The fact is that this was very common in my experience. It doesn’t happen as often as it used to but, it still happens. The snow covers everything and then the temperature changes and you get freezing rain on top of it. It makes everything very slippery and difficult to drive and walk in.

Hey OJB. FYI it's pronounced "Mis-sis-saw-ga". Yes it's right on the border with Toronto. You can take a TTC (Toronto Transit Commission) street car to the end of the line, and transfer right to a bus from Mississauga Transit. They are side by side, but definitely different cities. Oh, by the way, Toronto's airport, Pearson International (YYZ), is located in... Mississauga! Of course it was built there, when Mississauga wasn't anywhere near the city it is today. It's one of the fastest growing cities in this amazing country! Cheers from 🇨🇦.

Waterfront properties. Crashing waves and high winds coat everything. The houses on the other side of the street have far less than those against the water side. Temperature gets down to -40°C (and back up to +30°C in the summer)

So the debt free status of Mississauga sounds like a great big achievement, but by provincial law, municipalities in Ontario are not permitted to run deficits in their budgets and cannot finance projects with debt, (with the exception of the COVID years) so with that in mind, it's not that big of an accomplishment

Years ago my office moved to Mississauga and Hazel came to the opening of the new office. Our CEO, around 62 years old and 6 foot 3 gave a speech which included announcing his retirement. Hazel, all 4 foot 10 of her walked up to him, stuck a bony finger in the general direction of his neck, and said, "you're far too young to retire". Hurricane was a well earned nickname.

Snow usually comes at the leading edge of a low pressure system. Low pressure systems are warmer air and high pressure systems are colder air. When a low pressure system pushes out a high pressure system, the temperature, arriving with the snow, can increase quite a bit compared to before the snow.

When i saw The Big Snit for the first time, the best part about the experience was that i didn't have some arrogantly over-analytical welp constantly stopping the film to give me his immensely pedestrian "breakdown" of what's going on, simply because he doesn't have the attention span to sit still and watch a 10 film without feeling the need to continuously exemplify his utter lack of artistic appreciation and cultural ignorance.

It was at the time. Written by Gordon. He was also a sailor on the Great Lakes in his sail boat, named Silver Heels I believe. His possibly greatest song was The Canadian Railroad Trilogy. It is the song he closed his concerts with. The crowd/fan’s favourite. Saw him many times. Great memories. A true Canadian icon.

Just imagine what if it was from (CANZUK Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom) changed its name to (CANZUKUS Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, United States) but unless if the Letter (A) is added on the end THEN it would &/or will become (CANZUKUSA Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, United States America) as its very new name & that would be a Very Good idea of course.

A million out at Bank and Hunt Club? Huh.... It's a weird area where suburbs give way to agricultural lands. It's odd driving down Hunt club... To the north is the city to the south it's farms with hectares of corn and horses and such. And there's a high concentration of car dealerships in that area too for some reason

If you’ve never been to the Great Lakes before or seen these freighters in person, they’re both MASSIVE. I can’t remember what the Soo Locks can handle size wise in terms of ships but these freighters like the Fitz were 500ft+ long Superior is another level, the line “the lake it is said never gives up her dead” is spot on bc Superior never warms up enough for bodies to float to the surface Every mariner who’s lost his life on Superior is forever entombed & “preserved” in their ship The night the Fitz went down saw weather conditions of: 25-3ft seas, sustained winds of 60mph w gusts upwards of 90. Blizzard/white out Superior is large enough to create its own weather patterns so the water conditions can change in an instant My theory? A rogue or series of rogue waves hit her & took her down OR she created a giant 30/40/50ft wave & “torpedoed” herself beneath the surface They found men in the bridge & pilot house when they located her a year later in 520ft of water. Those men didn’t know what happened until it did & by then it was already too late

Pretty Sure One Of Things We Do In Canada That Is Odd To Non Canadians, Is That We Return Used Beer Cans & Bottles For Cash At The Beer Store. Context:The BeerStore(That Is The Store Chains Actually Name Btw The Other Alcohol Store Here Is The LCBO Not Associated With The BeerStore) If You Have A Lot Of Empties(Used Liquor Bottles Or Beer Cans/Bottles) You Can Bring Them In For Cash Depends On How Many Empties You Have(its 80 Cents For Each Empty You Have) They've Had This Program For A Very Long Time. Don't Know Why Other Countries Don't Have This Program As Well. BTW? Your Empties Must Have No Alcohol In Them & Wash Them Before Bringing Them In
