Classic Canadian cookie: melt 1 cup of chocolate chips and 1 cup of butterscotch chips, add 4 cups of hickory sticks, drop in clusters onto wax paper and let set in the refrigerator. Too good for words.
Caramel is white sugar that's heated until it becomes a liquid, mixed with butter and cream. It usually remains a liquid and is used as a sweet sauce for ice cream, cake, pie. Toffee is butter and brown sugar heated until it's hard and cracks. The toffee in this video isn't heated that high and is more like butterscotch with a year-old gum texture.

If they had the Mackintosh bar it would have been harder to chew. LOL

Cheezies are very hard and crunchy. They are not meant to be light and airy. Mackintosh are hard. The original package was one slab that you were supposed to whack on the table to break into pieces.

15:00 I believe he was taking about texture. Nice way to describe a oversized fist full of hickory sticks in one bite.

Can't say I've heard that one before, but it certainly paints a picture!

The toffees come in multiple flavors, and I could go through half a bag in a sitting.

I may have confused them with Kerr's branded toffees.

Canadian here. Canada has soft puff cheesies, but hard Hawkins is known for their harder texture. I rnjoy both both types.

They are similar to the Chester crunchy ones but better.

Believe it or not, Ollie, we don't only eat maple flavored food. In fact, the only thing maple I've had in the last month is maple syrup on my waffles.

I'll never understand how/why some of these reactors mix sweet and savoury, during taste reactions. Always, start with savoury (with pallet cleaners like a mild beverage between snacks), then move to sweets. So as not to mixup tastes.
Big Turks are basically oversized, firm gummies, coated with chocolate.
Cheezies are supposed to be crunchy 😊 If you find them to be softer, or chewy, then chances are they may be going stale.
Probably from the pressure changes in the airplanes cargo hold, resulting in the bags losing their seal, during transport from Canada to Ireland.
Those Mackintosh's look to be the soft versions😁. The original came as a flat bar, that was much stiffer(and could pull the fillings outa your teeth 😆)
Hickory is a common flavour from various chip(crisp) makers, in North America, not just Canada 😎(and is a common wood used in bbq's and smokers.)

The cheezies are loaded with salt, which I assume must be categorized as a flavouring instead of a preservative.

NOT EVERYTHING IN CANADA IS MAPLE. LOL. The one you thought was possibly Australian if I am not mistaken has traveled and lived in multiple places. (Been watching Try since it started). As for the floral taste the other one was commenting about THRILLS gum from another Canadian video they did. I am not a fan of Cheezies, the Toffee is just plain toffee flavour. They have 4 or 5 videos on CDN food.

"Cheezies" are a hard "dry" snack. If you were not expecting that then... yeah you'd be disappointed.
13:20 Just because she admitted to being from Australia does NOT mean you aren't crazy. I mean you're not wrong but you could still be crazy.
