  • in this video I take you on another build journey of a awesome kit the Great Planes Dynaflite Super Decathlon 89" Wingspan. This kit will be powered by a DLE35RA which will also include a Sullivan Skywriter smoke pump for added realism. I start on building the vertical fin then rudder followed by the horizontal stabilizer and end with the elevators. So sit back relax and enjoy the build. Also this is my 2nd Dynaflite Super Decathlon build! My first one was 13 years ago. Don't forget to click the Like button and consider Subscribing to the channel.

    love the Skylane in the background

      I have always loved the skylane since childhood. It is just something about a Cessna 172, 182 or even a 150 that really attracts me to it. And of course a Cessna 310Q

    New subscriber from California love your channel. I had a Dynaflite 80” version from the 80’s powered by a Saito 91. I like the bigger version. Lots of videos to catch up on!

      I was in the middle of editing the wing portion of the build for the channel and then my videos were accidentally deleted from my computer and from the recycle bin. So unfortunately I am not able to post a complete wing build portion of this model. The next video will be the fuselage which you will see the built up wing. All I have are photos and a few short time-lapse clips of the wing build.

    Great vid ...I have built one of these good flyers...Had a saito 125 for power. Could have used a bit more power but still flew nice...Took a bit of weight in nose if i remember right with the Short nose long tail...

    Yeah, the wax paper isn’t perfect…clear foil is better, but your clean wrap seems just perfect 👍…very nice plane, never heard anybody complaining about Decathlons 😎…Cheers from snowy Munich🍺, Sven

    I hope your mother is better. And you are a great builder and filmmaker. So thank you for sharing your skills. What would you recommend as a beginner build . I have built some balsa boats . But I will love to build a plane , from a balsa kit. Something that looks good , and i can build and learn to fly. And cover . Thanks for your super work. Martin from Norway

      Unfortunately my mother had passed away on 24th of December 2022. I laid her to rest on Jan 16th, 2023 and since been working on the house and packing things away. Reason for my current absents from builds and TH-cam. Once things get back to somewhat normal I will be back in full build. A great kit to build would be a SIG Cadet balsa trainer. The fact that SIG is still in business it will be easier to purchase than let's say Great Planes, Carl Goldberg, Top Flite etc.

      I’m sorry to hear about your mother, and take care of yourself and your family. And the hardest thing a human can do is to pack away all memories. So thankful for your answers and, take the time to heal a little bit. And you have loyal followers. So don’t stress. Martin from Norway

    I didn't know about cling-wrap...used wax paper for a long time. Tried Parchment Paper for cooking and seems to work well.

    • @BayonasRCWorld
      @BayonasRCWorld  ปีที่แล้ว

      I have been using wax paper since the 80 and within the last 10 years I have used Cling wrap and I never have to worry about wax stuck to my structure ever again. Cling wrap never sticks to my built structure ever! I have many videos showing me pulling off the structure off cling wrap without any issues.

      Unfortunately during that time my Mom became ill and so I was back and forth to the hospital. I ended up having to care for my mom until she had passed away on Dec 24, 2022. I had just laid her to rest on Jan 16th, 2023 and have been slowly getting back to reality and other important things to settle. I have been slowly getting back to the shop and eventually will get back to these builds.

    When will you be finishing the P-51 build?

    • @BayonasRCWorld

      The mustang and the DC3 have been placed on hold. First the Mustang was placed on hold do to the Retracts from Robart. Robart was so back ordered that one would be placed on a waiting list so In the meantime I decided to start on the DC3 and that was doing just fine until my Mom got sick and was in and out of the hospital. I had no time to continue the build because I have to care for my Mother 24/7. The past 15 days my Mom became hospitalized again and to keep my mind occupied with the time I have when I am not at the hospital I decided to build the Decathlon since it is a very easy build and that I could frame it up in under 10 days. My Mom's health is a battle at the moment and it is my main focus.
