Hey Kevin I live at 5200 ft. If I decide to get a Springer should I go with the HW 50 or even higher to the HW 95? I've been mulling around for quite a while since I retired, about getting a air rifle. Maybe I should just get a PCP. I know there's extra costs with the PCP. I've grown up shooting powder fired rifles, some fifty eight years ago. If you have time let me me know your thoughts. Thanks
First, you do a terrific job presenting product, thank you. I wrote you before that in part because of your videos I purchased an HW30s and HW50 wood and SS. 2 days ago I purchased HW95N Field Pro which I won't receive for another 5 days. So I came here to watch your 95 video. I trust you! A few comments; I appreciate it that most every time you deliver a video about a specific gun that its the stock version first. Just like this video, then do the tune video. I believe 1 in 10 springer buyers don't have the tools, money and capability to perform a tune. When I bought my first two guns less than 3 months ago, the supplier did everything in their power to discourage me from installing a tune kit to the 50. They diplomatically told me no way I should do it my self (they don't know I'm a mechanical klutz) and that having them do it was cost prohibitive. It was clear they really don't want to install tuning kits, but they will when its well worth their $$$ time. To spend a 3rd to 2/3s of the price of the gun to add a tune kit makes me go, hmmm. Secondly, I've sold 4 PCPs in the last 3 months to finance my springer habit and one of the primary buyer requirements was; they were stock or could easily and quickly be returned to stock configuration. I could argue customization works against the resale price unless the installer is a well known commodity. All that said, I have no doubt the performance would improve. And it would reduce the "honk like a goose" noise level, but; if I'm going to get it done where do I go? I live in southern Calif. with 20 million neighbors within 90 minutes drive time and I can't find someone to deliver a W tune. I would pay the price for the 95 to get the noise level down, but where?
Cometa is very old Spanish brand (founded in 1860s or so). They are proud to make all their air rifles in Spain. Cometa is especially proud of the air rifle barrels. They try to make everything in their country, unlike other "made in PRC" brands. Cometa 220 and it's bigger brother 400 are brilliant. On the other hand, Cometa 300, or recent batch of them are a bit iffy. Bad spring quality, they tend to break.
Great products at a very attractive price.
This is a brilliant video, my thx from Norfolk, uk. Smash the 'like' everyone.
Thank you, my friend.
I forgot to add i think mine is a springer, ?
Either way, great gun!
July-3-24 I got my 400 USC in .177 caliber, This is my 3rd Cometa i bought from Keystone Airguns in Pennsylvania, much to my surprise it had the metal trigger on it, (gold colored) i thought it had a plastic trigger, but am happy it had the metal trigger...I use H&N field target trophy pellets in it, 8.64 grains., I put a 3x12x44 Accushot Swat compact scope with 30 mm tube on it with high rings, and put the first target at 15 yards, much to my surprise again, this trigger was better than my other 2 cometas, ...i got to shooting and realized WOW! Why is this gun so accurate this fast?...So, being satisfied with the first target, i set it out further, after shooting , and adjusting the scope at this distance, i was thinking the same thing again..so, i set the last final target up at 27 yards and made a few scope adjustments as i shot....The more dots i shot convinced me that Maybe John through in a free tune.? I couldn't stop shooting because i was having a ball....Im still wondering here...
Awesome! So glad to hear that you're pleased with the rifle.
Would you know if my model 36 RWS Dianas are the same in regards to the receiver and would take the same seals? I love them both, one has iron sights and the other is Barska 3 x 12 scoped. The ARH site doesn't show the seals for a model 36.
Best to measure your old seal and then consult with Jim at ARH.
The UK spring powered version has no twang but instead a satisfying ping noise when fired at least my .177 one does so i am not going to interfere with it .
Nope. Don't mess with if it's performing to your satisfaction.
Beautiful stock. Sleek looking modern design. Compact shooting gun. ScottPa.
It really is an ideal squirrel rifle for the type of woods that I'm used to. The weight is what drives it home for me. I'm a firm believer that lighter is better when it comes to a "field gun." Thanks for watching, Scott.
Always wondered anout these rifles. Good looking stock, with a lack of slot gor the cocking arm. Good shooting, as well Kevin. Thats grey squirrel accuracy! ScottinPa.
Wonderful gun. Very solid design.
Thank you, Kev.
Thanks for watching.
KEVIN: With an older springer such as this Erma, how often to you open it up for cleaning and lubrication? Thanks, Orvil Hazelton
Hi, Orville. I have no plans to open the rifle up. To be truthful, it won't see much use. I bought this as a collectible. Thanks for watching, myfriend. .
Thanks, and yes, I'll be watching. Orvil Hazelton
KEVIN: First of all let me send you my greetings from the High Desert of Aguanga, California. Also, I thoroughly enjoy each of your yutube videos. Thank you. Now for my response as to which airgun I'd keep above all others: my TX200 MKIII, .22 cal, in walnut. Of course my HW97K, .22 cal, in walnut comes in a close 2nd. Although a fine trigger is of importance to me, I tend to call myself an underlever, springer kind of guy. I love springers where there is absolutely no chance of the barrel shifting on me. I think of you kindly as I ring my ship's bell out at 50 yds. Good day, friend. Orv Hazelton.
That's a great choice, and your reasoning is hard to dispute. Thanks for watching, my friend.
Thanks for showing your range. Delightful setting. You are very fortunate. A real gentleman.
Thanks very much, my friend.
The same gun WAS the Webley Ranger, just re-badged.
Yes. That's correct. Thanks for watching, my friend.
Really cool old rifle Kevin...yet another I never knew existed 👍 😁 🍻 I doubt it, but I wonder if the late Louis Imperato (founder of Henry Repeating Arms & father of their current CEO) had anything to do with its design? I pose that question because, as I understand it, Louis Imperato designed the lever and pump action rimfire rifles for Erma that were imported by Erma themselves, as well as Ithaca, Iver Johnson, and possibly others. This air rifle is a spitting image of their basic .22 lever action repeating rifle from everything you have shown 👍 If you've ever seen a standard Henry H001 levergun or one of their first generation pumps, they look identical to their Erma counterparts; the guns are, for all intents and purposes, the same thing. I can't say which is built better, Henry or Erma, but I remember handling an Erma .22 lever some years ago, and it looked & felt exactly like my first Henry H001 😅🤔😁🍻 Thanks as always for the informative & enjoyable content my friend 🙂👍🍻
Lots of great info, Nate. Thank you. I'm certain that you're on to something.
Very interesting.. im sure 2 of those shots were dieseling. Beeman knew Americans wanted more power, this gun might have motivated him.
Thanks for watching, Frank.

