    I hate that these companiws say they are keto friendly but have stevia (which has maltodexrin) in their list of ingredients.

    I use maltodextrin in my sports drink and it's awesome as an exogenous carb source and doesn't make the drink too sickly sweet tasting. The sports drink application is especially good for long duration rides 2+hrs but Im also putting out higher output than people just cruising the boulevard so the glucose from the maltodextrin is being consumed by my muscles directly and not heading for fat storage. That said I dont use it when not exercising as its basically rocket fuel for the body and it has its time and place and definitely shouldn't be consumed by sedentary people as it will just spike your insulin and then likely add to your fat stores. Im not sure how damaging maltodextrin is to the gut biome as our body naturally produces maltodextrins when we break down starches anyway 🤷‍♂️

    Maltodextrin is a glucose polymer and as such does have nutritional value as an energy source. Used in the correct way it is not harmful at all.

      Hi Ana, here is the recipe: Ingredients: 6 large eggs separated at room temperature ¾ cup keto friendly sweetener in powdered form 1 cup almond flour 1/2 tsp baking powder ¼ teaspoon cream of tartar Pinch of salt 13 x 9-inch pan or 2 x 9” round pans (if you make a layer cake) Directions: Preheat Oven to 350˚F. Line bottoms 13 x 9-inch pan or 2 x 9” round pans with parchment paper (do not grease the sides). Place egg whites and the cream of tartar in a stand mixer or use a hand mixer and start mixing on low speed until the whites turn opaque. Then start adding the powdered keto sweetener in small increments and gradually increase the speed of the mixer until the whites have formed soft peaks. Set aside. In a separate bowl beat 6 yolks for about 1 minute on high speed. Whisk together flour and the baking powder and then add into egg yolk. Fold with a spatula just until incorporated. In small batches fold the egg whites carefully into the yolk and flour mixture. Put the mixture into the baking pan and bake at 350˚F for 25 minutes or until top is golden brown.

      Hi Ann, I’ve never tried to use the recipe for a Bundt cake, but I don’t think this will work out because this is a soft cake batter and may tear while removing from the pan. I am not sure, this is my thought 😃

      You’re welcome! It should take from couple of days to a week. Try to keep carbs as minimum as possible around 20g per day and your body will switch faster to get energy from fat 👍

    I buy whey protein powder that maltodextrin has an Aldie. Also I bought artificial sweetener that maltodextrin and I been putting two tablespoons in my coffee every morning. What do I do?

    I am planning to buy a carb powder but almost all the brands says "Meltadextorin" as ingredients... My question is can i take it 1 scoop per day as my post workout shake.. Becoz of my bzz schedule iam not able to fullfill my recommended Carb intake.... Thank you

      Hi Garry, I really don’t like maltodextrin, it can cause cravings and it’s not good for you. You can try Isopure brand. It is available online and they have many flavors 😃

    I have used tons of it with stevia products I do not gain weight on it But l do on sugar so ?? It has no calories

      Thank you Jack for your comment and I am glad you did not gain weight but maltodextrin has very bad impact on our health if it’s consumed in large amounts. Maltodextrin is a highly processed type of carbohydrate and it has a high glycemic index which can spike blood sugar level. It is also harmful for our gut bacteria causing intestinal disorders.

    Never trusted corn/wheat related products after willingly doing the ketogenic diet. It should be a crime putting this in food considering the long term effects of high blood sugar. Amazing video!

      Hi Fitza, yes you can add the coco powder and it should taste really good 😃 just remember to add the coco to the dry ingredients and then combine with wet ingredients 😃

    I would like to try this recipe for a friend on keto lifestyle. Why the egg white protein? Can I substitute for something I already have in my pantry like coconut flour or almond flour? This video was very helpful about chocolate being crunchy and cracking when cutting int as my bars always crack when cutting 😞...thank you! 🙂

      Thank you Melissa for your comment😃 I love sharing with people my experience with cooking and baking because it can help avoid some mistakes that I already made. These bars are protein bars and that’s why I used the egg whites powder not only for the higher protein content but also for the texture. You can also use the whey protein. I’ve never tried making bars with coconut flour or almond flour because I guess the texture will be not like a bar but more like a cake. If you like to use those flours try with almond flour not with coconut flour because coconut flour absorbs a lot of water.       Thank you Tania for your comment. After turning off the oven you can leave the cake there for about 10 minutes to avoid cake “falling”. I hope this helps 😃
