- Filey is a seaside town and civil parish in North Yorkshire, England. It is located between Scarborough and Bridlington on Filey Bay. Although it was a fishing village, it has a large beach and became a popular tourist resort.
Filey is at the eastern end of the Cleveland Way, a long-distance footpath; it starts at Helmsley and skirts the North York Moors. It was the second National Trail to be opened (1969). The town is at the northern end of the Yorkshire Wolds Way National Trail which starts at Hessle and crosses the Yorkshire Wolds. Filey is the finishing point for Great Yorkshire Bike Ride. The 70-mile ride begins at Wetherby Racecourse.

We were there yesterday (Thursday), walked along the beach to the sailing club, then up and along the top back to Glen gardens. Beautiful place.

Never been before - set off a few times to visit and then we see the signs for Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay and Scarborough and one of them always wins out. To be fair it did look nice mind, as did the weather for a change, cheers Alan

Hope you took one of the MANY free spots located in Filey! Lovely bit of old fashioned promenade that, still nice when the tide is in. One of our favourite walks is catching the train from Flamborough to Bempton, accessing the coast just North of the RSPB Bempton site for free and walking the cliffs down to Speeton, down onto the sands and back to Filey, great walk but the tide has to be out! 👍
We Parked at the Country park...Karen had the pleasure of paying...quite pricey i think..we had a lovely walk, dodging the showers on the way back.

We've visited coastal Yorkshire many times, but not yet ventured to Filey. It looks a really pretty relaxing place to spend a day. Nice video!

Looks perfect for a walk. We had a walk just down the coast from Filey this week at Fraisthorpe. There are some great beaches on the East Coast. Looks like you had good weather too.