Question for you mate , what chronograph are you using ?

@razor1962 thanks mate
What a great rifle 😊
Thanks very much.
I picked up a gamo whisper wildcat the other day. It ate the scope that was part of the package it was offered in within 30 pelllets sent to the target. 😂 If you see this post and feel like it, could you post a few ideas on which scopes can handle these nitro piston 22 models ? Have a nice day -cam-
Reach out to my friend Jon at keystoneairguns.com He offers the UTG 3-9X Hunter scope, which is very affordable, reliable, and ideal for your rifle. Thanks for watching, my friend
I was doing some testing last we , and I am afraid it got the best on me on the day. Intermittent high wind , nice video Cheers
Gotta pick your days, my friend. Wind will make zeroing an air rifle very frustrating.
@razor1962 You are quiet , the day started off quite sun , then a few hours in the branches on the trees 🌳 were dancing all over the place , just could not get a nice covered spot to place my targets out , the weather beats us all at times . Good shooting .
Kevin. I increased the height of the stock comb on several 30’s and 50 for better scope alignment. Much more comfortable
Interesting. I can see how that might be helpful. Thanks for watching, my friend.
ERMA build the same gun in 22.l.r. and 22.Magnum .
Yes. Erma are known for their lever action firearms. Thanks for watching.
My hw80 is in .22 and it prefers a slightly heavier pellet but more importantly a longer body pellet . Great comparison video, not too many different types to get your head around 😊
Thanks very much, and thanks for watching, my friend.
@razor1962 no , thank you for taking your time to post 😊
Nice find Kevin. Thanks for video
Thanks for watching, my friend.
Thanks for sharing, very unique airgun!
Thanks, John. My pleasure, sir.
I would be interested to know what ELG means. I mean "single-shot rifle" but that's just a guess. The fact that it had to compete with the Daisy Raider is pretty tough.
I would guess it means Erna Lever Gun, makes sense.😊
@@ErickvdK A German advertisement says Lever-Action-Einzellader. 🤷♂
Sorry, my friend, but I'm afraid that I don't know the answer to that one.
@@razor1962 Hello, how are you....I found out, it's simply called Erma Luftgewehr.
He Kevin, becarful mith this gun !!!!dont schooting in nibs his aers noth!!!! off hy mus ziktting on aswimmgband

Thanks, Koenraad. I think that Nibs would ve thrilled to find one of these. Thanks as always, my friend.
Dear Kevin What a great little rifle...and a very novel mechanism... I've never seen the Webley version here in the UK...but it's on my radar now! Regards
Thanks, Tony. I hope that you find one.
Hi Kevin, there is an early 1980's Airgun World magazine that covered this rifle in their monthly gun test piece and its branded as the 'Webley Ranger'. The one rifle I'd love for you to cover is the 'Beeman C1 carbine, now that was a 'Webley' made gun that is quite collectable now. Great video by the way. Thankyou.
Yes, I was offered by Webley as the Ranger. I just picked up a C1 Carbine. Watch for a video in the not too distant future. Thanks for watching, my friend.
Hi Kevin! I remember the Erma from my childhood and wish i had a pearl like that today. Maybe you should give it a bit of maintenance before it stops working..... To find parts will be very difficult or even impossible. Congratulations my friend 👌
Hi Ron. I think that I'll leave this one alone unless it does stop working. I'd prefer to leave it " un-touched" if I can. Thanks as always, my friend.
Sometimes it's about the look and not so much the performance. The fact that it was reasonably accurate is a plus. Great review
Thanks as always, my friend.
I have the ERMA .22LR lever action which is great fun.....Henry lever guns are based on the ERMA & they bought all of ERMA's tooling when ERMA closed.
Yes, Erma are rather well known for their lever action firearms. Thanks for watching.
Wow kevin, perfect plinking Air Rifle, nice video as always my American Air Gun Friend. Enjoy your new purchase, hopefully see you in a fortnight with a new video, take care kevin
Thanks, Stephen. Always a pleasure, my friend.
Now you a real cowboy. Just need few Indians 😂
CURIOSO RIFLE,NO LO HABIA VISTO NUNCA. SALUDOS.👍🏼🤝
Thanks for watching, my friend.
hola kevin, bonito rifle y muy buen video.
Thank you, my friend.
Another great video. Just curious. How can a rifle diesel if you do not tinker with the pellet? Not that I am going to try it.
There's always the chance that a little lubricant is present in the compression chamber. It's possible that the gentleman who I purchased it from added some oil.
Those Germans sure know how to manufacture quality air rifles
Agreed, my friend.
Nice one Kevin!
Thanks, Nibs! Baldwinsville Show at the end of this month. July 26th and 27th. See you there?
I have every intention on being there. will be great to shake your hand!
