Yes great outfit for the Day Festival. Sounds like a decent line up, except for the Spanish Double Win Result. Premiere Inn, nice. Fantastic atmosphere. Everyone enjoying themselves. The drinks are always expensive at these events but they go down well. Shame England didn't win but did well to get to the final. You must have needed that sleep. Thank you for sharing. Best wishes Dave and Dawn ❤️

I live in the Wild West, a Saloon in every town. The saloon from my hometown in Colorado, The Old Dillon Inn, became an historical landmark and they built a mall around it. Like here's an old haunted building, better build a shopping mall. Lol

Interesting video, I don't go in to pubs as much as I used to so I'm trying to do more now. I've got one of those books for the dales- I might have to see what's still open😊

We’ve got the same book ‘Pub Walks Along’ but our book is The Peddars Way and the Norfolk Coast Path. We followed the routes in the book way back in 1998/99 and as far as we know the pubs are all still open. We filmed the outside of one of pubs at Thornham in our Norfolk Coast Path walks (day 1) - this one has changed its name from The Kings Head to the Orange Tree… we thought that was a shame. An interesting post this one.

As far as I know only one pub in dereham has shut ( the standard ) are pubs closing due to cost of living crisis ? It's expensive to drink out in pubs now ,I think possibly people tend to drink at home more . Interesting video mate

I agree with your thoughts on our summer weather, but my thoughts are where is it? It really hasn't been the best. I know the wind is another problem when filming but liked the brew with a view. My goodness the Peak 75 challenge is certainly an achievement. Well done Steven. - You're looking good (p.s fancy that gate being padlocked to get through !!)

This looks like a nice chilled coastal town, right up our street, I'll have to check out where in Lincolnshire it is as we're a big old county. Aaah close to Mablethorpe, so not far from us! A lovely walk!

Great film mate, well jealous of your bookcase. Sadly I fear the British pub as we all knew it is almost non existent. A lot now are gastro pubs with similarly high prices. I miss the old spit and sawdust pubs. Good to see a lot in the book are still open, I think it's worse in some areas compared to others.

Very interesting you put some work into that 👍 lots of pubs have gone around us in the potteries there were loads around the factories and potbanks mainly the big eateries now .. but we do know a very nice canal pub that hasn't changed for a hundred years 👌

Pubs are such a great tradition. In the States we just have bars that are just load and with no character. Looking forward to tipping a pint next year when I hope to visit. Cheers!

That was great Steve and a really good idea. Growing up I had 2 local pubs that basically I went to every day as it was part of the social scene of the 80’s and 90’s. Both of them are closed and boarded up and have been for years. There’s a massive housing estate there and not 1 single pub 🤷🏻‍♂️

Hi 😊 glad to see there are quite a few still open. Only a few closed. I haven’t noticed many closed near me but I do find some now offer takeaways to maybe to increase there business.

Very interesting Steve, I was visiting village pubs with the Leicester footpath association as they start and finish their walks from them which I’m sure helps as they do walks 4 days a week but not been out with them lately. It is sad a a bit embarrassing when you visit a pub and they are struggling and maybe your pints not very good. The pub in the lovely village of Grimston recently went through a community buy out which is great, have you been to the community pub in Bamford yet that’s really good. On my last walk I visited 3 community shops in 4 days so also good. I think not every pub can survive things have changed a lot which has also led to the new ale bars which in Leicestershire we have a lot of them mostly all new ventures and not in the old pubs. One village pub locally a free house sells only a local small local breweries beer and like others I visit it maybe on the motorbikes with others because the beer is fantastic. All in all the quality of beer has improved massively in the last 10 years so we are very lucky. In fact we are spoilt for good choice around here Steve. Cheers 🍻
