just referenced some online photos of the real Decathlon and made close measurements and went from there. I cut my door out slowly with a new 11 blade and a metal ruler and went around the drawn outline that I did until I had cut through. I did mot use a dremel wheel only because it will remove more material and I did not want to chance anything since I only have one shot to make the cut right.
@@Renniks74I can get my measurements off my door and fuselage and provide you with it here. Give me about an hour and when I get in my shop I will get those measurements for ya
Checkout my Bayona's RC World Facebook group for more photos and info regarding the door measurements. Here is my link to the group.

Thanks brother
Looks like a real fun airplane 👍👍…outstanding finish on this plane 👏cheers from Munich 🍺
Much thanks
Awesome!
Thank you so much
Awesome . Wished you had shown installation of the engine. I am not sure which built series you shows that. Thanks
Unfortunately I did not show the installation of the DLE30. I however got photos of the DLE55RA that I installed later on and also videos of the flights. The photos are found on Bayona's RC World Facebook group here is the link. facebook.com/groups/1102320606822541/?ref=share
The flights videos are found on the youtube channel
@@BayonasRCWorld thanks a lot 👌
Got another question for you. Are the wings one piece or 2? I don’t see any instructions to join the wings at any point but is it structurally sound enough with a 2 piece wing?
Yes it is a 2 piece wing.
I'm still so very irritated that horizon abandoned all the great planes and dynaflite stuff.
Yeah it sucks!
