    This was my same model gun in 1988, purchased with mowing money from Bassmaster Magazine! I spent a lot of time out in fields plinking with this rifle. I was an idiot and sold it for money when I was still a dumb kid.

    You are absolutely correct Kevin. Power doesn’t equate to accuracy, when it comes to springers. In the UK, we have to shoot sub 12lb ft anyway, unless we have a firearms certificate. I believe it’s even less in Germany. I have two springers and a PCP rifle. On a really good day, I can shoot the springers accurately to 40/50yrds and easily get half inch groups at 35yds. It is a great feeling, shooting a really good classic Springer and hitting what you’re aiming at. Cheers Kevin, I love your videos. 😊

      Thanks Steve. 12 ft/lbs is plenty for typical airgun ranges. In the states, we sometimes get hung up on power, forgetting the niche that airguns fill. Just look at the race for power in the PCP world. They've reached firearm like energies. It won't be long before airguns are regulated here as well. Thanks as always, my friend.

    Thanks for showing this wonderful Diana Kevin. A half inch group on 30 yards is not bad at all. To much power will always cost accuracy, I still have the strongest spring i could find in one of my HW97's and this rifle is very difficult to shoot. I can shoot half inch groups with heavy pellets but i have to work very hard to ge there. My other 97 has the Vortek 16 fot pound kit and that rifle shoots like a dream. Those Chinese Air rifles are hit or miss. Consistent quality seems to be an issue. What I've seen as well as heard from others is that it all comes down to the barrel. You either get a good one or you don't. Unfortunately, it sounds like you may have gotten a bad barrel. Try cleaning it if you haven't already. Sometimes, that's all that's needed. @@joedokes8641You can obviously Tune a Magnum or Super Magnum air rifle, but you can only take it so far "Internally". 🤷🏼‍♂️ After that you have to add weight to account for barrel hop and recoil, considered Extremely Rugged and often Expensive Optics, consider Recoilless, and Dampening Scope Mounts, and even barrel weights and tuners to augment the nodes in the barrel harmonics.

      I find that resting the rifle on a hard surface will almost always produce poor results. A soft bag or an artillery hold will yield much better accuracy.
      I've recently been experimenting with using my shooting bag upside down. It's much more slick because, unlike the top, the bottom isn't leather but rather canvas. The gun can move more freely and so in theory, it may prove beneficial to accuracy. We'll see.

    Hi. In my Diana model 27 t06 , the automatic safety is not engaging fully. I have to manually pull it back. What could be the problem or how do I repair that. The safety is same as in the model 34

    • @razor1962
      @razor1962  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmmm,....That system is pretty basic. The piston rod is what pushes against the safety bar, causing it to move rearward into the safe position. The only thing that I can think of is that the plastic safety bar is either broken or mangled. You do need to cock the rifle completely ( as far as it will go) for the safety to engage. If you tear it down and examine the safety lever, it may provide a clue as to what's causing the problem.
      I have not run into this issue myself, so I'm only able to speculate.

      Which trigger do you have? The 34 was offered in at least 3 different trigger systems during its production. The early ones used the TO1 trigger. Around the year 2000, they switched to the TO5 and TO6 roughly 15 years later.
      I you can ID your trigger I'll see what I can do.

      The cocking shoe on the 34 is a section of the cocking arm that is formed into a cocking shoe. The underside of the "shoe" tends to rub lightly against the compressed spring coils when the barrel is returned to the closed position. The "shoe" can be carefully machined to eliminate this tendency-that said, it causes no issues in rifle performance.

    • @marcmyers1465
      @marcmyers1465 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thelvadam8916I sleeve the piston with Delrin or Polypropylene, shape and polish the shoe and button the wings by splitting an ARH Old School button. Then put a smidge of ARH moly to grease the trough for a wet running edge.
      Smooth as Silk, and the sleeve tightens the spring tolerance, dampens the springe buzz, and naturally it keeps any Spring tar from migrating forward. Learned that from the old AirSporters. 😉

      @@razor1962 your right ,now days you want power go to a pcp . i got the most powerfull springers ,they are very sensive for the hold ,because the heavy piston start and bounce of that . and cocking effort needed. ,and only plus minus 45 joules max hatsan 135 .30 and 155 177 35 joule , thats nothing compared what a pcp can ,so springers are better with 12 ftp, and backyard target and plinking
