I have a smaller collection than yours but I have several air rifles. The HW50 is my favorite because it's very, very accurate, small, light and powerful enough, the rifle with the best stroke of all the Weihrauch. But my 50 is 7 years old, the new 50 pipes with the painted logo, are very weird with the pellets. Very, very beautiful your new rifles.

    • @razor1962
      @razor1962  ปีที่แล้ว +2

It doesn't matter what you're shooting. All that matters is that it gives you that single-minded zone when you're concentrating on the target and nothing else in the world exists in that moment...That's the magic of the shooting sports. Enjoy your guns. Let 'em think what they want. Stay in the zone...and thanks for watching, my friend.

Hits with authority, Amen to that. The Longbow was one of the models heavily influenced by the lads at Venom Arms, who formed the Webley Venom Custom Shop in the late 1990's. The improvement to the triggers was one of the first priorities they made to the designs.

Love starting my morning with your calming videos. Great new toys you got there! Must feel really good to shoot one of those sighted rifles and nail a far away target. I finally managed to get my hands on a break barrel pistol...couldnt get any of the ones you meantioned but got something simular atleast. I got a diana p5 (the mod 5 looked way better but it's Canada!). And I also just ordered a Beeman p17 (the hw40weirauch would be better). I am just happy I finally got my hands on something! My p5 with iron sights is super accurate because I have no training or practice and I'm able to hit things at decent distance, I feel myself getting better each time I get out there. I really love the workout the break barrel offers, it becomes almost like fishing or something where the movements involved are just very therapeutic. And even more so when you get that ring when you hit something metal. I need a bell like you ! Sounds so great when you nailed that with a stronger shot... Sucks about the rotator cup injury. Nothing is worse than injuries that stop you from doing what you love. Glad you aren't letting it stop you from getting out there ! Keep strong and keep making videos!!!

@@razor1962I said it was either out of Venom Custom Shop or Someone had done a full reproduction. 🤷🏼‍♂️ Jan's one of a Very Few people who could have pulled that off... 😉👍 I should have recognized the checkering, but it's been a very long time since I've seen Jan's work, He does exceptionally nice Finish and Checkering, but he goes all out on the tuning as well. 😃👍

I think the Webley is my favourite, you have hit lucky with the grain, it is walnut isn't it? Sometimes it can be very straight grained and boring but that is beautiful.
The Thoeben, I love the idea of a powerful air rifle, I'm very close to getting my FAC, it's been so far a 20 week process, but there is nowhere locally I could shoot an FAC air rifle. I do agree with the very strict laws we have in the UK but sometimes I envy you guys across the pond.

Hi Ken. The show was relatively small. It was held in a small barn at an American Legion hall in New York. They hold the show there once every summer. There are other airgun shows across the country, but sadly, they're not within a reasonable travel distance from me.
There were several vendors and some very interesting stuff for sale. I'll definitely do it again. Although there was a shooting range out back for testing the guns, there was no competition. From what I understand, there have been competitions there in the past.
      Thanks for watching, my friend.

I have a Longbow. Proper Birmingham model. I put it in an SE thumbhole stock (the Turkish Longbow stock) and it's just gorgeous.
The bluing on mine is the best of all my Webley's, deep shine & lustrous blue, so yours may well be factory blued.
Trigger is the equal to the record in my opinion, only not simple to adjust.
Accurate and a tribute to Venom, who at the time were a part of Webley.

    Hi Kevin,
I definitely think you've come up trumps there. I bet you feel like a dog with two tails, lol.
I hope I'm not insulting your intelligence, I have some information you and your readers may find interesting.
Weihrauch Air Rifles have a gas ram air rifle in their line up, its the HW90. When Weihrauch first launched their HW90, Theoben Air Rifles from Cambridge in England manufactured the gas ram unit for them.
Theoben consisted of two gentlemen, David Theobald and Ben Taylor, Consequently, making Theo Ben.
Ben Taylor was working on his motorcycle Suzuki forks, and that's where the idea for gas ram air rifles came from. The gas ram units work on the same principle as motorcycle forks.
I think it was the year 2004 when Theoben ceased to exist. Theoben made fantastic air rifles, and it was with the help from those two gentlemen, we have what we know as pcp air rifles today, with their buddy bottles and pellet magazines.
The Theoben Rapid pcp air rifle was another fantastic invention and led the way to what we have and enjoy today. They were in 12ftlb format and FAC, too.
Theoben were formed in 1982. They manufactured spring, gas ram, and pcp air rifles, the quality of which was to die for. If I had been older, I'd have owned some of those genius air rifles. As you'll know, Kevin, the blueing, engineering machining tolerances, ideas, workmanship/craftsmanship know how, was off the scale. Just fabulous air rifles.
I think the two gentlemen at the time took on an apprentice, who worked his way up through the business and eventually purchasing it and took it to America where they became RAW, Rapid Air Weapons. I think they are continuing to manufacture the Theoben Rapid in an up to date format.
I remember as a youngster, seeing my dad's Airgun World magazine. Before he came home from work, I had a window of time where I could quickly look at it, then put it back exactly as I found it. I'd have dearly loved one of those gorgeous air rifles, though I knew I didn't have a hope in hell.
I so wish Theoben were around today. What they manufactured was genius and so proud they were British when Britain was Great x.
    Thank you, Kevin.
    Goodbye for now, my friend.

      Hi Kevin,
Hey, thank you. I wasn't sure if you'd know and thought some of your viewers maybe interested too.
Theoben were gorgeous, well-made bank vault type air rifles, whether they were spring piston, gas ram, or pcp.
I've viewed their latest Rapid air rifle which looks fantastic.
People moan about their cost, however, they cost most more to produce. Manufacturers don't give quality away.
      Best wishes, Kevin, Ian.

I never thought about if there were any airgun shows to attend. Yet another thing to research out. Baldwinsville, NY is a bit far off, but maybe there’s a local, to me, show out there I can attend one day. It would be fun to hunt out a find like you have done.
I saw in one of your videos that you buy some rifles second hand and I was wondering how you accomplished that. Great timing on this upload! 👍👍
Thanks to you and a few others I ordered my first “nice” airgun, a Weihrauch HW30S, this past week. Unfortunately the company I got it from doesn’t seem to have it together, so I’ll have to wait another week to get it. Going through your vids is helping me out.
I didn’t think I’d like a stainless steel finish on a Weihrauch, but I think I really do. What a great little pickup. I hope to see it featured soon.
I hope your shoulder makes a quick recovery and it’s not too serious. I’m not sure the bell is going to recover though. That .25 made the bell ring the loudest I’ve heard so far. 😂

Nice group, The Eliminator with it's Shed -you- ah stock [not correct spelling] This timber only used for a short time, Rumor has it that as a rare hardwood it's export was banned. Eliminators to be found in most gun auctions in the UK average value approx £110 pounds, due to the FAC requirement. The rather lovely Longbow you have acquired is very non standard it has all the appearance of a Venom unit. In an auction here value approx £450. As for the 50 well tuned HW 50's are tuned HW 50's always solid bits of kit. In UK expect to pay approx £350 plus commission for a custom model like this. How does this compare with prices you paid???
